blueish gray eyes started blankly at the laptop screen, his mouth twisting into a smirk as rachel said that she'd go with him for coffee. it had been hard convincing her, though. i guess you could say the two had some..rough history. mason leaned back in his seat as the memories washed over him. every now and then, he could feel his heart clench a little. rachel had..been his longest relationship. he had cared about her. he had loved her. all of that had changed that one night. the twenty one year old exhaled sharply as he recalled that one night. he and rachel had been wasted off their asses and he had tried to get her to sleep with him. but his plan had backfired on him. horribly, might i add. she had refused him and he had..well, lets just say he didn't like it. very deliberately, he glanced down at his bare hands, the very hands that had shoved rachel black when she rejected him.

rejection was something mason blake was not used to. he was already so accustomed to the girls just..coming to him, without an ounce of a fight in them. not that he was complaining, or anything. but that wasn't the only reason why he had..been so enraged when rachel refused him. for one thing, he had been wasted. when intoxicated it wasn't unusual for mason to adopt a rather aggressive behavior. unfortunately, rachel black had been the victim of his anger. after that one night, mason had tried apologizing to her so many times but she never really forgave him. that was obvious enough. it was clear by the way she talked to him with a..forced caution hidden in the lines of her words. would she ever know how sorry he was? how much he regretted that one night? somehow he doubted she ever would come to realize just how terribly sorry he was. but, finally, he had a chance to talk to her. after months of stressing himself about it he finally had the chance to explain to her what happened that night, why he behaved the way he had.

mason and rachel had really been quite an item back at WSU. he could even remember the day they met. the two had met at one of the infamous college parties, cliche as it was. there had been something about rachel black that drew mason blake to her. maybe it was her canny ability to outsmart him? or was it her generally sweet personality? rachel black was a classy girl. she played by the rulebook whereas mason did not. so it was always possible that it had been the whole opposites attract thing. though, even mason blake would've never imagined himself being with a girl for four months. before rachel, his longest relationship had been two weeks. you see, he was not one of those guys who could stay with a girl for too long. unless, of course, they could keep his interest. other than that, he normally went through girls as he went through life - without a care in the world. rachel black had not been one of those girls. neither was leah clearwater. leah, being his current girlfriend. leah, being the girl who participated in many of his dreams. leah, being the girl he so deeply lusted for.

he glanced over at the clock and sighed. it was about time for him to go pick up rachel. mason stood up and grabbed his keys from the end table. without another word or glance around his house, he walked out of the door and down the gravel path towards his familiar black motorcycle. he hoisted himself up on the familiar seat, stuck the keys in and revved the engine. stop stalling, a voice muttered to him in the back of his mind. it was true - he was stalling. meeting up with rachel again was..strange for him, uncomfortable. with a tremulous sigh, he revved the engine once more and took off, not caring that he was speeding. everybody in la push sped. it was only a matter of moments before he arrived at the black's house. mason sat up and idled the bike. he whistled once - something he often did to capture rachel's attention when they were dating.
"cmon, black!" he called impatiently, rolling his eyes.

SIDE-NOTES: i would've finished it where they arrived at the cafe, but i didn't want to like, powerplay or whatever its called. and, yes, i do know that this is on raine's account xD i'm a lazy butt.

Rachel was always a very responsible girl. But today she wouldn’t be as responsible since she was going to go on a coffee run with Mason Blake. Mason Blake, the devil known to all girls, ha, he was mysteriously still good looking and she was definitely in trouble now. If someone read her mind thinking that she would be in deep shit, she only hoped Edward Cullen wasn’t around or something. Being twenty two years old Rachel still had a lot to think about in the past life and what had happened to her. She had a few ex boyfriends here and there but nothing as special close to Mason Blake. She thought he could’ve been the one for her, but he got away. The good one’s always got away. Rachel sighed thinking about the day but she couldn’t now that she had Paul. Paul Amikk was a good guy, he was strong, a little temperamental but not so much, he was level headed, stubborn, and had the heart of gold. As she slipped on her black knee high comfy combat boots she looked in the mirror and hoped that Mason wouldn’t say anything to cruel to her tonight.

You would think that when you see Rachel and Mason together they were both opposites, she liked Mason because he was a bad boy. He always had that look. She wanted something fun, and exciting, yet adventurous and sweet, he was sweet. Some of the times, but not all; like most men were. The two regretted that night that was for sure. Rachel looked up at the time and cursed out loud, “Crap I’m a little late,” she snuck out the window while she grabbed her keys and her things to stuff them in her pockets on the way out. She only brought her cell phone, a lip gloss, her compact she put in her jacket, and had sprayed some perfume on the way out. Thankfully the town was just a five minute walk from her father’s house. The beach wasn’t so far away from there house either. Which she was glad that Jake Black was a Beta of the wolves, he had la push around him. Which was a good thing for them because they would be protected at all times, that was slightly bad for Rachel because she’d be watched like a hawk.

As she made her way to meet Mason, all she could think of was the past. She and Mason we’re quite a pair back at Washington State University. She graduated with journalism major, and he didn’t really know where he was going. By the time she was already outside Mason was already at her house, in front of the clearing Mason had been there with his motorcycle. Another reason why she had loved him before, the motorcycle, she lovedddd fast cars, and fast rides, everything about it was a rush. She loved the rush she got from it. Maybe that’s why these two had dated. She smiled at him and shook her head as she zipped up her leather jacket and snarled at him teasingly, "c’mon, black!" Rach laughed at him and gave him a little back hug before she wrapped her leg on the other side of his bike seat. “Oh hush Blake, mmm I haven’t ridden in this thing in ages! I missed it!” she laughed again and ran her hand across the sides of it admiring the paint job on it.

“Come on Mason, show me what you’ve got!” she hassled him and snickered wrapping her arms on his waist. It felt like old times where they used to ride together in the sunset, there were so many moments that she remembered and wanted to remember but it was hard too. “I have missed you! And this,” her head shook as they began to take off drive off. Today had to be an odd day, as her stomach ached for the closeness of Paul she already felt bad for being with another man. “So Leah knows you are in this with me here?” she made it sound so secretive, as she allowed her hair to let loose behind her. The wind felt so nice against her body, she missed riding fast things.
