Title: How Do You Treat Weakness/poisoning?
Description: Suggestions on how to treat diseases..

So far, I survived eating a spoiled meat dish, and now I obtained weakness by eating a werm berry. I need to know which things aren't healthy to eat and if some normally poisonous foods will be edible if cooked in any way, and how to treat, if possible.. <_<

As far as I know there is no actual treatment for weakness/sickness. I always stay put, eat well and sleep whenever I can if I'm feeling ill.

I don't know if a healer in a village can do something about the sickness, but it's worth trying out.

What comes to identifying poisonous berries/fruit/mushrooms, how do you think our ancestors figured it out in the first place? By eating them, of course ;)

Did they also feast on Lombok mushrooms?

Ugh... someone made a chart of all the posionous berrys / mushrooms and posted it on the old board, but I can't remember who... it was less than a year ago, though.

Just checked it out - it was Defenser, though he couldn't find the chart. Instead he directed me to another old post, which says:

"I asked Sami in email and he confirmed, that Boletus mushrooms (known in Finnish as 'tatti') are safe to eat raw and uncooked, Lombok mushrooms are slightly poisonous uncooked but safe when cooked, and Ciamet mushrooms are very poisonous raw, and a bit poisonous even after cooking. That's all he can remember."

Healers do help with weakness, but more than anything you need to eat, drink, and sleep for a few days.

Why doesn't the automatic login function work? Because I make a lot of posts as a guest, like ^^ that one.

I died in a day or so when I ate raw lombok mushrooms, so ciamet mushrooms would probably make you blow up after digesting or something..

I think the best way to find out what is poisonous and what isn't is through trial and error. It's something for your character to look back on and laugh. My current character has only suffered from Weakness once when I ate a spoiled fish before noticing it had gone bad. You'd think the smell shoud have given it away

Trial and error eh? I wish we could find out what was poisonous by letting the village children sample items.

"Hey Georgie, would you like a mushroom?" He smiled. It was one of those beautiful smiles that you just can't say no to.

Georgie smiled back. "I sure would! But my mother told me never to accept gifts from strangers."

"Ah, very wise of your mother. Very wise indeed. Therefore I shall introduce myself. I am Pennyworth, the dancing clown. Now I know you and you know me and we're not strangers, kee-rect?" ;)

Actually I stopped eating mushrooms after I killed couple of my heroes with mushrooms. I knew that some mushrooms were safe to eat, but I didn't know that names keep constant. It is possible to create game where names of some items (like magic scrolls) are randomized each time.

So I just kept living without mushrooms. I am happy to know that now I can eat some mushrooms safely. :)

Well, you can eat any mushrooms to figure out which are poisonous or not as long as you have a sage/healer nearby. Since I hunt a lot and end up with surplus meat, such as a stag kill, I use those to eat newly picked mushrooms and see if they're any good, if I get poisoning, I talk to a sage and give him 20 cuts of meat a few times so I get treated at least twice and the poisoning gets on a good/nice condition. They have saved me a couple of times. :D

I haven't played in a while and I don't have my registration code from Sami yep (I lost it). Can we plant strawberries, blueberries, and mushrooms with agriculture?

Guest - August 6, 2004 03:00 AM (GMT)
What about Rowan berries?

Defenser - August 6, 2004 07:53 AM (GMT)
It seems that I forgot those too <_<

And that table was to uncooked mushrooms, not cooked ;)
