Welcome to Whitecross Stables!
Greetings, newcomer. Nice to see some new faces 'round here. This is Whitecross Stables, a fun and realistic stable roleplay that caters equally to the human and equine perspective. Here at WCS we encourage our members to become literate and really get into their responses and posts. We also encourage a friendly, relaxed environment for members to just chill out and talk to one another. If you think this place is for you, take a trip over to our first category of boards. Read about Whitecross and the story behind the game. Then trudge on over to the rules board, which must be read by all new members. Hopefully this is enough to convince you to join! Daily Forecast
December 1st - Summer lasted a bit longer than was expected, so winter might be doing the same this year. The cold hasn't really settled in yet, so temperatures are usually in the low 50's. Pull out those blankets and sheets as horses will get chilly easily. Soft snow falls happen once in awhile, but nothing particularly heavy yet. The riding rings can get a bit stiff, so grab ahold of a stable worker to smooth out the ring a bit for your horse's sake. It's very easy for a horse to trip and hurt itself on the hard ground or to hurt a hoof.

The History Behind Whitecross Stables
Each site usually has a section explaining it's unique story or history. It's what makes each site different. This is Whitecross's history, just a nice little post telling you how the stables came about and such. I suggest reading it since it will help you understand what happened to create the Whitecross that stands today.

The Rules
Self-explanatory. Read ALL of them before joining. I am getting really tired of people who can't follow the set regulations for roleplaying here. I don't mean to be so harsh or strict about it, but I am really coming down on people who choose to just join on a whim. Don't expect any mercy if you choose to skip over this board.

Absent Board
If your going on vacation, getting super busy at home or with school, or just plain need a break, make a post here so we know not to delete your account should an activity check come up for some reason. Try to include when you think you'll be back so we can plan a welcome back party, hehe.

Suprises & Disasters
Will a wonderful surprise come for your character? Or will disaster strike? Check this board often to see what could happen! These are completely random and will be conducted at completely random times and happen to random players. It makes the game a bit more interesting, so expect the unexpected guys!

The Stable Lounge
This is the perfect place for work-laden horse owners to kick back and relax...at least, until another chore calls their name. This is also the perfect place for new riders to meet friends, and to pick up on any information they may find valuable. It's just like a regular recreation room, complete with a work desk, a full-service kitchen, a television, and a comofortable leather coach.

The Barn
The absolute core of everything that is the majestic and graceful equine. The barn houses anything your average horse stable would, but just ups the quality. The atmosphere is wonderfuland a complaint is very rare. Everything from the stalls to the riding arenas are located here for all your horsey needs.

The Training Rings
If you have a young horse that needs some training, come to any one of the multiple training rings to school your baby. Whitecross houses multiple little rings so that you can provide your youngster with a well-rounded education that will mold him/her into a wonderful riding animal.

The Arenas
There are many different places to ride your horse at Whitecross; indoors, outdoors, or on a wilderness trail. So saddle up and head out for a good time!

The Trails
Whether up in the mountain ranges or through a secluded forest trail, there are many beautiful places to take your horse if you are hoping for a hack. Trails are relaxing and fun for your horse as well as for you! Just make sure to let someone know your going, or even take a riding buddy along with you.

The Paddocks
There are two types of paddocks available for your horses to gallop freely in; one is for mares and geldings, and many smaller ones are for stallions to stretch out without interfering with other horses.

The Breeding Paddock
A large pen for mares and stallions to breed if so desired by their owners. Please read all the rules before posting in this thread. An admin must give you their consent before your horses can breed.

The Foaling Barn
The other barn located on the Whitecross premises is the foaling barn. This large building has 10 roomy stalls for mares to give birth in. Each stall is heavily bedded down with soft straw for the pregnant mare and the expected foal.

The Horse Show Grounds
If you think you have what it takes to beat the best, stop by here during either Summer or Autumn to see if there are any competitions you may be interested in entering. The occasional indoor show MAY be held in the winter, but it's a rare occurrence. You are encouraged to enter shows. It's a fun atmosphere and competition never hurt anybody.

Stud Listings
If you wish your stallion to be available for public breeding, post his stats here - breed, color, discipline, fee, etc. Once you find a mare to breed with, PM an admin about the match and wait for acceptance before moving things over to the Breeding Paddock board.

The Veterinarian's Office
The veterinarian of the game stays here to take care of any sick horses. If you have an injured animal, it may be wise to drop by.

If your horse needs new shoes or their feet trimmed, you can stop by the farrier to have their hooves looked at.

Private Sales
All horse characters who join the game first come here to find a caring, loving owner. When a horse character meets a human character that they think is a good home for them, they accept the human's offer. An admin will approve and create a stall for the new equine. The roleplaying is then taken to the stall thread.

The Tack Shop
You need saddles, bridles, and grooming supplies to properly care for your horse. You can buy all of that and more here. Shopping for your equine is always a fun experience, so be prepared to spend some cash!

Human Character Files
All human characters have a page in the Human Character Files. The file lists the amount of money each character has, their total points, their inventory, their horses, their occupation, and horse show ribbons won, along with other information.

Character Adoptions
Has your prized mare just had a foal you can't roleplay yourself? Do you no longer wish to play this game, but don't want to simply abondon it? Post your characters's stats here so that someone else can adopt your charge. Make sure to include any conditions you might want for anyone interested.
