I've decided to do something. I'm going to create a reality where Captain N was a much more successful series. What changes will I make. In one sense not much. While it will have many more episodes, characters, and Video Worlds, it will also have all the same episodes, with the exception of "When Motherbrain Rules." In addition, these episodes use the same, characters, animation style, background music, format, and methodology. In addition to having more episodes, the producers of Captain N and others involved made a strategic to air the one year earlier instead of waiting until 1989. So there you have it. Captain N would begin it's long and successful run in 1988. NBC would order 13 episodes of Captain N and give it a half hour time slot. Here are the list of episodes that aired in the first season.

Note: An * before the title means that the episode already exists.

#1. *Kevin in Videoland
First Aired September 10, 1988

Kevin Keene is summoned to Videoland by an ancient prophecy in order to help Princess Lana save Videoland from Motherbrain and her evil forces.

#2. Motherbrain's Revenge
First Aired September 17, 1988

Having been defeated by Captain N too many times (I guess one time is too many), Motherbrain comes up with a plan to divide and conquer. She leads Captain N away from the others with a false emergency so she can test his ability in different Game Worlds and force him to use up all his power. Meanwhile, she uses Dr Wily's Warp Zone Blocker to trap the others inside the Palace of Power and prevent them from coming to Captain N's rescue, except for Simon who followed Captain N to try to show him up.

Notes:
1. Feature Song: "The Heat is On" by Glenn Frey.
2. This episode introduces the common video worlds of Castlevania, Mount Icarus, and Megaland.
3. This episode also introduces Dr Wily.

#3. *Mr and Mrs Motherbrain
First Aired September 24, 1988

In a desperate effort to achieve piece in Videoland, Princess Lana calls a summit between her side and liege of darkness in order to achieve long lasting piece. Little does she know that Motherbrain other motives. Meanwhile, Simon borrows one of Kid Icarus' love arrows in order to make Lana fall in love with him, only he misfires and hits himself, making him fall in love with Motherbrain.

#4. The Incredible Shrinking Captain N
First Aired October 1, 1988

With Dr Wily's new shrink ray, Motherbrain's two goons manage to shrink Captain N and the other heroes except for Duke. It up to Kevin's faithful friend to help the others return to normal and foil Motherbrain's evil plans.

Notes:
1. Feature Song: "Wipe Out" by the Surfaris.
2. Duke plays a larger role in this episode than usual.

#5. *How's Bayou
First Aired October 8, 1988

Motherbrain devises a plan to eliminate Captain N by drawing him into Bayouland, the one Video world he could never beat.

#6. The Power Grab
First Aired October 15, 1988

Motherbrain and Dr Wily use an electronic device to transfer all the Power Mount Icarus to Metroid. This will make Metroid stronger and Mount Icarus defenseless and vulnerable to attack. Princess Lana responds by lending Mount Icarus the Sun Stone that powers the Palace of Power. This way, Mount Icarus has temporary power. With that the heroes split up. Kevin, Lana, and Duke go to Metroid to stop Motherbrain, Kid Icarus and Megaman decide to help the Icaronians (I can't think of a better name for them right now), and Simon is left by himself to guard the Palace (Poor Simon, he must be afraid of the dark).

Notes:
1. Feature Song: "Shut Down" by the Beach Boys.

#7. King of Fakes
First Aired October 22, 1988

The heroes end up rescuing a mysterious man in a meadow nearby. This man turns out to be none other than King Charles, Lana's father. They invite the King into the Palace had tell him all about their adventures and about Captain N. However, it was all a trick. The King turns out to be Dr Wily using a holographic illusion. With that, Motherbrain and her forces march into the Palace and throw our heroes into the dungeon. Luckily, they manage to escape via Simon's live whip and send the forces of darkness packing once again. Lana is disapointed that she didn't get to see her father for real, but Kevin assures her that he will return for good one day.

Notes:
1. Feature Song: "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell

#8. The Dark Game Master
First Aired October 29, 1988

Dr Wily uses Kevin's DNA to create an evil clone which he calls the Dark Game Master. He is stronger, smarter, and more powerful than anything Captain N could ever hope to be. He can also anticipate each move that the heroes make. The Dark Game Master literally sends Kevin into a river with a waterfall nearby. Then he uses the pause feature on his powerpad to stop the others and deliver them to Motherbrain. Meanwhile, since Kevin's powerpad is shorted out by the water, his only hope is an overhead branch at the edge of the river (isn't it convenient that these devices always seem to appear in the right place at the right time). Captain N escapes and heads to Metroid where he is confronted by his clone. The fake Captain N Challenges Kevin to a race to the top of Mount Olympus. If Kevin wins, the clone will tell him where his friends are. If the clone wins, Kevin will be destroyed. During the race, Kevin doesn't do so well and falls way behind. However, when the clone uses up all his power, Kevin zips right past him and wins the race. He explains that his key to victory was preserving his power until he really needed it. The clone gets angry and is about to renege on his part of the deal when he forgets that he is out of power. Kevin uses this opportunity to mess with some of the wiring and get past Motherbrain's forces to rescue his friends. Kevin leaves his clone behing which causes a big bang (and you thought Kevin didn't know mechanics).

#9 The Journey Home
First Aired November 5, 1988

Kevin misses his home world and begins to wonder if he really has a purpose in Videoland. Lana assures him that that he is in the right place since the prophecy gave him the power to save Videoland. Kevin is still not convinced since he never saw himself as the hero of Videoland and would like to return to his normal. Simon insincerely offers to help Kevin pack his bags. Since Kevin really seems to want to go home, Lana and the rest of the heroes offer to find any possible way to help him. Of course, Motherbrain over hears this through her all knowing mirror and orders Eggplant Wizard and King Hippo to set up an ambush. Back at the Palace of Power, Kid Icarus suggests a way that might just work. It just so happens that on Mount Icarus, a warp to a mysterious appears on the night of the 12th full moon. That just happens to be tonight. However, many believe it to be just a legend and even if it is true, nobody knows where the warp really leads. To add to that, it is on the top of Mount Athens and the journey is very treacherous. Kevin doesn’t care. He will do anything to get back home. The team sets out. Kid Icarus explains that once the warp opens it will only remain so for a few minutes. As they arrive on Mount Icarus Eggplant and Hippo attack them. However, things don’t go the way they planned as the two flunkies are easily beaten back. It’s on to plan B. Follow them until Captain N goes through the warp and then attack. As our heroes begins their ascent, various creatures such as nettlers and reapettes attack them. Soon afterwards, they reach the top and sure enough the warp appears. Kevin starts to have doubts and wonders if he should leave the others to fend for themselves. Lana assures him that they have learned a lot and have the skills to defend Videoland. She urges Kevin go home and regain his normal life. Kevin and begin to enter through the warp when suddenly, Motherbrain and her minions come out from nowhere and snatch Lana, Simon, Megaman, and Kid Icarus. Even then, Lana urges Kevin to step through the warp. After some soul searching, Kevin runs away from the warp in order to save his friends he must hurry though, since Motherbrain already has a head start. Back at the bottom of the mountain, Motherbrain seem to think Captain N has abandoned the others when suddenly, Kevin shows up to free them. He then fires his zapper at rock on the side. This causes massive amounts of water to flow out and wash Motherbrain and her goons away. Everyone is happy to see Kevin again except Simon who merely accepts Kevin’s return. Kevin explains that he knows why Videoland is the right place for him and it is his destiny to guide them to victory.

They are thwarted however, by the swift response from our heroes as well as some healthy vegetables thrown by Princess Toadstool and Toad. Seeing that he no longer has his army, Koopa retreats and vows to get his revenge. Motherbrain sees this through mirror on Metroid and gets an idea to join forces with King Koopa to eliminate our heroes and takeover the Mushroom Kingdom and the rest of Videoland. After a rather lousy first impression of King Hippo and the Eggplant Wizard, Koopa decides to join them. While Koopa and Motherbrain are busy robbing shiploads of Zebitite to power up Metroid, Wart and his Hog Mafia condront our heroes. He actually does quite well by kidnapping Princess Toadstool and trapping the others. Luckily, they escape with Toad's magic potion and head for Metroid via Albatoss express (imagine how that would look onscreen). Inside Metroid, Motherbrain is showing wart the goods when our heroes suddenly show up. Kevin blasts the Zebitite with his zapper, causing it to be destroyed. Wart is naturally upset by this and is about let Motherbrain and King Koopa have it when Motherbrain pushes a button a control panel. Wart falls through the trap door into the desert where he is surrounded by cobrat.

With a "selfish" potion whipped up by Dr Wily, she will poison the water supplies in Mount Icarus, Megaland, and Castlevania. With the citizens fighting amongst themselves, she will easily be able to conquer Videoland. Within moments, people all over Videoland have been effected by the potion and sure enough, they are fighting amongst themselves. Lana sees this and tries to stop them but she has no success. Will our heroes be able to stop Motherbrain, will they restore Videoland to civility, and will Simon learn the true spirit of Christmas?

Feature Song: "Jingle Bell Rock" by Bobby Helms

That was the first season of Captain N. It did very well so NBC decided to order 26 episodes for the next season and give it a one hour time slot. Also, next season is rumored to be the last season of the Smurfs which had been running on NBC since 1991. The Smurfs have been by far NBC's most popular Saturday morning cartoon. Will the Saturday morning line up be just as popular without it and can Captain N be the same success? Only time will tell.

I'll post season 2 up either tomorrow. In the meantime, I'd be open to any questions, comments, or suggestions anybody else might have.

Looks pretty good so far.

Still, Dr. Wily seems to have a bit too prominate a roll here. I'd tone down his inventions a little bit and let Mother Brain come up with at least some of the stuff.

The shrinking episode was a classic idea. The Dark Game Master
sounds a bit too much like the Most dangerous Game Master though.

While I like having the Mushroom Kingdom appear, not having Mario or Luigi seems like a bit of a tease.

Thanks for the input. I'll keep in mind what you said about Dr Wily. With "The Dark Gamemaster," I knew it would have some resemblence to "The Most Dangerous Gamemaster" no matter what I did but I wanted to have an episode where a clone of Kevin would become a threat but was not unbeatable. As for not having Mario and Luigi, The whole idea was that the Super Mario Bros Super Show would a spin off from these episodes, which happened before they arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom.

The spin off idea works, but it also needs to be followed up. Once Mario and Luigi do appear, you may want to feature them on the show. You could even bring in the old baddie that mario and Kevin share, Donkey Kong.

I'll keep that in mind. I also double checked about Wily. Apparently, he made an invention in every episode that made up except the Mushroom Kingdom episodes. I certainly use that plot device less frequently in the next season.

I also want to add, in June of 1989, Nintendo came out with the Captain N Game Pack. It includes Metroid, Castlevania, Kid Icarus, Megaman, and Punch-Out all for just $29.99.

The heroes quickly arrive to try and stop her but are easily thwarted. Motherbrain then goes on to conquer Megaland and Mount Icarus as well. Meanwhile, the N-Team discovers the Power Glove's weakness. Like Kevin's power pad and zapper, the Power Glove has limited powers. It can only be restored by heat. They figure that Motherbrain will attempt to restore its power at the Kongoland horizon in a couple hours at sunrise. They immediately head over there only to find that Donkey Kong is blocking the horizon. DK actually grabs Megaman in his clutches. Kevin motions for the others to go ahead while he tries to save Megaman. Lana, Simon, and Kid Icarus arrive at the horizon and sure enough Motherbrain and her goons are there. She was prepared for company and has trapped the N-Team members in a net up above. Meanwhile, Kevin has managed to break Megaman loose from DK's clutches and manages to lure him off the edge of a cliff (Way to go Kevin. Give Donkey Kong another reason to fight against you at the Videolympics). Meanwhile, back at the horizon, the Power Glove is almost nearly all charged up. Kevin, Megaman, and Duke arrive just in time and Kevin zaps the others free. They land on Motherbrain, causing her to drop the Power Glove. Duke fetches the Glove before Hippo and Eggplant can grab it. With that, Kevin uses the Glove to send Motherbrain and her flunkies flying back to Metroid. After that, it is returned to Mike Tyson who pledges to safeguard the Power Glove.

Everyone notices how strangely Simon has been acting so Megaman tells them what happened. Lana explains that the only way to stop the curse is to defeat the same Grim Reaper. The N-Team gets a distress signal from Castlevania indicating that Motherbrain is attacking. Everyone goes except Simon who is just too scared. Unfortunately everyone gets captured except for Kevin. He returns to the Palace and tells Simon that he has to face his fear. He finally does so with a little help from Kevin. Kevin then goes to help the others only to get captured as well. After a bit of a struggle, Simon finally defeats the Grim Reaper and then goes to free the others and they defeat Motherbrain once again.

30. A Videoland Family Reunion
First Aired November 4, 1989

This episode starts with Wily showing Motherbrain a device that can pinpoint the location of the other end of the Ultimate Warp Zone and replicate its effects. Motherbrain asks why that's important. Dr Wily says that he is going to bring Captain N's parents to Videoland so that they can help conquer it. Motherbrain says that they would never destroy their own son. Dr Wily says that they will when he's through with them. Sure enough the Warp Zone replicator brings Kevin's parents to Videoland. Mr and Mrs Keene are confused as to where they are. Motherbrain explains that they are on Metroid and she has called them here to help her destroy Captain N and conquer Videoland. They are a bit shocked to learn that their son is in this world but they then get back to their senses and say they will never help Motherbrain. Dr Wily says they will when he's through with them and whips out his brainwashing equipment. Later, at the Palace of Power, the N-Team gets an alert that Megaland is under attack. They see numerous robots and mechanical walker being operated by two people in a cockpit. Kevin is shocked to see his parents in Videoland and even more shocked to see that they are responsible for this. He just can't attack his own parents so the other N-Team members go on without him. Unfortunately they they are all overwhelmed and taken prisoner. Then, Motherbrain informs Kevin that she has captured his friends and he has five minutes to show up or she will destroy them (as if she wouldn't do so anyway). Kevin now has to choose between the N-Team and his own parents. He decides to take a chance that he can reason with his parents. When he confronts them, his parents use a mechanical arm from the walker and they are about to crush Kevin flat. Kevin tries desperately to reason with them and make his parents come to their senses. It appears to be working. Then suddenly, his parents drop kevin to the ground. Then they approach Motherbrain and company. Mr and Mrs Keene grab Motherbrain and her minions and toss them all the way to Metroid or oblivion, whatever makes the most sense to you. The Keenes hop out of the walker and we get a warm moment between Kevin and his parents. His mother then asks Kevin if he's been in Videoland the whole time. Kevin explains the whole situation about the Ultimate Warp Zone. His father wonders how they will get home. Megaman points to the Warp Zone Replicator that Dr Wily left behind. Unfortunately, it was badly damaged and will only last a few minutes before it explodes. Mr and Mrs Keene prepare to go through Warp with Kevin but he says he's staying. His mother then demands that he go with them. Kevin explains in a very emotional way that he needs to stay in Videoland for now but he will return as soon as possible. His mother reluctantly excepts that and his says that they love him no matter what. They then proceed through the warp.

The N-Team decides to try to rescue the Princess while the King stalls. They will have to get across the treacherous Parsley Forrest before reaching Pumpkin Castle. You're having fun with these, aren't you? laugh.gif

The Powerglove episode sounds intresting, but it seems there's a bit too much going on for just one episode. I'd suggest either splitting it into two episdoes or cutting down some of the worlds.

Kung-Fu fighting doesn't seem to fit either. maybe Sixteen tons or We will rock you.

When Gravity flips sounds good, I particularly like the episdoe song choice. Eggy and Hippo should have some role after they get kicked out though.

Robot Reble gets major points for the title alone, plus the Yellow Devil/Rock Monster is a major plus.

Motherbrain's island is one I'd actually have to see to have a real opinnion on.

I'm really diapointed that you didn't use Pinabll Wizard as your song for Pinball Mechanics.

QUOTE (mogoldmember @ May 29 2005, 09:04 PM)
I also want to add, in June of 1989, Nintendo came out with the Captain N Game Pack. It includes Metroid, Castlevania, Kid Icarus, Megaman, and Punch-Out all for just $29.99.

Word. If I ever saw that, I would have been all over it.

Ok, here we go again. Starting in the third season in 1990, NBC will air another 26 episodes of Captain N. It will introduce a new character, a life sized addition of the Gameboy console to the N-Team. Also, You will get a chance to see episodes bases on Ninja Gaiden, Bionic Commando, an episode with Samus, and a two part episode where Kevin travels to the future and Motherbrain rules Videoland. NBC will also air 26 fifteen-minute episodes of Super Mario Bros 3 in a half-hour slot. The producers of Super Mario Bros offered to Captain N people a chance to split the time slot with a half hour of Captain N in between two fifteen-minute episodes of Super Mario Bros and they would share equal time for at least two years. The Captain N prodecers turned it down because they wanted 26 episodes instead of 13 to air that season. Ironically, the Super Mario Bros Super Show did slightly better than Captain N last year when it aired on the Family channel, despite being a spinoff. None-the-less, it was probably a good idea for Captain N not to bound itself to another show. The Captain N producers also released their first animated film in theatres in June 1991. They also released a couple of CDs. One was the soundtrack from the movie and the other one included various original songs from the 1990 season. Anyway, I will do something different for this season. I'm going to list the episodes first. Then, I will summarize four or five at a time and I will only do the ones I made up.

Here are four episodes from the 1990 season.

43. Skate World Blues

The N-Team has arrived at Skate World to have some fun. They check into Rodney's skate shop. Then, all of a sudden, three skateboarders zoom by and use a high tech weapon to blow out the skate shop windows. Then, they go and ransack the area some more, knocking down trash cans, spraying graffiti on the walls, and even hopping on the hood of a police car. Rodney tells the N-Team that a skateboard gang has been trashing the area for about a week. A kid with a skateboard, who looks just one year younger than Kevin sneaks in the back. Rodney takes notice of him and we learn that he is Lester, Rodney's son. Rodney asks him where he's been. Lester hesitates for a moment, then just brushes him off and leaves. Rodney explains that ever since Lester started hanging out with this skateboard gang, he's gotten intonothing but trouble. Outside, in the back of the skate shop, Lester is confronted by three bigger skaters, the leader being named Bruno. These are the same people who caused trouble earlier. Bruno gets angry, thinking that Lester sold them out. Lester tells him that he said nothing. Meanwhile, the N-Team has decided to have some fun. Simon and Gameboy have decided to go to the jousting area and Simon ends up flat on his face. Kevin, Lana, and Megaman are at the freestyle/high jump area and Kid Icarus and Duke are at the racing area. Meanwhile, it turns out that Bruno and his gang are in league with Motherbrain. She wants the gang to capture the N-Team and deliver them to her. Bruno thought that all they had to do was draw them out. Motherbrain reminds them of their deal and order the to finish their job. Lester overhears them in the back. Meanwhile, Kid Icarus and Duke are continuing their race. One the gang members throws a net over Kid Icarus, causing him to crash to the ground. He he approaches Kid, Duke comes up growling. He just puts a mussel over Duke's beak and then carries the two helpless N-Team members off. Meanwhile in the jousting area, another gang member approaches Simon and challenges him to a match. Simon gleefully excepts. Cheating, the gang member trips Simon. Then he uses what looks like Eggplant Wizard's staff to tie Simon and Gameboy up with a zucchini rope. At the free style area, Kevin decides check out some of the other arenas. Then Bruno comes up and knocks Megaman down. Then, he throws the helpless midget at Lana and proceeds to tie them up. As Kevin goes to check out the other areas, Lester comes up and tries to warn him. A blast is shot in Kevin's direction and would have hit him if Lester hadn't knocked him down. Then Bruno and his gang give chase to both Kevin and Lester. Bruno uses a glowing box to release various creatures from Metroid which Kevin easily blows away with him zapper. When the two of them are finally in the clear, Lester explains the whole story. Bruno and his gang needed a place to stay, and Motherbrain offered them that as long as they helped her capture the N-Team. Kevin has a plan but it will require a distraction. Back at the hang out, Bruno tells Motherbrain that they six of the N-Team members, but Motherbrain wants Captain N. With that, Kevin arrives and the gang give chase. As soon as he's in the clear, Lester sneaks in through a ventilation shaft and frees the other N-Team members. Meanwhile, the gang has Kevin cornered. He tries his powerpad but the energy has run out. Then, the other N-Team members show up. Simon uses his whip to tie up one member, Kid Icarus uses his glue arrow to keep another one stuck in the ground, and Megaman picks up Bruno. Like a total coward, Bruno begs Megaman to put him down. Lana asks them why they are helping Motherbrain. Bruno responds that they had no choice. Kevin explains that they always have a choice between good and evil and Motherbain is just using them. He pleads with them to switch sides. At the hide out, the gang is at the hide out with Motherbrain and her two dimwits. She is waiting for the N-Team to be delivered. Bruno opens a door and the N-Team pops out surprising Motherbrain. She is naturally angry with the gang for betraying but doesn't really have time to do anything as she, Eggpant Wizard, and King Hippo are knocked back to Metroid. Back at the skate shop, Rodney offers the gang a place to live if they work off the damage they did to his store and the skating arena.

46. A Gameboy adventure

Eggplant wizard, King Hippo, and many of Dr Wily's robots attack Megaland. As the N-Team responds, Dr Wily slips a bug into one Gameboy's circuits. Gameboy then goes crazy and starts blasting everything around him. Everyone freaks out, including Eggplant and Hippo. The N-Team finally get to Gameboy and shut him off. They take him to be examined by Dr Right. The good doc says that a bug was planted inside of Gameboy and the only way to reverse it is at the source. He plans to transport the N-Team inside of Gameboy so they can do just that. Lana, Kevin, Simon, and Duke go while Kid Icarus and Megaman stand guard in case anything else happens. Inside of Gameboy, the N-Team must break through a blocked alleyway, ride across the ocean in a balloon, and take out the source in a solar field. Meanwhile, Motherbrain sends Eggplant and Hippo back to Megaland to hijack a shipment of Zebitite. Just as the two idiots are about to accomplish their task, Megaman and Kid Icarus arrive via warp wagon and easily beat them back.

Notes:
1. Feature Song: "I Feel Alive", parody of "Stayin Alive" by The BeeGees
2. Based on Alleyway, Balloon Kid, and Solar Striker for Gameboy

47. A Blob Story.

While bowling somewhere in the Palace of Power, the N-team discovers a Blob who loves jellybeans. Even more, whenever the blob eats a jellybean, it turns into a different shape and gains unique powers. Everyone gets attached to it but Lana decides to send a message throughout Videoland so that the owner can reclaim it. Luckily, it belongs to a redheaded boy named Rudy who lost his blob, Bobo. Unfortunately, Motherbrain and his minions capture Bobo and brainwash him to serve their own evil purposes. They later use Bobo to help them takeover York City, the home of Rudy and Bobo. The N-Team and Rudy arrive at the two mile high tower to stop Motherbrain, but they are blocked by a force field. They now have to climb up all the way from the bottom. As they approach the top, they easily beat off enemies from Metroid "A Boy and His Blob" as well as Hippo and Eggplant. Then, after a little convincing, Bobo joins Rudy again and they go to confront Motherbrain. Rudy feeds Bobo a jellybean that turns him into a giant bowling ball and sends Motherbrain Soaring through the air. Later, the mayor of York city thanks the N-Team, Rudy, and Bobo for their courage.

49. Divided We Fall

Kid Icarus is watching tv. A bunch of Greek looking men are scaling the mountain. Then all of a sudden, Simon comes by and abruptly changes the channel. This creates on argument between the two. While they are arguing, Megaman turns the channel to yet another station. All three of them begin to argue. Basically, Kid Icarus wants to watch "Videoland Gladiators", Simon wants to watch "Goblins and Vampires", and Megaman wants to watch the "Robot Demolition Derby." Suddenly, Megaman accidently blasts the tv. Princess Lana comes by and she isn't too happy. She sends the three of them to clean up the kitchen. However, instead of cleaning up, the three of them continue to fight. Suddenly, the Palace receives a distress call from Kawi, the head of the Wakibi Tribe on Kongoland. Kawi tells Lana and Kevin that there have been a series of earthquakes recently and fears that there might be an evil presence lurking underneath. Lana decides to check it out while Kevin keeps an eye on the "wrecking crew" in the kitchen. When Lana warps to Kongoland, she is suddenly captured in a net. It turns out that the distress call was all a set up. The Wakibis take Lana to a volcano and leave her hanging overhead. Kawi explains that soon, the volcano will erupt and the Wakibis will rule Kongoland. Lana will be a sacrifice to make the volcano stronger and she will be out of Motherbrain's way. Kawi has apparently joined forces with the ruler of Metroid. Meanwhile, at the Palace of Power, Kevin realizes that Lana has been missing for quite a while and decides that the team should go look for. He gets the team together, including Megaman, Kid Icarus, and Simon who are still fighting. as they begin their search throughout Kongoland, the three video game heroes continue to squabble. Eventually, Kevin gets tired of all this and he, Duke, and Gameboy forge ahead, only to be captured by the Wakibis as well. Back with Megaman, Kid Icarus, and Simon, they are still fighting when Donkey Kong comes by. They finally get their heads together and use a little teamwork to get away. Then, Megaman and Kid Icarus fight off the Wakibis and rescue the others. Then, there is a huge rumbling inside. The volcano is about to erupt and will destroy all of Kongoland. Motherbrain and the Wakibis leave the N-Team trapped inside the volcano. Megaman uses his ice slasher on the lava to try and slow it down. Then, Simon arrives with the warp wagon so they can all escape and Kid Icarus uses his seal arrow to block the lava from escaping. Fortunately, it works and Kongoland is safe. Back at Kongoland Village, the Wakibis are now servants of Prince Plenty with Donkey Kong as the enforcer. Oh, and Simon, Kid Icarus, and Megaman begin to argue again, this time over who was the hero of this mission.

Here are two more episodes.

51. The Kingdom of Eden

Princess Lana, Kevin, and Duke are being shown around the land of Eden by Lolo, the greatest tour guide in this world. He then shows them the Northeast Castle. He tells the N-Team that inside a treasure chest in the castle lies the most powerful weapon in Videoland, the Grand Cannon and that Lolo is the only one with the key. Lana gets an idea to retrieve the Cannon in in order to contain Motherbrain and other evil forces. The others agree, however, Lolo warn that the Castle has been inhabited by evil spirits lately. Of course, Motherbrain was watching the whole time and wants the Grand Cannon for herself. She decide to use her 'follow the N-Team and steal the item once they reach it' approach once again. This time, she will come along personally. With that, Kevin, Lana, Duke, and Lolo set off through the Northeast tower, easily beating the baddies that they encounter. Once they reach the treasure chest, Lolo opens it up with his key and retrieves the Cannon only to have Motherbrain snatch it with her tentacle. After a bit of gloating, Motherbrain, King Hippo, and Eggplant Wizard leave, trapping the good guys inside the Castle. Kevin zaps the rubble blocking their pathway Lana sends out an alert for the other N-Team members to meet them. Meanwhile, Motherbrain attaches the Grand Cannon to the outer weapons systems of Metroid. Then, she tells Eden over an intercom to surrender or she will destroy their world. Princess Lala, the ruler of Eden tells Motherbrain that she will never surrender. Motherbrain demonstrates the Grand Cannon's power by blowing up an entire mountain. She then gives Eden one hour to surrender before she destroys the entire kingdom. Meanwhile, the other N-Team members have arrived. The N-Team, Lolo, and Princess Lala discuss what to do next. Lolo mentions one possibility. The Light Laser can control any weapon, but it is located in the tower by the shore and guarded by the Great Demon. Kevin, Lana, Kid Icarus, Duke, and Lolo decide to head to the tower while the others try to stall Motherbrain. As the heroes go through the tower, they easily beat off the enemies before they have great difficulty against the Great Demon. They finally beat GD and claim the Light Laser, and not a moment too soon. The hour has passes, Metroid baddies have surrounded Lala, Simon, Megaman, and Gameboy, and Motherbrain awaits their answer. Upon seeing the others with the Light Laser, Lala says she will never surrender. Mothorbrain prepared for destruction, but before she can do anything, Lolo activates the Light Laser and aims it straight for the Cannon. Rather than detaching from Metroid, the Laser just seems to drag Metroid in any-which-way, throwing Motherbrain completely off balance. She Orders King Hippo and Eggplant Wizard to stop them. Hippo tackles Lolo, forcing him to forfeit the Light Laser. Luckily, Lana catches it and with one final stroke manages to detach the Cannon. With the Cannon out of her possession and her minions defeated, Motherbrain has no other choice but to retreat. With that, Kevin and Megaman blast the Grand Cannon to bits so it can't do anymore damage.

Notes:
1.Feature Song: "Finding Our Way Home", parody of "Twist and Shout" by the Beatles.
2. Based on The Adventures of Lolo for NES

52. Samus Returns

Deep within the outer reaches, a mysterious bounty hunter faces off against space pirates. She evades the enemy forces but is then pulled down mysteriously and winds up on Kongoland. The N-team is alerted via distress signal and comes to the rescue. Lana immediately recognizes her as Samus Aran, the greatest Bounty Hunter in Videoland. She mysteriously disappeared after pursuing Motherbrain three years ago. When Samus regains wakes up at the Palace of Power she tells the N-team her story. Motherbrain captured her and threw her into the Black Hole Warpzone. Luckily, she manages to grab a footing at a nearby Warpzone and barely escaped the fate of the Black Hole. She landed on the Planet Life Force. This planet has been taken over by Captain Zelos and turned into a slave camp. Samus was taken into captivity herself. She recently escaped but vowed to return and save the others. The N-team offers to help. Meanwhile, Motherbrain discovers Samus' return and is enraged. She joins forces with Zelos to defeat Samus and the N-team on the condition that Motherbrain gets to destroy them herself.
As the N-Team and Samus approach the Planet Life Force, they are suddenly shot down and taken captive. Motherbrain and Zelos both take a moment to gloat before disappearing as our heroes hang from a net over molton lava. Luckily, they are able to escape with a little help from Kevin's pause button and Simon's whip, they are able to escape. They then decide to split up. Kevin, Samus, and Duke will free the slaves while the others head off Zelos and Motherbrain. Kevin, Samus, and Duke must first steal back the Warp Wagon, which is being taken apart. They sneak past security, drive off with the warp wagon, fight off enemies from Life Force, and free all the slaves in captivity. Meanwhile, the others fight off some more enemies from Life Force, only to be confronted by Zelos, Motherbrain, and her two goons. Zelos prepares to destroy them when all of a sudden, the others blast through with the Warp Wagon. This triggers a chain reaction, causing rocks to fall through the ceiling. Motherbrain and Zelos ecape through a corridor, only to find themselves boxed in and then they begin to argue with one another. Meanwhile, Samus pilots the Warp Wagon like a pro and our heroes escape the falling rocks. Kevin then gives Samus an offer to join the N-team and help them in the battle against Motherbrain but she decides to stay on Life Force in case Zelos returns.

Notes:
1. Feature Song: "Time to Fly", parody of "Tarzan Boy" by Baltimora
2. Based on Life Force for NES
3. This is the first episode to feature Samus Aran. She may appear in future episodes down the road.

I know I said I would do more episodes in one post but I had to get the Samus episode up since I know a lot of fans are curious to see what that would look like. I'll have at least three more episodes posted by this evening.

As the N-Team helps Rockford dig for oil, the are suddenly attacked by giant parasites. The hears a chance to win seven tickets to see the Ungrateful Undead live in concert on Castlevania. Through pure stroke of luck, Simon ends up winning the tickets. Meanwhile on Castlevania, the Count is up to no good again. He plans to use the concert as a way to control the people through sound waves. Meanwhile, the N-Team arrive at the jam packed concert. The band begins to play a song for a while. Then all of a sudden, the Count unleashes thousands of bats into the musical instruments. Everyone in the crowd becomes brainwashed except for Megaman and Gameboy who have different brain waves. Megaman goes to investigate one of the instruments and a bat flies out leaving him to the obvious conclusion that the Count is behind all this. The Count takes notice of the two and decides to keep an eye on them. Megaman and Gameboy decide to follow the crowd and see where they're going. It turns out that Motherbrain is behind this as well. She plans to use the Castlevania citizens to build an even larger machine so she can control the brain waves of all of Videoland. Unfortunately, Megaman and Gameboy are discovered and then chased by the crowd. Luckily, they escape and arrive in Dr Right's lab. He gives the two of them several filter that when applied to the ears will block out the effects of the brain waves. They head back to Castlevania and are confronted by the other members of the N-Team. Luckily, they are able to plug in the filters before they are stopped. Megaman explains everything that has happened. Back at the Motherbrain's headquarters, the Brain machine is nearly complete. It is a much larger version of Motherbrain. Megaman and Gameboy show to draw the crowd away. While they are distracted, Kevin and Simon pour karosine into the engine of the Brain machine. With that, Motherbrain starts up the machine and heads out, ready to broadcast to all of Videoland. Suddenly, the Brain machine catches fire, crashes, and sends Motherbrain, Eggplant Wizard, and King Hippo flying. The Count approaches them only to be scolded by Motherbrain. Then suddenly, an angry crowd approaches. The Count decides that it is time for him to "bat out." The crowd then gives chase to Motherbrain, Hippo, and Eggplant. Back at the concert hall, the Ungrateful Undead thank the N-Team who are now at the front row. The group then plays a final song.

Notes:
1. Feature Songs: "Do the Freak", "Wild Ride", "Frustrated", and "DOOM", parody of "YMCA" by the Village People.
2. This episode ends with a concert but you probably already knew that. Sorry Alan.

Next post will be "Secret of the Albetros" and "As Good as Gold."

Thanks! I wanted to have them play a more prominent role in an episode. I also wanted an episode for that season to feature the Count and be based in Castlevania.

The N-Team swiftly responds and no doubt, Motherbrain's forces are all over Castlevania. The N-Team does well at first, but then everyone is captured except for Kevin. He heads into an abandoned building and gets trapped by a couple of kraids. Kevin tries uses his Powerpad but the energy has run out. He ends up falling over the edge and into a mysterious warp. Kevin asks where he is and Lily says that he's on Castlevania which confuses him even more. Lily is surprised that Kevin doesn't know what's going on so she decides to take him to a safer place so she can explain the rest. At Lily's house, her mother offers Kevin supper. She then scolds her daughter for getting into such danger. Kevin introduces himself and says that he's Captain N. This surprises the two of them. Kevin learns that the year is 2020 and he apparently disappeared 30 years ago. Since then, Videoland has been taken over by evil forces and and ruled with an iron fist. She has been taken to the maximum security prison on Megaland. Kevin wants to go see her. With his powerpad and zapper recharged, he heads out to Megaland with Lily. She says she knows an underground passage that leads to the courtyard of the prison but from there, he's on his own. Lily wishes Kevin luck and then leaves. Then he is attacked by Sniper Joes which he easily takes out. Kevin then blast through a door to the inside of the prison complex. He passes through an invisible security beam alerting his presence to Motherbrain. She is quite surprised to see that Captain N is still alive. She doesn't believe he'll make it past her security system. She sends Dr Wily to confront him just in case he does. Inside a long hallway, the floor begins to crumble. Captain N makes it to the end just in time. He is confronted by a large robotic dragon. He has difficulty at first but is finally able to beat the dragon. He then approaches a prison cell where Lana thirty years later is being held. Lana is surprised to see him so Kevin explains that he fell into a time warp to the future. Suddenly, Dr Wily appears in a huge Gutsdozer machine and demands that they both surrender. Naturally, they refuse so a battle breaks out. It ends up with the Gutsdozer destroyed and Dr Wily on the floor. No time to finish him off though. Kevin and Lana make a run for it. Lana explains that anyone who falls into a time warp must go to that exact same location within 24 hours or they will be stuck in that time period forever. They warp to Castlevania and end up being completely surrounded by enemies from Metroid, Castlevania, and Megaland. Motherbrain demands that they surrender immediately. Kevin knows that he can't fight off all of them so there is only one thing do. He pushes the pause button on his powerpad to buy some time. He and Lana make a run for it and are soon chased by all the baddies. They come to the time warp and Kevin has second thoughts. He says he doesn't want to leave Lana alone. She says she'll be fine in the future as long as Kevin is there for her in the future. Kevin enters the time warp just as the monsters approach Lana. Meanwhile back in the real time, Mother has taken the other N team members prisoner. She takes a little time to gloat when Captain N suddenly appears and frees the others. The N-Team then beats Motherbrain once again. Lana asks Kevin where he's been. He replies that something happened and it took a little time to recover but he will always be there in the future.

64. Journey at Ninja Gaiden

The N-team heads to the Oriental world of Ninja Gaiden to answer an urgent call from Walter Smith. Along the way they are attacked by a large group of ninjas only to be rescued by Ryu Hayabasa. Ryu knows of Walter Smith and decides to go with the N-team. It turns out, Ryu is on a mission of his own. He was witness to his father in brutal battle and is searching to know what has become of him. His father was a friend of Walter Smith's. Unfortunately, the Jacquio is alerted to their presence and sends Basaquer to spy on them. At the home of Walter Smith's the N-team and Ryu are welcomed before they get down to business. Smith shows the others half of a mysterious statue which when combined during an eclipse can emit extrordinary power. The other half is locked away safely. Unfortunately, Basaquer steal the statue half. The N-team - minus Lana who decides to stay with Walter Smith in case anything else happens - chases off in hot pursuit. They are able to defeat Basaquer and get the statue half back. Unfortunately, while they were preoccupied, Jacqiuo's minions ransacked Walter Smith's house, Kidnapped Lana, and stole the other half statue. The rest of the N-Team heads South to the ancient temple. As they pass through the jungle, they are attacked by three brown eagles which they easily fend off. They head inside the mysterious temple and it gets darker and darker. When the lights turn on they are confronted by Jacquio who is holding Lana hostage. He uses this as a ploy to receive the other statue half and sends the N-Team on a very long drop. They pass through the underground caves, destroying various monsters from Ninja Gaiden as they go. Later, they scale the mountain and are confronted by Malth, the very same creature that battled Ryu's father. After a very difficult battle, they defeat Malth and Ryu demands to know the fate of his father. Malth says that he is still alive and if they go to the Jacquio, they will find his father. The heroes head back to the temple. They are stopped by a wall so Kevin makes an opening with his zapper. They head inside and confront Jacquio once again. Then all of a sudden, Ryu's father arrives, only he is under the control of Jacquio. They have a very difficult time against his attacks, partly because Ryu doesn't want to fight his father. Kevin figures that the Jacquio must be controlling him somehow. He spots a glowing crystal ball on a table a blasts it to pieces. Ryu's father comes out of his trance and the two of them reunite. However, the reunion is cut short as the eclipse takes form, turning the Jacqiuo into a large mutated creature and making him more powerful than ever. Jacquio fires a shot at Ryu. His father however jumps in front of him and takes the blow himself. Ryu is enraged by this but neither him or the N-Team is able to get the best of Jacquio. Kevin then realizes that the only chance thy have is to strike the statue. Showing true ninja skill, Ryu does just that with one of his blades. This sets off a chain reaction and the whole temple begins to crumble. The N-Team, Ryu, and his father escape as the temple crumbles with the Jacquio trapped inside. Ryu's father give him an ancient bracelet and says that he must continue his quest. Ryu says he doesn't want to leave his father. Father says he will be just fine as the N-Team warps back home with Kevin looking back on last time.

Notes:
1. Feature Song: "Best of Times", parody of "I Feel Good" by James Brown.
2. Based on Ninja Gaiden for NES

Here is information on the very first Captain N movie. I am just going to do the outline and provide a few notes so if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer. Here it is.

MOVIE 1: CAPTAIN N, THE ULTIMATE WARP ZONE

Motherbrain discovers a place that is rich with resources. It is none other than Kevin's Earth. Dr Wily shows Motherbrain four black stones. Once placed on the four corners of the Earth, it will combine to create a magnetic field, opening up a Warp Zone large enough to pull Earth right through it. Then, Motherbrain uses a Warp Zone shifter to bring Metroid straight to Earth. Luckily, the N-Team gets word about this and ends up following Motherbrain to Earth, leaving Dr Right in charge if anything happens. Little does anyone including Motherbrain know that bringing Earth to Videoland wiill destroy both worlds, eliminating all forms of life in the process. Dr Wily gets an invasion force ready to conquer Videoland and prepare for Earth's arrival. In response, Dr Right a group of heroes to help defend Videoland.

Notes:

1. Made $40.5 million at the box office.
2. Despite previous live action clips in the series, this Movie is virtually all animated, including scenes on Earth.
3. This movie shows only time that Lana, Simon, Megaman, Kid Icarus, and Gameboy ever appear on Kevin's Earth.
4. Shows clips of "Kevin in Videoland", "Metroid Sweet Metroid", and "Gameboy" during the opening sequence.
5. The N-Teams special abilities, including Kevin's powerpad and zapper don't work on Earth.
6. Dr Right, Lyle, Bayou Billy, Ryu Hayabasa, and Samus appear in the movie.

Now that I have the Movie out of the way, I'm moving on to Season 4, which started in 1991. I will provide the imformation on that season in the next post. Lots of changes. Get ready.

Here is the background information for season 4.

Captain N is now more popular than it ever has been before. It has already finished it's third season and came off with a largely successful movie. In fact, because of its popularity, NBC decided to continue airing Saturday morning cartoons for at least three more years. This will likely help other cartoons as well. Anyway, NBC ordered at 26 more half-hour episodes of Captain N for this year. Rumor has it that this will be the last year before Captain N goes into the Super Nintendo era. Also on NBC, there will be 26 fifteen minute episodes of Supe Mario World. It was rumored at first that SMW would only air 13 fifteen minute episodes. Can anybody think what would happen if Captain shared equal time SMBs in that case. Also airing on NBCs cartoon line-up will be Prostars and Wish Kid. Prostars features superstar athletes Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, and Wayne Gretzky as the heroes. Wish Kid will star McCauley Culkin who was just fresh from his box office megahit, "Home Alone." Despite that, these shows probably won't do too well.

I'm going to do something different. In my next, I am going to pretend that the original episodes for this season had the same quality animation, the same character designs, and relatively the same music variety and background. They will also be full length episodes with every member of the N-Team included in some way. I will post added and altered scenes. I don't know how much this will improve the quality of the episode, but it should at least a little.

Those are just some ideas I had. I don't know how much they improve the quality of these episodes though. Anyway, everything from here, including the rest of this season is continuity. Next post will be "The Shadow of Link", "Kevin's Deja Vu", and "Battletoad Revolution."

You see, I wouldn't have added Puzzle Wizard actually turning Lyle inot a block. I think it works better not knowing what happened to him at first. Still, a shadowy figure terrorizing Tetris could get the point across.

Now for the Final fantasy episode, having Simon land and deal with some other characters from the game could be intresting. Perhaps Garland or Bikke.

Now this I agree with, as Simon in FF would make for good comedy. I reckon Bikke could have the best result myself.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Skate or Die type episode myself (as I said in the other thread), but it could end up too similar to Videolympics from looking at it. I noticed you mentioned going into the SNES era too; what ideas do you have for that?

I'm hoping to finish this season with Motherbrain being defeated in a two part episode. Then, I want get into the Super Nintendo Era with a brand new villain, new heroes, and new worlds. I don't want to spoil anything for now. I still have 19 more episodes for this season.
