Shapeshifting: Rayne is able to shapeshift into a wide variety of animals. With this ability she can transform herself into the complete form of any chosen animal. This not only gives her the appearence of the animal but the senses and natural instinct as well. Her range is not just limited to breeds of animals either, she is able to easily retain several forms of the same breed. A cat for example, she can shift from a small black kitten to a large ginger cat. As long as she as seen the animal she can copy it's figure and shift into a replica. Though Rayne is able to shift into the form of any mammal, land or sea, as well as bird. Rayne has begun to attempt shifting into mythical creatures but has only accomplished the dragon thus far. Due to an odd twist in her molecular shifting Rayne is able to retain the clothes in her two legger form so that when shifting from animal to human she is not left in the nude.

Wild Magic: Rayne was not only graced with the ability to shift into animal forms but she was also given what they have come to call 'Wild Magic'. This new twist in magic is what creates a bond between Rayne and animals. This bond gives Rayne the ability to touch and even control an animal's mind. She is able to sense the presence of animals in a five mile radius and even touch their minds with her own. In touching their minds Rayne opens up a sort of telepathic wavelink between her and the animal giving her the ability to speak to them using her telepathy or even with spoken english. When in her two legger form animals are the only beings she is able to communicate with her telepathy.

Telepathy: Rayne has a small talent for telepathy. While she cannot read people's minds she has developed the ability to speak with her mind when in animal form. Thus giving her a way she can communicate when shapeshifted around other people. When in her two legged form though, Rayne loses the ability to speak through her mind to humans.

Rayne enjoys comfortable clothes over anything too dressy. When around the school she tends to wear jeans and cute but comfortable tops. Such as vintage loose shirts that show off her slim figure without necessarily clinging to her body. While she normally moves around barefoot she also enjoys her black converse shoes. When it comes to dressing up Rayne knows how to look good. For a night on the town she normally adornes a showy dress and high heels to show off her nicely toned legs. She never requires much make up, a touch of eyeliner here, a bit of mascara there is all she puts on. Even when she goes out she doesn't bother with heavy make up, her natural beauty says it all.

Personality:

For someone who had a life full of human abuse and ignorance Rayne has a suprisingly upbeat personality. Sarcastic and witty Rayne is never afraid to speak up and tell what she's thinking. Her jokes can be a little confusing sometimes but her friends have learned to expect it from her. While some people may not get them as long as she gets to laugh she's happy. Even if no one else laughs with her. Unafraid to speak exactly what she's thinking Rayne tends to take people by surprise. A little blunt and maybe rude Rayne has a habit of asking personal questions merely because she was thinking of it at the time. No thinking before speaking for Rayne.

Even though she may be a big talker Rayne also can double back and become a good listener. Never one to turn down a friend Rayne is always there for a needed shoulder to cry on or an ear to talk into. Although Rayne is always happy to listen her advice tends to be a bit....well original. Having spent a length of time in the company of only animals Rayne has a tendancy to think a little bit differently then other people. Especially when it comes to relationships, parental advice, or friendship problems. It's all still odd to her and she's still getting the hang of somethings.

A large part of Rayne's friendship is a neverending protector. Whether it's physical or verbal Rayne is completely unafraid to stand up and push a bully down. At Xavier this is usually unneccessary but there's always a bully in the bunch somewhere. Maybe it's the animal instincts that come out in her but she can get a little vicious when it comes to protecting her friends. She always has their backs.

Having missed out on a couple years of school as a kid Rayne loves to learn. Always eager in class she takes everything in like a sponge. Naturally intelligent Rayne holds onto a lot of the information and holds it to her memory. This yearning to learn doesn't just end at her studies but flows through her whole life. Rayne finds humnans so fascinating, the way they act and beat around the bush about everything. Sometimes Rayne will find herself sitting on her own just watching groups of people. Just studying them, finding how they act around each other and how they act when apart. It's a fairly interesting thing that Rayne never avoids doing.

Personal Secrets:

During Rayne's time in the forest she was attacked by a mob of humans. When she was wounded the pain infected every animal within a three mile radius. The animals, out of anger, turned on any human in sight and almost all were killed in an attempt to protect Rayne from them.

Rayne at one point almost lost herself while running with a pack of wolves whom adopted her. If it had not been for Bartollo, her stallion packmate, she would have completely forgotten all human instinct. Thankfully the horse kept her at least partially aware of her human self so that she didn't fall away.

History:

As a child Rayne was never really accepted by anyone. When she was two years old her parents decided to buy a dog. The dog was named Scoop and quickly became Rayne's best friend. Rayne didn't even try to make it that way. At two she was fascinated by the new dog, what kid wouldn't be, but it was the dog that became attached first. Rayne would be walking around the house (or crawling) and Scoop would be right behind her. If she was walking and fell Scoop would be there to brace her back to her feet or lick away her tears. It was a fast friendship that developed more than any human relationship Rayne knew as a child. Her parents were busy people and often left her with a nanny who enjoyed tv and martini's more than Rayne. So Rayne was left with the dog.

When Rayne was five years old she found that if she sat with her hand on Scoop for a long period of time weird changes would occur. At first it was her vision, it would sharpen and the colors would slowly dissolve. Rayne was entertained by this and interested as well. Soon her hearing began to sharpen and if she touched her ears they were furry and floopy, just like Scoops. This may have frightened the nanny but Rayne found it amazing. She thought it was normal. Her family disagreed. If they had ignored her before it was nothing compared to what they did the day they came home and found her with dog paws and ears. After a week of freaking out they decided to just, leave her alone. If they were home they ignored her, but they were hardly home and the nanny was let go. That was until they had Delilah. She was their new start and they adored her. As Rayne grew she found her family unattractive so she turned to the children she went to school with. By the age of seven she had developed the ability to turn into a female look alike of Scoop without him nearby. One day she showed a kid at her school and he also freaked out. Screaming he ran inside and Rayne was kicked out of the school.

Soon her family feared her, her friends left her, and her school mates ran when she came near them. As a result Rayne turned to animals as her source of a social life. For a few years they were her only allies against the awful kids who would throw rocks and nasty names her way. Her family cast her out of their home and she took to the woods of Italy. There she lived with random animals, stealing for food and eating what she found in the forest. She spent years in the company of only animals, completely cut off from all human contact. She became one of them, shifting as she pleased and living as an animal. The people who lived in her old town feared her and often sent groups of men to hunt down the "demon child." She was nothing in their eyes, something to be hunted and killed. She ran from them with a pack of wolves who took her in as their own. Sometimes she ran as a human, sometimes she ran as a wolf but she was never accepted by two leggers. They shot at her, caught her in their traps, beat her, but never were given the chance to kill her. Finally the X-men were sent to find her and after weeks of running from them she came to her senses. Her animals hated to see her go and begged her not to give in but she knew she needed help. The first few weeks at Xaviers were rough for Rayne but eventually she fell into the flow of things though she knew she'd never belong with them.
