I'm telling lil story about my new char Slavy Kiessilainen...
___Slavy had lived whit his father since his mother died, as usual in those ages, his mother died soon after Slavy's birth. His father Samez, a legendary axeman, made Slavy to grow a fine young man. Slavy was skillfully in everything, but one day everything changed... In a stormy night, raining hard at summer, Slavy went to woods whit his father.
___Suddenly, like a bolt from clear sky, wolf attacked Slavy. Samez reacted quickly and pushed Slavy away, but... This wolf was an Alpha male from it's pack, it also reacted quicly and attacked Samez throat. It was raining so hard that Samez couldn't see the wolfs quick attack, wolf made and serious cut to Samez throat, Samez was helpless. Luckily Samez didn't have a long painfull death.
___By a rage Slavy attacked that wolf whit his knife, Slavy scored a hit to that wolf's face. Wolf ran away in loud agony. Slavy mourned that night, at the rain, next to Samez body.
___At the daybreak, Slavy stopped crying and pulled himself together. He made a grave to his father, shelter and 20 rocks. Slavy took hes fathers weapon, a great warhammer, what had killed many lives via Samez's hand.

That was a start of Slavys life.

___Slavy had wandered sometime, looking for that wolf, he even named it to "Scarface". Slavy had slain an njerpezi camp and few creatures of mother nature. Slavy was really near to gods of forests, he prayd alot. Slavy had an companion, fair maiden (dog) called "Oona". One day mother nature but Slavy in a test.
___Slavy wasn't good at tracking, tho he was good at foragning and fishing mainly. In the summer he couldn't find much of berries, so he decied to fish whit the 5 nets, from njerpezi camp. Slavy was very strong, he was carrying near 500lbs of armors and weapons from that camp. So he decided to build a little shelter whit fences and he left the those things there.
___Slavy started his journey, journey to find a village. Whit his dog Oona and legendary warhammer he started to travel near those waterous lakes. Unfortunately he didn't find any villages, and was near starvation. He had to survive whit 5 turnips and half eaten rye bread. On the way to shelters, Slavy had "luck". He encoured Bear, Slavy was skillfull and Oona was a great hunting dog. Bear was killed easely, Slavy left the fur and took only the meat.
___When at the shelter slavy cooked and salted that meat. He had past the test greatly, and mother nature gived him a prize. Next day Slavy drawn those nets to shore and for his big suprise... That big amount of fishes he had never seen! Over 200 fishes, and 28 of em was pike-perches! Now he had too much of food!
Slavy cooked and salted em and picked only the delicious looking ones. He had no shovel, he wasn't able to build a cellar.
___After few days Slavy finaly found a village...


I'll continue the story when I'll continue my gaming... It is true I caught those fishes, and my fishing skill was only 48%! Tho, Slavy is best char I ever have had... I scrolled it thousends of times :P

Whats best way to keep meat and others good?

I think dried meat hold the longest.

dried meat in cellar.... but cellar holds every foods kinda long time... and I think they have fixed the bug, where food didn't spoil in animals pack

But you need 30 day to make dried meat.

Thirty days is a pretty long time, but if you drie a lot of meat, i think it´s worth it.

Dry only big fishes. More food in the same time, am I right?

I think you mean "haven't". The bug is still there.

I hope it gets fixed soon, actually... it would give a lot of things to do in the game; if people can't simply go to their animal pen and pick up a dozen pieces of roasted meat, but rather would have to hunt or fish every in-game week, it gives meaning to the game.

I personally enjoy playing the game with no pack animals. You have to keep a food supply available, and you can't simply cut up every carcass you make -- you'll waste it.

I also never use the request for a fox unless I'm in dire straits. =)


(Now that I think about it, allowing meat to go to waste should anger the spirits. "They take meat from my pets and allow it to spoil, when they could have allowed my animals to roam free and alive?!" Perhaps we'd need to be able to sacrifice more than one piece of food at a time, though, or else I could see the spirits becoming very angry when you kill a big animal like an elk -- it's almost impossible to use all of the meat.)

Same here spuzz... I only take the necessary, sacrifise some if I can, then I'll discard rest (If it's bear or so). But it wasn't my fault that I caught over 2 hundred fishes whit one time :lol:

ADD: Ok, Slavy died by suprise attack of Njerpezi :( But I don't want it to end like this, so I'll have to start playing from my last save (After char generation)... It will take a while untill I can continue the story...
