my advanced adventures are nearing the "warfare" task, where I have to wipe out a complete Njerpez village.
I have several questions about that: 1) how can I convert the village into my settlement? (deconstruct everything and reconstruct it again?) 2) will Njerpez (re)spawn there OR is it safe to live there even it is still a Njerpez village (I would (trap-)fence around my sleeping area of course)? |

I havent travel to Njerpez area yet or done the warfare task, but if the warfare task can be done with wiping out Njerpez camps, which you can find basically everywhere near other areas, then this will work. The camp will convert to "your settlement" as soon as you have wiped it clean. (Njerpez warriors wont respawn there anymore and it is safe to live there.) The way i see it, your settlements are not exactly "yours" even though you have build something. Shelters and cabins just show up automatically in your travelmap when you create something (It is good thing for example to build a shelter next to a big prey if you cant prepare it or carry it away right away. Your shelter will show you where your meats are and you can find it really quick.) Wiping out camps work the same way. First in the big map, you can see purple area, but you may not have found the camp yet (if i remember right, the camp will show as little purple square in the big map.) When you find the camp in travelmap, you can see couple teepees, or finnish kotas showing as the Njerpez hideout in travelmap view. Get in and fter you have cleaned it, if you look at the big map, you cant see the purple area anymore and then it is yours. You have to kill every njerpez in that area to make the purple thing go away. Now, when you have cleaned it, if you build a shelter near the camp, it will just overlap the kota texture in travelmap view, but the kota texture will not disappear. Therefore it is good and easy way to use Njerpez camps as base camps when you travel farther away from your hunting grounds. And you dont need to deconstruct anything or build trap fences if you dont want to, it is safe and "yours" unless there are some wandering bears or njerpez warriors nearby attacking you when you are sleep, but those are not from that camp. |

Thats not quite the way it works guys, you must kill every nj in the area and deconstruct/burn every building to wipe out the camp.
Then you can use the recovered logs to build your own settlement. |

since I completed the warfare task yesterday:
1) killing all nj removed the cultural area 2) the three tents on the overland map are still there since I want them gone, I will probably deconstruct the whole settlement. btw. due to a bug in 3.14 you have to complete the warfare task without companions |

It's not that hard for one person to take out a village, at least if you're good ranged. Just sneak in at night, keep to the edges, pick someone off (kiting them into the next square as soon as they spot you if possible), and then immediately zoom out into the world map. You're safe once you're in big map, so rest, move to approach from a different side, and repeat.

thx, did it without zooming out. Not that hard, if you have done it once, but usually that is the problem - the first time. |
