Lookin For Trouble, and Boy! did i find it

Ok so there i was, shoulder deep in blood. . . oh heckers lets start a lil bit earilier than that!



I have my cabin all built, I have some fish and reindeer roasted meat in the celler(the rest of the leather went to making arrows) and have a smidgen of deer and fish a smoking in me lil smokehut addition.


Got into me punt and headed to the village i discovered bout 3 days ago north of me settlement. The villagers were nice and even had a tidbit of information about a bear prowling around on a big island 2 days south-west.


After tryin to get as many cords as I could from the villages(got Ziltch) me and my trusty punt started to head for said island.


Traversed around the island and made about 3 pitfall trap fences close to the water. Thinking that Mr. Bear will be thirsty and mayby i'll get lucky while scoutin for him. well about 2 trips around the island, i went in for close up view and descided to circle the island again. bout 4 loading screens later, I see some rather huge Tracks headin north/north-west.


Now here's the moment of truth, do i pick up me punt and walk inland or see of the tracks come back to the edge farther north. I'm feeling rather stupi. . . err Brave and head inland.


At first, nothing, i go through another load screen or two until i see that the tracks do indeed go back to he water's edge. Well heck It would be nonsence tryin to track Mr. Bear through all these trees and things and the traveling in me Punt is so much quicker! so I took the saf. . . err more prudent route and got back in me punt.


Luck favors the timid. . . or something like that, for not more than 10 spaces ahead there's Mr. Bear bout 2 spaces from the water's edge. So i ease on up by Mr. Bear(well not by, prolly 5 spaces of water seperate me and Mr. Bear) and pick up me hinting Bow and nothing. . .


Seems like i cannot have my bow and paddle in me hand at the same time. No Worries, just unwield the paddle, and begin to shoot Mr. Bear like it's cool. Now Mr. Bear didn't like this one bit, in fact he was downright mad about the whole encounter. but I keep shooting away and hittin him bout 70% of the time.


Now here is where the problem reared it ugly head. Here I am happily shooting away at Mr. Bear and i'm noticing that I'm running out of arrows, Heck I brought like 20+ arrows. So sure enough, my last Arrow in my inventory and Mr. Bear is still here and He's ANGRY. well I grab my last arrow and look it over make sure there were no burs on it and re-checked the leather. I look Mr. Bear in the eye and say" Smile, you sunofa Ursus arctos horriblis!" Shoot the Arrow and the arrow must of been touched by something. . . awful. the damn thing breaks!


So now i'm in me punt and a Rather angry wounded bear is looking at me with not so nice feelings. So i rewield me paddle move a lil south and rest. Eventually Mr. Bear heads north and I cautiouslly get out of the punt and pick up me arrows. get back into me punt head up farther north and see Mr. Bear again. well this time I shoot one arrow(miss) and then wait till he's right close to me and dispatch Mr. Bear with 3 more arrows.


Well All's finished but the skinning and cleaning. first off I get my umpteen arrow out of Mr. Dead bear and begin to skin the animal.


20 lb fine bear hide later it's time for me to get me hands dirty and get it's meat.


Ok so there i was, shoulder deep in blood, 288 bear cuts, and a 20 pound hide all on me punt. move the punt into the water and head back to me cabin to figure out what the heck am i gonna do with all these bear cuts.
