Who knows. I'm glad they were gone though, I never liked them.

All I know is that there is a shot of Carlos (Haruta? Or something.) from the Blade Sharks battling Rick at the end of episode 51, the part that was cut out in many dubs. I don't believe the team has any significance at all in the second or third seasons.

Given Kai's tendacy to be disloyal to his team(s), especially in early season one, I don't think it's very surprising. |

I think the better question is; where are all the OTHER useless five-minute characters that people don't give a rats' behind about and their sole reason on the series is to make Tyson seem stronger and that all the characters other than the main team are stupid and annoying (which they are).
Oh wait! I think I just answered my own question. And yet, the better question is; who really cares about the Blade Sharks or the something-princes or the Blade Hunters or those loser team consisting of a Mayor, a wrestler and a slut? |

True! But, this is something I feel that my opinon shows that Kai is not talking to the Blade Sharks for a long time...which can state something. But, not having seen Season 1 for a long time, I feel my answer isn't complete. |

And I was stating mine. Is there something wrong with that? o_O
I guess part of it can be that he doesn't think the Blade Sharks are good enough for him.. he so readily kicked Carlos (I think it was him?) out of the team when he lost to Takao, so it's clear that Kai has high standards. |

I doubt that Kai even cares about them...there's not much importance in the group in season2 and 3. Thier importance was in season1, to show get the idea what Kind of apin in the neck of group Kai was in...

Well Reiven, please forgive me if I misinterpret what you said in that first sentence, because it’s a bit difficult to understand. OK, the ‘useless 5-min. characters’… all series have ‘useless 5-min. characters’, it’s not just Beyblade. You understand that, correct? Also, they don’t always battle Takao. They also battle Max, Rei, Kai, etc.. They just have a tendency to battle Takao more, since, after all, Takao Aoki decided that Takao be the main character. I hope you understand this as well. Trust me, they wouldn’t make Takao the main character just to make you frustrated. A side point, many of those characters can, if taken full advantage of (which no one seems to do…), be used in fanfiction to be more important then shown in the series. After all, I once saw the summary for a story with Carlos/Kai, a yaoi. I’ve only seen a couple of these, but they happen, as well as a handful of other strange pairings unexplainable. And no, they didn’t make these character to make Takao ‘seem’ stronger, because, first of all, Takao is just as strong as the Beyblade series portrays him(though perhaps not as strong as how Takao might tend to portray himself…). Second of all, they need a plot here, and since the genre is adventure and all that, and the main feature to this particular series is ‘Beyblades’ and ‘Beyblading’, I believe that they wanted to fit as many Beyblades in this series as realistically(or even a little unrealistically) possible. This usually would include some side-characters to beybattle against, or a type of plotline that concerns people wanting to Beyblade against Takao and gang. You also stated something about the other teams being, well, ‘obsolete’, in fewer words. Well, I actually quite like many characters other then the main team. Examples of people that are widely popular but still not main characters are Yuri, Brooklyn, Raoul, Mystel, etc.. For me myself, I love many of the female bladers (Mao, Maria, Salima, Hiromi, Emily, Ming-Ming etc..), all the hot bishies, many of the more interesting characters (Moses, Kane, etc.), and pretty much everybody in between! I have a soft spot in my pathetic heart for every character really, even Borcloff(Balcov) and Souichiro and such have a place in my heart (of course, that place is the place to be dissected of all advantageous roles they may have to be able to add to a fanfic…). From Kiki to Mao to Alexander (yes, Alexander. Borcloff’s son who was dragged into a dungeun…) to Lei to Rick, etc.. I’ve seen many of these characters made important and/or 3-Dimensional in some fanfic somewhere. And I’ve thought of many ways that they could add to stories or relationships or whatever. I don’t know, if you find them all so annoying, are you a Beyblade fan or a hot-bishie fan? Also, to answer your last question, I care about the Blade Sharks, Blade Hunters, etc.. And when you said ‘slut’, were you talking about the female characters of the series? And ‘wrestler’, was that supposed to generalize the people such as Gao, Steven, Moses, etc.? Hmmm… I’ve got limited time to go on too long about something that I don’t really feel that strongly about(your arguments were too… bland I guess. Not too fun to debate against, but satisfying ^^) so I’ll go over to some other topic someplace else ^-^v. - - - - - Concerning the general Topic - - - - - The Blade Sharks aren't really important, I believe they were really only there to: 1. Reflect what kind of person Kai is by whom he socialized with and how he treated them, as well as vague perception of his type of history, etc.. 2. Be the (rather cliche) beginning trials for Takao (the main character) that would start the show off, as a good sort of introduction to the show, by showing what the main character is like, presenting new character(s) that yield importance (Kai), and introducing things that real-life people don't know about, such as the sport of beyblading and such, etc.. So, in effect, the Blade Sharks to me are only important as a wonderful tool to be able to use and/or take advantage of when writing fanfics, if they could add to the story (though such a situation for me, or anybody. would be somewhat rare...). Ja ne, Ali |

Since when is this true...?

I beg to differ. Some shows actually make use of all their characters, even the minor ones. (ex: FullMetal Alchemist.) Of course, 10-second background characters are necessary for any show, but you have to admit that Beyblade *does* have a lot of purely filler characters that are featured for an episode or two and then disappear off the face of the planet. Anyway. Though I do agree with your points about the significance of the Blade Sharks early on in season 1, I have to say I disagree with a fair number of the things you pointed out in your post. (And I think I can assume that Reiven will too..?) But you're entitled to your own opinion, so.. *shrug*
That's precisely the reason why many of us complain endlessly about underdeveloped characters in Beyblade, but never mean what we complain anyway, since it gives creative fans tons of opportunities to draw their own conclusions and fill in the gaps. :) |

To Reiven: AHAH!!! I looked at your profile just not too long ago and saw your account, and I KNOW YOU!!! You don’t know me though(I don’t think, I don’t review much…). I think(I’m pretty sure) I put one of your stories(at least) in my favorites list, and I knew I recognized your name, but I didn’t really look into it… Well, I will now commence to look at your fic summaries and shamelessly ‘review’ the ones I recognize right here, since I know I’m too lazy to ever actually review them… I read ‘Behind Blue Eyes’ way back when. Not exactly an original title, but I really liked the oneshot! I think the ending was great! Such a extravagant play of words… I love these types of one-shots… ‘The One Blanket’… I saw that when reviewing the summaries… I wanted to read it,.. would have read it… but… I didn’t read it. I dunno’, I just kind of read the ones I pick out, and I don’t exactly know how I pick stories out sometimes. It’s weird… but it sounds really hilarious! I never read ‘Love Hurts’, but I just skimmed the first chapter. I won’t read any more, but not because of bad quality. I’m just… picky like that… I read some tiny snippets of ‘Eh!’, and… well… that’s different. I laughed at that last line, ingenious… I saw ‘Birthday Surprise’, I think I might have actually read it… I’ll check… I don’t… think so… but I might’ve… ‘As the Ice Breaks’… I don’t think I ever read that, but I might’ve… I’ll check it… nope, I would have remember the ending of that first chapter if I did… too bad, maybe I’d read some other time, though that’s unlikely… I know I didn’t read ‘Reality Bites’ since it said ‘No yaoi’, but I know I saw the summary. I would NEVER read a Yuri/Brooklyn, so ‘Just Standing There’ is totally out of the question, no offense to the pairing. Sounds very interesting though! I think I read ‘Always’, it seems familiar… it’s pretty good too, I like it(even I only skimmed it just now). I wanted to read ‘A Boy and His Wolf’, but… I didn’t… again. I know that I recognize it! It sounds really cool, and original, but I don’t read Yuri/Brooklyn ><. Ooh, I didn’t catch ‘The Reason’ before… I wonder how I missed it, because I KNOW I’ve been to your profile to check your stories multiple times in the past(5 times? 10?). This one is just as good as ‘Behind Blue Eyes’! Very clever, you’re extremely talented, not like me T_T. I read another fic a whole lot like ‘Tick Tock Goes the Clock’, but on Yuri’s side. Hmmm… maybe you wrote that too… I’ll check now… nope! Your sequel is obviously not the one like I was thinking… but it sounds extremely funny! I might actually read them(I’m picky…). ‘Revenge of the Toilet’? ‘UDS’? I cracked up when I read that… but I won’t read the fic… I said I was picky, I wasn’t kidding >_<. ‘As the Fire Burns’… I saw sooo many people with that in their favorites list(it was at the top so you must have updated recently when I checked it… and I check people’s favorite lists a lot and stuff…), I wanted to see what was so great about it… but then I found it was a sequel and had SOMEHOW been unable to find ‘As the Ice Breaks’… and when I actually saw the summary, I realized what it was from seeing the summary before, and decided… not to read it… I know, I’m sooo picky… ‘The Muffin Man’? Sounds veerryy funny, but I won’t read it. I’m sure it’s hilarious though ^^;. Okay, I have been SO tempted to read this, and I even skimmed the first chapter, but… I stopped reading it ;-;. I know, I’ve got horrible and ridiculous reading habits. Same with ‘Gobbledygook’, I saw that too, but didn’t read that either! Well, I must say, that even though I’ll treat you just as trashy as everyone else(well, some people [my ‘friends’] claim that I treat people with no respect… which is probably true… I have no social skills, my sister, my church, and everyone in my old 8th grade classes can back me with that…), I highly respect you, and I find it a strange honor to talk to you. I really like your writing style, and think your stories(not humorous, I’ve never so much as skimmed a humorous story you’ve written that I know of…) are of much higher quality then is usual in the fanfics department… heck I actually recognized you when I saw your name here, and recognize many of your fics, etc.. That has to say SOMETHING about your writing abilities, right? And also, just as a little note, on forums I can be very... strange... I can never remember whether I was mad at someone, or did something to really offend them, and stuff like that... and my... 'posting style...?'... can change a bunch too... I'm just not good at communication, in any aspects... Well… yes… ja… To Kuznetsuv: Hmmm... I thought I heard Balcov(his last name is shorter...) say 'my son...' and I got all freaky-excited, but that was over a year ago, so I can't really remember if that's just my freaky-ass imagination doing its magic, or just a freaky dream(but I've never dreamed of Beyblade...). I think I also read a little something on it from a fanfic, just a little sidenote by an author. I'm probably wrong, yeah. I'm trying to find the episode that I believe to have remembered that coming from, but I think I might have taped over it... I'm not looking through all 10-15 looking for a single ep. that might not be there though. I tape things really messily, such as having an ep. of G-Rev, then going into a cut 'Case Closed', and then to an old Beyblade ep., etc.. It's a bad habit of mine, so when I watch Beyblade eps, I just watch whatever's in the tape I grab -.-. Which is why I'm not going to bother to attempt to find episodes to rewatch from my tapes to back up small points like that. But I'm glad you brought it up! Thanks a bunch, now I'll make sure to save this into my mental memory bank so as to not write anything stupid if by any chance I decided to use said inaccurate information in a fic (though I'm probably much too lazy to write any more fics and actually post them... ><). Also, about that word, 'debate'. I don't think I meant to use that word in that context, but was too lazy to think of another word to use. I'm supposed to be looking for things to back up why the Death Penalty is a good thing for this big debate thingy for my Government class, which is supposed to land big points. And I'm not. I'll get to it, but guilty concsience is getting to me, since I said that exact thing to myself just yesterday, and didn't get to it... As well as this Debate Board I've been going to at another site(it's gotten boring there), and the fact that because of that debate Board's boringness, I was frustrated with some idiotic people there, and got in trouble for being too sassy and writing too long responses to annoying people who kept writing in chatspeak over at this other site. Blah, that was too long a reason... I type too much, it;s suuuccchhh a crappy habit, 'cuz it keeps wasting my life and homework-time away... >_<. But anyway, while I thank you profusely for correcting my incredibly n00bish inaccuracy, I don't quite understand if your sarcasm in that last comment was meant to mock/belittle me or something else altogether. It's kind of hard to tell. Also, why do you call yourself 'Kuznetsuv' but have a Yuri avatar and signature? I'm just curious, it seems a bit strange you didn't call yourself something like 'Ivanov'... One last thing, what’d you mean with this:
Does I say something concerning Reiven’s birthday, when she joined, etc.? I don’t think so, but I can’t really remember. I’m not good with memory, I forget things easily -.-‘. To lyrikkal: Yes, Beyblade has many filler characters, and you make a good point! But I don’t get really into many animes, just a few, and I was basing that particular comment on things that are similar to Beyblade in its… how shall I say… ‘style’? My vocab is horribulous, I know, I tend to forget a word I wanted to use to explain something the moment I think of it >.<. But here, I’ll try a little word game… ‘Yu Gi Oh’ and ‘Pokemon’ are to Beyblade like ‘Inuyasha’ and ‘Trigun’ are to ‘Wolf’s Rain’. Beyblade is more ‘juvenile’ then things like Trigun, and they just work differently. Usually the producer people makes things like Beyblade much more stretched then the actual manga, and just change a whole bunch of things, and put in a much longer plotline. With things like Trigun, they barely change those at all, I know because I taped an episode of Trigun, and have a Trigun manga with the same ep., and they’re practically identical compared to how much Beyblade was changed and lengthened. If you watch Yu Gi Oh, you’ll notice that it has just as many filler characters as Beyblade, and Pokemon… Pokemon is kind of ridiculous with the filler characters… And… yadda yadda, otherv stuff that I should go over but am too lazy to go over(I waste too much time posting…).
Hmmm… I’m glad you agree with something of mine, and I totally understand you disagreeing with a lot of my opinions. I’m a fairly disagreeable person, or at least I seem to be with many people *shrugs*. I always have something to say, even if I don’t actually believe what I’m saying… which is incredibly stupid to defend someone’s opinions that aren’t even my own, I know. Besides, I’m not exactly a straight-A student, I’m currently almost failing ICP TT. I’m trying to bring it up to a C, which I almost am, I’ve got it at 69% now… anyway, I know that I can be wrong about lots of things, and I’m also very forgetful, and lazy, and have a small vocabulary range, and can’t tell a good story(my whole family can back me with this…), and am generally a person that ‘thinks differently from most other people’, which my friend said. I’m having serious suspicions as to if some of my friends believe me to have a mental defection… anyway, yes… that’s me…
I know, it’s wicked-cool to imagine up something that’s totally understandable and realistic, and at the same time out of this world. Or something of the like. Of course, I’m much too lazy to ever trust myself to post a long-time fic, or ANY fic with more then one chapter for that matter, on the internet(ff.net), so it’s not like it matters to anyone but me ^^;;. Ummm… ja ne, Ali |

It's Kuznetsov... Balkov did say 'my son' but he did not mean Alexander is is actual son, it was a figure of speech.
...
I was pointing out the fact that they do cram as many blades into the series in order for the Takara corporation (back then) and eventually Hasbro to take as much money out of children's pockets as possible. More blades in series > more products > more money.
So, since my name is 'Kuznetsuv', which it isn't... I am supposed to limit myself to only using graphics of Boris Kuznetsov, or change my username whenever I use a different character in my sets...? Ivanov is too overused anyway since you asked.
No, but I did... but since you missed the point, it doesn't really matter. But what does matter it keeping this topic about the Blade Sharks... |
