Just a quick question: Is the table that describe the diferent uses for each fur and leather type at the old Thoth's website still valid?
Do protect better from cold a fur from a bear hunted just before winter that the same fur, but from a bear hunted on spring? And that from a squirrel fur? Do quality tags (fine, ragged, etc.) count for protection? What happens to a high quality piece of clothing repaired with low quality material? |

I think it's still pretty much valid.
This all is only a matter of fur/clothing value (in trading) - not the protection. |

I know it has been suggested a million times, but, did you thought adding a bonus linked to the quality of item/materials? Like, fine furs giving better protection from cold, better tools making tasks easier, and so on.

Have been experimenting with different furs. Are you sure it's still the same? My armor now has glutton fur as worse than generic fur in warmth, and I am also having a harder time getting bear fur to go completely green that way it had before...

I don't think those values for fur are valid anymore.
IIRC, Bear and Reindeer furs have equal stats currently, followed by Stag/Elk and then the basic "fur" you can buy from stores. Badger fur is the only one that has yellow warmth besides those I think (but is inferior vs. weapon attacks, or tree related accidents). The valuable (trading wise) furs from small game are quite crap overall. As are lynx, wolf and glutton. I did mark down some of those values in 3.13p3. I'll see if I can still find them. Btw, if you mix different furs then the resulting item will have composite values. So it's not a good idea to use squirrel or hare fur to fix your gear. |

Chaps? And I'd like a guide to better hunt small animals with furs. They are the only trade goods the foreign traders will accept. and I need to trade those masterwork longbow. |
