Man, now I'm gonna feel insignificant again for asking on the News forum, but you know, people have been waiting for-fucking-ever for the
There's Something About Tails Demo. If they hadn't totally forgotten about it.
Well, it's time for me to ask. I need help.
Here's the deal. It's just for sprites at this time. While some replacement music would be nice, that is optional right now. The biggest priority is some specific sprites for the game.
I need three characters completed for the Demo, as on the second map (the sewers map) you get to fight with allies Bunnie Rabbot, Amy Rose, and Princess Sally. Unfortunately, I have (almost) none of the sprites.
On March of 2009, I had a thumbdrive corruption that set me back a month's worth of sprite work. With the will to work killed by that loss, coupled with my busy schedule, I have not been able to work on those sprites since then.
Here's the details to the sprite sheets:
Because I am using the Doom engine, I will need rotations of ALL of the characters featured here. I'll tell you what's needed for each character below.
Bunnie Rabbot (
half-finished): Four frames walking, Two frames firing, one frame taking damage, five to nine frames dying (rotations unnecessary). This character
cannot be mirrored.
Rabbot will be firing a railgun in the demo, but I'm not concerned about specifics at this point. The sheet as-is linked above shows her with a more general pulse laser attack.
otterdude and Gunsmith have some credits for this character, no one is working on her.Sally Acorn (COMPLETED!)
JoeyTD receives full credit for this character.Amy Rose: Four frames walking, one frame taking damage, five to nine frames dying (rotations unnecessary). This character can be mirrored. Note that she can't attack.
JoeyTD and Neon the Hedgehog are currently working on her.The sprite style I'd prefer is Genesis, but I can't say I'll be too picky. Just nothing that resembles the Advanced style as the black outlines clash badly with Doom.
Due to the limits of the Doom engine, you're stuck with a specific game palette. Fortunately, you can use as many colors in the palette as you desire (unlike Genesis or Advance where you're limited to 15 plus transparent). Here is the
palette.
The faster we can finish this up, the faster we can get this thing in beta-testing, and the faster I can release this. Everyone who is involved will be credited in the Demo and Full Version, and I just may do something a little extra for those who do more.
ED: Sally's sprite sheet updated. Thanks, Joey.

ED2: ... And completed.
