In the land of the Draconians, The Kingdom of Tazato, a castle stood towering over a bustling city. This tower was unmatched in size, though it was not overly pretty like some of the humans, or even the elven castles. No, this castle was rugged, but was still fit for a great king...or queen for that matter.
In the throne room of this magnificent castle was a row of eight thrones, the largest of which was perched the highest on a large platform. The others were a few steps below and all were equal in size. In these great thrones sat eight Draconians, the rules of all the Draconian lands. The youngest would appear about the human age equivalent of seven years. The ages of these royals seemed to step up in a steady rhythm. However, something changes in dealing with the Draconian sitting in the seventh throne. Unlike the previous six thrones, this particular throne held a Draconian female.
The Prince's all look composed and respectable, sitting in their thrones. But the female looked intense. Not only did her eyes burn with this intensity, but her manner was different as well. She sat sideways on the throne, using one arm as a back rest, and the other as a foot perch, while the other rested on the floor.
Once one was able to get passed the intensity of the Princess, all attention would rest on the largest throne. This throne also held a Draconian female. She was majestic, poised, and had the air of a true Queen about her. However, what was most striking about this queen was that she looked exactly like the Princess. The mother perhaps? No. The Princess and the Queen of all the Draconians were identical twins. A rare phenomena to the Draconian race.
But how did only one of them ascend to the throne? You see, the Princess was an ill omen for the Draconians since birth. The markings on her wings were proof enough of that. The oracle to the previous King and Queen prophesied that the Queen would have a set of twins, and that one of these twins would bring about the destruction of Tazato and the great Draconian race. The Oracle claimed that the stars told her that this child of destruction, the Cursed One, would be born with the wings of evil.
In order to prevent this devastating occurrence, the King and Queen were instructed to kill the child as soon as it was identified. However, when they first set of precious children were born, they could not bring themselves to kill the child. Instead, they let her live. However, the Oracle confronted the Draconian people about this decision, but King had forbidden the death of his precious daughter.
The child grew, but did not have a happy life. She was forced to learn how to defend herself after many attempt on her life were made. The training was harsh and grueling, so the child never had any time to be a child. Since the moment she was born, she was caught in a great struggle between life and death.
Of course, her family was there for her and cared for her deeply. None could have cared more than her twin, the current Queen of Tazato. Even so, life was extremely hard for the Princess, and still is. Perhaps that is why her eyes blaze with such intensity. The princess was very intimidating and even frightening. She was not ugly, oh no, she and the Queen looked alike after all. The Princess shared the same beauty the that Queen possessed.
The assassination attempts had stopped after the people realized that none of the assassins ever returned alive. They suspected the king had ordered the deaths of the assassins after the guards had caught them, but they slowly began to realize that the Princess herself was getting rid of all the assassins that were sent to kill her. This was a frightening rumor among the Draconians and truly believed that she was the evil Draconian, the Cursed One, that would destroy them all.
____
Today, the royal family had assembled to here the plights of the people, so that the Queen could learn what her people needed in order to better her peoples lives. The Council had suggested the the Princess should always be left out, as it makes the people feel uncomfortable. However, the Queen was angered by this suggestion and would no hear of it. So, every time the Queen invited the people to her castle, her sister is present, sitting in her proper throne where she belongs.
A young man was called forth and introduced. He timidly stepped forward and bowed down to the Queen while she listened to his worries. He managed to look up and glance at the Princess, was his eyes locked with her scorching gaze, making him look away in fear.
"Your majesty!" The young Draconian exclaimed. "The herds are dying of starvation because there isn't enough water to grow the grain they need to live." He closed his eyes as he Kowtowed to the Queen. "please your majesty! I beg of you to dispose of the Cursed One! It is her fault that the rain will not come!"
His plea was met with utter silence, which made him extremely nervous. Surprisingly, as the eyes shifted top the Cursed One herself, the Princess did nothing. In fact, she did no seem interesting in his pleas at all. However, the Queen was not thrilled.
"What you speak of is treason and is punishable by death. Do you dare to plot the death of a member of the royal family?" She said calmly, which was even more nerve wracking. "If you do not remove yourself from my presence at once, I will have you killed immediately."
Now scared for his life, the Draconian scooted backwards and left the room in quite a hurry. However, he had done it. He managed to do what many people came here to do. To gaze at the one who would destroy them and live to tell the tale.
"I will see the next one now," the Queen informed to a guard. He nodded and opened the throne room after the other Draconian had left. "Will the next individual please step up. The Queen will see you now."

The Queen listened to Victor speak, considering his words. She was silent for a moment afterwards, then shifted slightly on her throne to get more comfortable. "What skills do you have? If I know what you are capable of, I might be able to find you a suitable job," she said.
The Queen raised an eyebrow then, looking at Victor suspiciously. "I was never going to ask anything about the Cursed One. Your words raise a great deal of suspicion, Draconian. You can guarantee that if I find you work, the work will not be in this castle," the Queen paused a moment, then continued, "Perhaps you should have chosen your words more wisely."
She then nodded ever so slightly towards a very spindly young Draconian. "Leave your name and your skills with the scribe. Do be sure to leave a means of contacting you."
The Queen looked up at the guards then and nodded. They approached Victor and one of them held and arm out, motioning towards the door. "This way, sir." The scribe bowed politely to the Queen, then scurried out the door after the guards who were escorting Victor from the room.

When the doors closed, the Princess narrowed her eyes at the closed door. "He did not bow to you, sister," she said in a voice that held mistrust.
"Indeed he did not," the Queen replied. "He might have not have been accustomed to dealing with those of high status, much less royalty. He appeared a bit roughish. I also realize that this could be a sign of defiance...a silent stand against me. Treason, to put it bluntly."
One of the males towards the middle gave a sigh and slumped slightly. "Would it even matter if he tried to kill Siri? She would just kill him instead when he tried."
The youngest stood up in the throne and looked over the top of it at the Queen. "Are done now, sissy? I am bored. I don't like just sitting here all day," he complained. "Can I go play with Siri?"
"I am afraid I must remain here. However, all of you are free to leave. I understand that these are the dull aspects of being royalty," the Queen stated.
A few of the Princes jumped up and stretched. "Great!" They said in unison. "We will just be off then!"
The two oldest Princes stood and stretched as well. "We will remain here with Tatra for support."
Kemosiri stood and popped her neck, then moved over to the youngest and grabbed him around the waist. "Right then. I will just remove the chair ornament and go place him on a shelf somewhere," she teased.
"AWE! I am not a chair ornament!" Sef, the youngest complained.
Kemosiri and her other brothers then exited the throne room from a smallish partly hidden side door, leaving the Queen and the two oldest Princes to continue the days work. "Lets go play tag!" Sef shouted, waving his arms in Kemosiri's grasp.
"I don't want to plat tag," Kemosiri complained grumpily. "What I do want to do is strut around near the line of those people who think I am going to bring about the end of the world. I would just love to see the looks on their faces."
One of her brothers stopped and looked at her with an evil grin. "Want to do it?"
Kemosiri smiled evilly to then sighed. "Better not, Tatra would be so pissed."
"Man, the halls are eerily quiet on the days Tatra invited the people to the castle....it creepy. The place is deserted. Anyone could get in and out without anyone noticing," one of her brothers said.
"Who cares," Kemosiri said, waving her hand. "If lowly thieves wish to 'sneak' in and steal a few trinkets, then let them. they are only harming themselves. It's not like it affects us any."
A smallish Draconian suddenly leaped out from behind a pillar, brandishing a rather puny dagger in front of the siblings. At seeing Kemosiri, the man began to shake. "Y-y-you need to die now, ok? A-a-and you shouldn't judge people l-l-like that! S-s-s-ome of us-s-s have to steal to survive you now!"
Kemosiri looked at the man dryly, not in the least bit afraid. He brothers weren’t very impressed either.
“Wooooooooow. That’s pretty pathetic mister….” One of her brothers said as a side comment.
“If you think that tiny little dagger can kill me, then go ahead and try it. However,” Kemosiri said, her voice turning dark. “You do not have the right to lecture me about judging others!” Kemosiri began to slowly walk towards the man, eyes blazing with anger. “Who do you think has judged me since before I was even born? The people you are trying to defend, that’s who. And who is judging me now, without even truly knowing me? You are.” She reached the man now, and grabbed his shirt, lifting him slightly off the ground, making him drop the dagger.
As she lifted the man up with one arm, one of her other brothers slipped up behind Kemosiri and took Sef from her other arm and began to move on down the hallway. This was a rather normal occurrence, after all, so they weren’t really surprised about the incident.
“So what give you the right to judge me, you puny sack of shit? You are one of the biggest damned hypocrites I have ever seen,” Kemosiri hissed. “Consider your own words and get the hell out of my site!” Kemosiri yelled, whirling and tossing the man onto the stone floors.
___
That night, the Queen, Tatra, sat at her desk and looked over the various documents that were the results of the days efforts. She paused when she came across Victors and sighed, staring at it for a long moment. What job would suit him? He did mention he did not like males. He claimed he had skills, but taking him on as staff and the castle was out of the question. He was under suspicion after all.
Needless to say, he would be difficult to place. Finally, she picked up a quill and dipped it in ink. Thus she began Victor's letter:
Victor Haze,
I have taken your request under consideration. It was difficult to find something that would suit you, but I believe I may have found something suitable.
As you may now, there are many noble people around and these people often require escorts or bodyguards. I have enclosed a list of nobles who often call for escorts and bodyguards for themselves, or their children. This said, I have also taken into consideration that you do not particularly like to work around other males. I believe you will be happy to find that all nobility I have listed are female.
I have sent work out to them and should be hearing a reply from them soon. When a suitable job is needed, I will inform you right away.
Sincerely, Queen Tatra
___
A few days later, Victor would receive another letter from the Queen, requesting an appearance at the castle in regards to an escort job.

The Queen was sitting in the throne when Victor arrived. However, she was not alone. A young human female was sitting in a chair off to the side. When Victor came to stand before them, all eyes were focused on him. "Victor Haze, as you requested, I have found to work." The Queen lifted her hand and motioned towards the girl for a brief moment, then continued to speak, "This girl's name is Henrietta Bovidaire. Her family has been staying here in the city, but now she and her mother must return to their home. You are to escort them there and make sure they remain unharmed. Do you agree to take the job?"
The girl opened her fan and put it in front of her face so that Victor could not see her distaste. She looked Victor over, but found the room she was in much more interesting than him.
____
Out side the throne room, Kemosiri was just about to enter when a woman behind her began to speak. "Well, well, if it isn't the Princess herself. You don't look like much do you?"
Kemosiri turned slowly, eyebrow raised. The woman standing before her was a human who appeared to be nobility. Actually it was quite obvious, as she was dressed lavishly. "And you look ridiculous wearing so much jewelry and make up. Is your face really that ugly? That you have to cover it up with other crap in order to keep from scaring others?" Kemosiri replied with a sly smile.
The woman narrowed her eyes only slightly, and then smiled herself. "How funny you are, your Majesty. So...they call you the Cursed One, do they? For all the wrong reasons I am sure. How could someone like you honestly bring about the destruction of the Draconians? I mean look at you. You look like all the other Draconians....pathetic. Your attempt to look human was a complete failure. You simply look disgusting. I actually do wish you were capable of destroying your race. The Draconians would become one less impurity in this world."
Kemosiri wiggled a finger in her ear, and then looked back at the woman dryly. "What was that? I didn't really hear you. All I heard was 'blahblahblahblhablah’ and then some inappropriate farting noise. I didn't think nobility did that in public. Must be embarrassing for you."
The woman narrowed her eyes then walked forward. "As I said, such a disgusting race. Move aside, Draconian," the woman said attempting to shove aside Kemosiri who was blocking the door.
Kemosiri grinned evilly as the woman’s pathetic attempt did absolutely nothing. After all, the woman was puny compared to Kemosiri. The human woman was annoyed by her failed attempt and looked up at Kemosiri with burning eyes.
____
"I said move you disgusting creature!" the human female shouted.
"Eh? Disgusting? I am not the one who farted, am I? Humans are the ones who can't control their nasty little bodily functions," Kemosiri replied, amused.
"I DO NOT FART! NOW I DEMAND THAT YOU MOVE!"
Tatra, the Queen, looked up from Victor to look at the door behind him. She heard the shout of the noble woman, followed by her sister’s remark. She gave a sigh, but couldn't stifle an ever so slight snort of laughter, but managed to cover it up with a cough.
____
A few more words were said, and then Kemosiri burst into the throne room, dragging the noble woman with her. She tossed the woman onto the floor then forced her into a kowtow, placing her foot on the woman’s back when she tried to get up.
"Bow down to the Queen of Tazato, human woman. The Queen is said to be one of the greatest rulers of all the kingdoms in Odebar! Yet you claim that the greatest ruler is a disgusting creature that should be wiped off the face of the world! What does that say about you, oh noble one? You are forced to bow in respect to this disgusting creature. This must mean that you are even more disgusting than she!"
At that point, the woman began to get nervous, now realizing that Kemosiri and the other Draconians could easily kill her. "That isn't what I said, your majesty! You misunderstood me...."
OOC: Ah, you gotta love the sniveling, lying little creatures that the nobility often are....

The Queen returned her attention back to Victor when he spoke and nodded slightly to him. "Yes, this is the woman you must escort, along with her daughter. She had business to attend to so informed me she would be arriving late," Tatra stated.
She looked back over to her sister and cleared her throat. "Siri, dear, please do not kill the woman. It would be such a mess for both of us, don't you agree?"
Kemosiri paused and looked up at her sister, then crossed her arms and took her foot from the womans back. "Who said anything about killing the woman?"
"I did," Tatra replied simply. "Humans are delicate creatures, and you do not know your won strength. You were easily crushing the poor woman."
The daughter had already been shouting things in respiration for her mother. Kemosiri didn't hear them until now, and the girls voice was highly annoying. Kemosiri swiveled her head to look at the girl and gave the girl an evil look which made her sit right back down in her chair and shut up.
She looked over at Victor then and grinned evilly, which grinning evilly was something she seemed to do quite often. "You must be desperate to want to escort the likes of these creatures," she said in such a way that made Victor look pathetic. "I guess that is the problem with people with all brawn and no brain," Kemosiri said, and then looked up at her sister. "Oh, Tatra, I came to tell you that someone has been sneaking around in your office and your bedroom. I think it is that sneaky council of yours. If you aren't careful, you will regret not taking my advice and getting rid of them. They are up to something." She turned then and waved, "Well, tata then, sister. I will leave you to do what you do. Oh...and good luck with the humans Mr. Brawn-and-no-brain."
When Kemosiri left, the woman on the floor looked up at the Queen, trying to suck up now. "Did...the princess just threaten you, your majesty?"
Tatra blinked at the woman, then began to laugh. "What? Siri-dear? Threaten me? Don't make me laugh! She could never seriously threaten me."
The woman stared at the Queen, confused as to why the princess would not be able to threaten the Queen. "Oh, of course. You spared her life, so she is in your debt."
Tatra's laughed faded away and then she looked at the woman with a kind smile, "No, I am afraid you have it wrong. However, that just shows how little people truly know of my sister. It's a shame, really."
"How could not getting to know her be a shame? I would prefer never to have met the brutish beast...." the woman mumbled.
The Queen frowned at the woman's remark. "You will regret it in the future if you do not learn to stop judging a book by its cover. Always remember that even though a book may have a tattered cover, a story greater than no other could be written inside." Looking up at Victor she nodded to him, "You should go now Victor and take these to with you. It will take several days to reach your destination, so you need to start off when the day is young. You will be paid when you reach their home."

The woman stood then, brushing herself off and began to follow after Victor, her daughter following close behind. When they left the room, she narrowed her eyes. "I can see why the Princess would threaten the Queen. Jealousy can drive others mad. I would bet that the Princess is feeling rather jealous by now. After all, she is the Cursed One, looked down upon and hated by all. Yet...her sister sits high up on her throne and is known as a great ruler and is loved by all," the woman explained. "I feel sorry for the Queen. Of of these days she will be betrayed by her own sister...."
Of course, all this was coming from a woman who would do just that. If her twin had ascended the throne instead of her, she would probably plot her assassination. But, luckily for society, she had been an only child.
They finally reached the front gates and the woman and her daughter climbed into the carriage. A few moments later, they were off and on their way back home.
____
That night, Kemosiri stood on her balcony, looking up at the sky. She couldn't see anything written in them no matter how hard she looked. Therefore, how could some old hag claim to have seen the future in them?
She turned slightly when she heard her door open and close, and then moved to look back up at the sky.
"Looking at the stars again, Siri-dear?" Tatra asked, coming to stand beside her sister. Kemosiri replied with a grunt, but said nothing else.
"Siri...are you...jealous of me?" Tatra asked out of the blue.
Kemosiri looked down at her sister then, studying her. She was silent for a long while before she answered her sister’s question. "I would be lying if I said I wasn’t. After all, you have everything. However...I have lived a life of prosecution. Everyday is a struggle to survive and overcome what has been put on my shoulders. I wanted to rule, though, to be a great Queen like you."
Tatra looked over to her sister, her face saddened. "I know you wanted to Kemosiri, but...this was for the good of the people," Tatra said, though she didn't want to say anything.
Kemosiri smirked, "I know, don't worry about saying it, Tatra. Because of how I have lived thus far, I am unsuitable to be Queen. This kingdom would truly fall into ruin if I were to rule, and that prophecy would indeed come true. I know...that if I did rule, I would make the people pay for what they have done to me." She turned fully then and la a hand on her sister's shoulder. "But, that is why you are the Queen now, isn't it? To rule justly and to save the people and myself from our horrible, destined fates?"
Tatra smiled slightly, "I guess so."
"And, you know you do not have to worry about me trying to overthrow you. Even though I am jealous of you and wish to seek revenge on those who are trying to destroy my life, I will not harm you or our brothers. You are my family, and you are all I have. I could never bring any harm to any of you," Kemosiri said.
Tatra's smile grew then, "Right."
"That...was so BEAUTIFUL KEMOSIRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!" Came a sniffled cry from near her door. Kemosiri whirled to see her brother poking their heads in and 'crying' with joy.
Kemosiri turned red, then growled. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU BRATS DOING IN MY ROOM! I will kill every last one of you for invading my personal space!"
One of her younger brothers stepped in and waggled a finger at her, "Nah uh! Remember you said: 'I could never bring any harm to any of you.' So you can't kill us! HA!"
Kemosiri clenched her fists, then looked up at her brother with an evil smile. "Who said killing would bring about any harm?"
Her brother froze then as her other brothers slipped away to safety. "Ah...you look scary again....Siri....."
"That's because I am now your worst nightmare...."

As the carriage rolled along, the woman and the woman's daughter sat inside. They remained silent for the most part, but every once in a while they found something to complain about, including how Victor was "attracting the flies" that seemed to have started to pester them.
On the second day of the trip, the complaining escalated. Though there complaining turned to squeals when they were suddenly confronted with a band of...well...bandits. Such a fancy carriage meant whoever was inside was loaded, so it was too good of an opportunity for the bandits to pass up.
At first, the bandits only appeared to block the path of the carriage. However, once the carriage was stopped, more bandits appeared and complete surrounded the carriage. "Alright," one of them said. "Just hand over your loot and this will be easy, m'kay?"
