Hi every body, do you all know what is the procedure and how to do DIY the timing belt for WiSe? Maybe want to experiance it la.

i have never done it b4... but i know u have to remove damn lots of stuff n bolts.... including de engine mounting, belt bearings, belt cover...

n if u put back de timing belt n missed 1 or 2 tooth... then ur car performance will be diff liao...

ask G88...he diy his timing belt just recently.

if you are doing alone...and w/o much experience and complete set of tool ...you need at least 8 hrs...i did mine in around 5-6 hrs...slowly done...take breakfast, lunch lah, lepak here and there....

My 5hrs also include of changing engine mounting, engine oil/filter change, brake fluid change, front brake pad replacement, rear brake shoes cleaning and checking....

A Golden Tips for you...it's Strongly recommend you get a air gun..mostly you need to go your mech's place DIY since aside it's "faster" the overall process...you are few big nut not easy to remove...e.g Crank Pulley nut....

could anyone give us some tips on how to remove our crank pulley bolt if we don't have a pneumatic impact wrench?...

did a search whereby a forumer had recommended the below option which i don't really understand...care to put it into layman terms?.... :help: :help: :help:

the method is to have a long breaker bar that can rest on the chassis of the vehicle when place on the crankshaft bolt and using the engine power to loosen the bolt by cranking it a few times.

another method is to use a big hammer and hit/'impact' it onto the breaker bar a few times.

method 1 best be careful when cranking, if the breaker bar is to far to the part where is will rest, it can forcefully hit the chassis and damage it if the impact is hard enough and can burn the starter motor if not careful and dont know what you are doing.

method 2 is safer as it is an impact action. the further you can hit it and the bigger the hammer, the easier it is to loosen it.

other than this, just pay someone with an air impact wrench to do loosen it. goto the workshop ask them to loosen it for you for say rm10, than just hand tighten it and go futher about 30 degrees and drive home, remove it yourself ;)

make sure you have the right tension set upon re-installation of the timing belt. If re-using the belt, make sure you mark the direction of the belt before removal and re-install in previous direction.

Don't do it alone first time...
Call someone who did it before... buy some beer... some food... and step by step help him and watch what he is doing.
There is no diy for such things, you have to watch and learn.

my 1st time was really DIY without guidance.... end up miss a tooth.... :lol:
