Hi!
Again I have a problem: In the Wiki I read, that nets must be used 2 days at least, but 4 days at maximum. My problem: The fish in the nets spoil after 2,5 days already, sometimes even sooner (2,25 days). In less than one day I never caught anything (nets are placed in a rapid river tile). Am I doing something wrong? Thanks and greetings from the far north |

From much experience, I can say that fish can only be pulled up after two days. Any less, no fish yet. Any more, they rot. A day starts during a certain time in the mourning. I guess it's hard to explain without a pic. One way to tell when the new day starts is the game usually takes a second to load (for me anyways). This is because during the new day transition, the game must calculate applicable plant growth, food spoilage, character healing, etc. If you aren't able to figure out when the day tranistion happens, set your nets in the afternoon. After two days, you'll have up until the next mourning to check them before spoilage.

thanks. In my opinion the best way is to set the net e.g. at noon and "harvest" 2 days later in afternoon. I just was unsure because of the wiki-note. Thanks again! So the spoiling seems to happen faster than in former versions...

Hello, in my extensive experience with net fishing I'll say that the best time to pick up the net is 2 days later at the same time of the day or earlier, sometimes when I pick it slightly later that 2 days (like by a few hours) they have rotten already. Hope this helps.

Thank you. So it's sure: 2 days are the clue. Not much sooner, not much later. Mystery solved

I always pick my nets 1 day after placing them, and i always have too much fish, it all spoils unless i smoke or salt it (roasted it spoils)
Though i guess i should add that i have 12 nets. My normal routine is to check the nets, and then reset them as soon as i wake up, do a days work, sleep, wake up and eat and drink, check nets, and about %70 of the time, the nets have fish. I tend to never wait 2 days. |
