In order to be successful in your application, reading these rules will help you develop a well-rounded character. Please remember, there is a password amongst these rules and in order for it to be even looked at the password must appear within your application.
Once you've read through the rules, please be sure to post your application in a new thread on this board with the characters First then last name with their codename on the subject line.
_____Application Rules_____
1. Let's get the power and mutation settled first. There will be no overpowering mutations that make your character nearly invulnerable to any attack. This means that your character will NOT have a ton of powers and powers that make them the Marvel version of Superman. Healing is an ability that is frowned upon. Logan Howlett and a couple other canons have this ability and that's enough. Refrain from shape shifters, although I like to see them only if the shape your character forms is of one thing or breed (ex: cats, or just a wolf). Mutations are limited to only 2 effects that they can accomplish within their mutation.
2. Weaknesses are a must. Every character including the almighty Wolverine has weaknesses. Having emotional weaknesses such as women, or children, are alcohol and drugs can be contributing factors to making the mutation, but there should be another form of weakness in their mutation. For example: Someone who can manipulate fire has the weakness of ice and water elements.
3. Both Canons and Originals are welcome on this site. There will be a 3 character rule which will include NPC characters (characters needed but not used as much in plots). NPCs are those characters such as Sinister, who are only used in major plots and such. To have an NPC character, the administration should approve it first to determine just how often that character will be played. You can have a total 2 primary characters (must have at least one active canon) and only 1 NPC character. This will cut down and relying for you to make the minimum posting per week and allow for great character development.
4. A list is provided to those canons available for play. Your character (if canon) will be reserved for 1 week. If after that week, the application is not up, it will be deleted along with the account so someone else can take up the character.
5. You have 1 week from the date of registering to place your application within the database. If you need a WIP, that is perfectly acceptable as long as you finish within the week of registration. That week starts the day you register no matter what day you start the application even if it is a WIP.
6. There will be NO tolerance for plagiarism even if you are applying for a canon character. Taking the time to research your canon and place the storyline and such in your own words will only benefit you in making your posts that much more believable and have a complete understanding of your characters interests and actions. The password is Vis_Ultionis. Anyone caught plagiarizing an application will be automatically deleted from the site after only one warning to change it. You will have 2 to make the appropriate changes or your application will be denied.
7. When you apply for more than one character an RP sample IS required for each one. It will only benefit you in the end.
8. Each application must have a name you can be identified with other than your character name. A means of contacting you must also be placed within the application for the staff and those who wish to do story plots can successfully get a hold of you.
9. If you are applying for a popular canon character, you will need high post quality, great grammar skills, and the flexibility to role play with just about any other character on the board. Most importantly, you MUST post with your canon at least twice a week or you’re character will be deleted. These high ranking characters are role models for the Xmen and Brotherhood students and should act like such in their posting. If you are applying for a Legion, you will also need very intricate role playing skills as this group is the main focus of the board and their dirty deeds will far surpass that of the Brotherhood.
10. History is probably the most important part of the application. It tells the story of the character. If you are applying for a canon character that was highly involved in any of the three Xmen movies, you must coincide that part of your history here. The 10 years that are missing are up to you to bring forth more exciting details to their whereabouts during that time. Originals should place the most detailed history possible including when and where they first discovered their powers and what they intend on using them for now and in the future.
11.Post your application in the application area and wait for it to be approved and moved.
12. When registering your character, you MUST register under the character's name IE: Sean Cassidy. Not the character code name, your name, or nickname.
13: You MUST post your Application using the application form provided. Do Not post it directly in the forum you wish your character to be IE: W-men Faculty/Students, Brotherhood Leaders/students, Devils Legion, Human, Neutral.
