Applying for Adoptable or Wanted Characters

The place to adopt characters:
Here

Setting a character up for adoption:

Previously in unwritten there was a rule that prohibited individuals from creating more then one character at any given time. Things have changed a little. Now you are only limited by your how many characters you can actively play. If the moderators see that you are unable to keep up with multiple characters we may ask you to give up one or at least put it on stand by till you are able to keep up with the rest of the group.

Now adoption relates to that rule because if you want to have any particular character still be involved in the unwritten storyline but don’t have time to play them anymore, you can put it up here. This is Not required at all, just an option if that is what you are interested in.

Another purpose for setting a character up for adoption is to allow other people a chance to become active members in your character’s life. You can put up parents, allies, enemies, children, relations, or any character that you would like to see show up in unwritten but you don’t want to play them.

Its just like when creating a new character, you use the above form, post it in the adoption area and set up your own conditions for adoption. You may ask for an in character post example for example or nothing at all and just allow anyone to play as that character.

Claiming a character from the adoption area:

Now profiles of wanted characters will be placed up by anyone in unwritten, and every owner or founder of those character can accept or reject someone who applies for them. Make sure you read and understand the limits that they put up along with the profile. Some examples of things they might ask are: role play samples, years role playing, other sites role played on, writing level, or nothing at all. Once they say if its alright or not, go ahead and make that character into an account and get to rping! We will move it to the 'New and Current members' list.

The thread that contains all the adoptable characters is special in that guests can reply to previously created threads, but they can not make new topics. This is so you do not need to create an account to ask for a character. But if you do happen to create an account just to ask for an adoptable character, just ask an admin if they can change your name to the character that you applied for. They will be more then willing to help.

So you have decided what character you would like to apply for.
The next step is post on that characters’ thread and wait for the original owner to respond with a yes or no. (This is only necessary for the characters’ that request permission before creation, the ones that don‘t ask you can skip that part.)
Next you create your account on unwritten with the name of the character you applied for.
You can being posting as soon as you log in to your new character.

Make sure you have read the rules to posting before joining, it will make the admins & mods happy.
