[the•roleplayer] Name;;Giles Age;; 19 Contact Info;;pinkissohardontheknees@hotmail.com Do You Play Anyone Else?;; nope
[the•character] Name;; John Little Nickname;; Little John Age;; 44 Gender;; Male Sexuality;; Straight Birthdate;; November the third Faction;; Robin Hood Skills;; John has lived a full life and gathered an array of skills unfortunately only a few can be transferred to his current life as an outlaw, knowing what to plant when is little use when living in the woods. He is though a handy guy he knows the right tool to use for a job and how to make himself useful. He is also a passable tracker and woodsman, though not excellent. Though it is hardly a skill it is worth mentioning, John is the worst archer in Robin’s band though admittedly he makes up for it with his almost uncanny skill with a quarterstaff. Profession;; Outlaw, former farmer
Model Claim;;Gordon Kennedy Member Title;;
General Description;;If there was one word to describe John it would be grounded. He is a man who keeps both feet on the ground and approaches every problem with good old fashioned common sense. He is the man who is thinking of the how of everything. John is a simple man, but to mistake simple for stupid would be a mistake though he certainly isn’t one for coming up with grand schemes or pretty words such as Robin does he approaches problems with a methodical relentlessness that could move mountains. John is a quiet man, indeed he has much to ponder unlike some of the outlaws he has a family of his own which he left to protect them from his ‘crimes’. As such he is perhaps the least enamored with the romance of their situation. This does not mean though that he doesn’t enjoy it, the opportunity to give one of the nobility a bit of humiliation and maybe even a good beating is usually enough to put a smile on his face. The main reason though he follows Robin is that simply enough it is the right thing to do. Though he has always thought of himself as a kings man it’s the nobles in between, he has a working man’s distain for anyone who hasn’t done a hard day’s work, he considers Robin an honorary yeoman. As the eldest member of the band he considers himself responsible for them. He is a patient man with a long fuse but when he does lose his temper he really loses it. Though he seems gruff on the outside once you get to know him he’s a big teddy bear, at least to his friends. Likes;;Fighting His fellow outlaws and their cause Drinking His staff (don’t mess with the staff) Helping his fellow peasants Dislikes;; The sheriff and the nobility in general Taxes Being unable to take direct action Taking unnecessary risks People not pulling their weight Hobbies;Brewing (he is attempting to brew his own alcohol in the forest though up to the moment his attempts have been less than palatable) Whittling Bad Habits;;Over thinking things except when it comes to a threat to Alice or his son in which case much the reverse is true. Enjoying fighting perhaps a little too much
[the•appearance]
General Description;; The name Little John is to say the least a tad ironic, the biggest and strongest of the Merry Men, he is an ox of a man. He is a physically intimidating man particularly with the dour expression that normally covers his bearded face. He is beginning to grey, a point of no small amusement to some of the band. Though he is physically powerful he does not have the finely tuned physique of some of the band, indeed though he is far from fat he does have a bit of a gut. His huge frame, shaggy hair and thick beard; all in all there is no animal he resembles more than a bear. He dresses in rough spun materials and his trademark long coat. He fights with a crude but brutally effective style making use of his vast strength to knock his foes to the ground and the blunt ends of his quarterstaff too great effect, the perfect weapon for a man who doesn’t wish to kill. Hair Color;;Brown, with the odd grey hair Eye Color;; Brown Height;; 6’4” Tattoos/Piercings;;None Picture;;
[the•background] Family;; Alice Little(wife) John (son) History;; John Little grew up in Locksley his life was for the most part unremarkable he took over his father’s farm and married Alice his childhood sweetheart. He was never fond of any form of taxation but then who is? His life was happy enough; he used to pull his own plough as a party trick on feast days, though he and Alice were not blessed with a child. But slowly the taxes began to rise; bit by bit demands became more extreme. John is a man who is slow to anger but one year as the sheriffs men came for their taxes. It had been a bad year and they could not pay, this had happened before as before they shoved him aside searching in case he had anything hidden. But this time was different; Alice didn’t move fast enough and one of them men threw her to the ground. Something snapped in John little and that long patience came to a rather sudden end. He beat the two guards, hurling them out into the street, the problem of course being that there were rather more than two guards collecting taxes from the village at the time. He fought like a wild animal, a man possessed, but there is little even the strongest of men can do alone and unarmed against a troop of men at arms. They subdued him, tied at the wrists he was tugged behind a horse with the intention of hanging him in Nottingham. But the knots where poorly tied and John Little slipped free and before the horsemen could catch him plunged into the deep undergrowth of Sherwood forest. With not an archer among the soldiers he was able to escape. Four years went by and bit by bit John became quite the outlaw. He desperately tried to forget Alice knowing that his return would only outlaw her as well. The guards in their fear of punishment changed the story from escaped to killed while escaping. Eventually he even came to lead a band of his own mostly through his size, confidence and knowledge of the woodland. But then he met Robin. He did take an immediate dislike to the young noble but soon realized that he was trying to help and that he was a man worthy of his respect and his allegiance. He has continued to fight beside Robin and to serve his cause, the cause of the people of Sherwood ever since. The most important of these events, at least for John led his family discovering he in fact lived though Alice is now with another Man and both she and his son have moved away from Nottingham and Sherwood.
