Is there any method to actually cooking dried food? I may be missing something here, but all I can currently do with it is eat it raw, despite going through some of the other options, and I get the impression that eating it dried isn't the ideal option.

just think of it as beef jerky :)

irl much of the dried food would have probably been cut up and used in stews and such or the hunters would take some along when out in the woods being all manly since it's pretty light in the pack and you can just dust off the lint and eat it....

hey Rain, have you experimented with adding dried meat to a recipe yet? if it doesn't work now as a mod it would be a nice addition to the game sometime in the future (hint, hint)

Replace all the meat references in your cookery file to

and they should all accept any type of meat cut - raw, roasted, salted, dried or smoked.

There is a copy of my cook book in the mod section that includes that change plus a few others.
