AMV CONTEST RULES
Videos shall be no more than 6 minutes, nor less than 30 seconds. All entries should include roughly 2 seconds of black silent space at the beginning and end for ease of compilation.
All videos should be in NTSC format, 720x480 pixels and 29.97 FPS. All formats of video are accepted, but we do request that you try to avoid exotic codecs and stick to .avi and similar extensions.
The video should be at least 95% animated, and at least 75% set to music. Animation that is not Japanese in origin but follows the anime style (such as Avatar: The Last Airbender) is acceptable. All content should be kept PG-13 at most, with no excessive nudity nor excessive profanity.
You may have two submissions, though both should be in different categories of the contest. Only those who intend to attend U-Con will be considered for the contest finals. Contest finalists will be given access to preferred seating for the contest screening.
AMV contest judges are prohibited from entering competitive entries, though they may enter AMV's to be screened in a noncompeting category. Best in Category and Best Overall videos will be selected by the audience, while a selection of technical awards will be awarded by the Judges. If necessary, the judges will also narrow down the entry pool to the top finalists to be aired at the contest.
All entries should be either uploaded in high quality format and emailed to Maxwell.Barrand@Uconn.edu or burned to a disc and mailed to
U-Con AMV Contest 52 Perry Hill Rd. APT 5B Ashford, CT, 06278.
