What is the cost of advertisement removal?
I could probably chip in and remove them for good (if possible) to make the forum seem professional. Those little (big?) ad banners are sometimes annoying as the placement of them changes sometimes, like top, in between posts and bottom.

I could also chip in as well, I was removing them off another forum I use to be at for awhile.

I think the staff made a good job. As they said they have an offline life and spending a weekend cleaning, adding rules and stuff... I totally agree that the foruns are made by the members and since the staff made what they could it's also our turn to contribute to this "revival".

Congratulations. ^^

I don't really think money needs to be spent in order to make this place better than it already is, but if enough people are really willing to contribute I think that would also mean the Foreign Language section could come back.

Ad removal is: $5 ($0.15 per 1,000 page views.) PayPal is the preferred payment method.

Or we could try finding an InvisionFree modification code that makes the font and table background colours of the advertisement areas the same so you can't see them.

I don't think we need that... Is bringing the Foreign Laguages that important? Or even removing the advertising?

Is it important about removing ads?: No
Is it annoying? To some;
Personaly, I would remove them anyway, it all helps in the end. :x

No, but if people are willing to help pay for it would it hurt to remove them? If anything people should like the idea, it would add more to the 'revival' of this place.

Whilst it may not seem like a whole ton of changes, it only takes a small change to make a big difference, ne? ~_^.

On the subject of ad removal...I, sadly, would not be able to chip in, and i'm quite okay with all the ads. I agree with Kuznetsov, no money needs to be spent on this place to make it any better.

Ty Kamara was born from Beyblade. Got it's name from Beyblade and will continue to be remembered as the Beyblade forum that got us together.

Beyblade is dead.

No revival tactic will actually work while this is a forum that relies on a dead series to keep it alive. You need -something- to bring in new members and reinterest old ones.
'General anime' doesn't work unless you already have a BIG site that covers news etc., or have some other gimmick (like Gaia). So for the love of God, don't try that, you'll only shoot yourself in the foot.
Find a common interest to the current active members that is also new and refreshing.

Ads are irrelevant - you can learn to ignore them. It's only Google, anyway. Getting rid of them is a waste of money while the forum is this small. Modding them out sets you up for forum deletion by the InvisionFree moderators.

But Ty Kamara isn't. It doesn't have to be the best forum on the internet or anything ^^;. It still has quite a few active members and we must be one of the older, more dedicated forums even if it's dead. Maybe we could bring it back? I don't know...Maybe assign a topic for each of the few channels it's on and you can discuss the days episode or something in that topic? Like a sort of 'episode club' where everyone can join in. Not sure how many channels still show it though.

The problem with trying to change what the forum's all about is it will cause arguments, because not everybody likes the same stuff. Our common interest IS Beyblade. Okay, maybe most people like Naruto or FMA or whatnot, but there's forums out there for those series, like we're a forum for beyblade.

I agree. And while I don't deny that change is a bad thing, there are just some things that, I guess people wish would stay the same. Like this forum. Yes, Beyblade might be dead, a lost cause, but like Ri-chan pointed out, this forum isn't. We still have more active members in the board daily than some other boards put together.

Yes, I agree with Kuznetsov's early statement about it being up to the admins if they decide one day that they want to change it to meet with the times. But for now, Ty Kamara are enough registrations (daily?) that such a big leap in the different direction shouldn't even have to be considered.

If anything, Beyblade is still the one thing that brought us all together. Sure, people seldom post in that section anymore, sure it isn't one of the in animes (now and probably won't be in the future) but just look at Kuznetsov, Raging an Kai-V; the way they stay loyal to Kai and/or Tala (I've yet to any either of them with different character sets), doesn't it tell you something about loyalty? And if anything, I'd say that Ty Kamara is a forum about loyalty to each other and as we should stay loyal to the thing that made this whole thing happen.

Perhaps I should not post this here, as I haven't discussed it with any admins or moderators, but still.

It will be extremely hard to change the direction of this forum. Beyblade is, as Seraphiel and Reiven have said, our commen interest. If we made this into an anime forum, we'd be unoriginal and one of the many out there. Anything more specific concerning anime is impossible, because it will always get some people left out. Anything general that we're interested in, like music, is impossible as well, because it's too general.

Yeah I must have had Tamashii no Kaze on the mind or something. xD

Why Project Revival when the forum's going OK though?

Mostly, what I wanted was to change the rules around a bit. I know a lot of people think they haven't changed much, but I felt that the way they're written now, they're clearer to the newbies and not so restrictive. Well that was what I was aiming for anyway. People were complaing for a while that the rules were too tight, so I've tried to slacken them up a bit. I think most of it's just general good manners and common sense really =/

I mean is there any rule up there that people look at and go 'OMG that's so unreasonable! DX'? Seriously, I want to know ^^;

As for the ads... um... I'll put up a poll and see what the general opinion is. They don't bother me much, but I'm actually working now so I don't mind throwing a little money that way every so often if they bother a lot of people. *goes to make a poll*

I've looked over the updated rules, and honestly, I think they're just fine. One of the many reasons I've taken such a liking to this forum is because it's so orderly and well-managed. It may not seem like a big deal, but things like excessive spam and big signature banners can really get to be a hassle on other sites.

I also think that the moderators -- and some of the more dedicated members as well -- are doing a fine job keeping everything under control. They don't seem very unreasonable or "jerk"-like at all to me.

Although it's been said by at least three different people above^, I agree that Ty Kamara should remain a beyblade forum. As already mentioned, it doesn't have to be the most active or constantly updated site. As long as the community and at least a bit of interest still lives, that's all we really need to keep what we have going.

(But even so, things like contests do help, of course. So I am by no means discouraging new ideas... new events and such would be nice. :D)
