We have gotten slightly back on topic, but I would like to point out that this *is* in the wrong part of the forum.

Zeo didn't care for Hilary. Hilary didn't care for Zeo. Period.
If you ask me, the writer just wanted to make that pairing because she (most fanfiction writers are girls so I'll suppose this one is too) liked Zeo and wanted to see herself in Hilary's position.
