just got an iron cuirass and according to the talk/screenshot on the wiki http://unrealworld.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:Ghoulsblade it has the exact same coverage area as the iron breastplate is this an error or intentional? I don't know if the protection is different though, the price seems different.

IIRC the coverage is slightly different, like one covers the waist and the other doesn't.

nope, if the screenshot from Ghoulsblade is correct there is no difference sad.gif in the area, maybe there is a difference in the strength.
I will try to get a iron breastplate for an ingame comparison.

Just verified your findings. BP and Cuirass are identical in reported ways except the Cuirass weighs twice as much. Of course that does not definitively say anything, since there could be unknown differences if "dark green superior coverage" or the BP offers no protection from the back etc.

thx, I guess it is a bug, since there are different mail armors (short, long, unnamed) that have different cover areas. I guess the cuirass would also have ailettes (for the shoulders) and probably something for the groin (I haven't seen a iron cover for that yet).
Should I put it into the bug section to be sure?

In the Real World cuirasses covers front and back of the torso. Breatplates only the front.
But I don't know if that also is the case in the UnReal World.
If it is true. It would be a nice feature. So you have deside if you want protect you vulnerable back or save some weight.

I could definitely see it "working" for balance, but not necessarily realism/correctness, if the cuirass covered the areas mentioned (shoulders, chest, abdomen, waist, groin).

There are a lot more discrepancies like that in clothing for warmth. Some items being clearly superior over others for coverage per weight/value. There are a lot if items disabled in my personal version of my clothing mod just because being able to make them makes 3+ others obsolete.
