"Well, Mercutia, go right ahead!" Kit bowed gallantly, with much over-waving of the arms. Looking up, she saw that he still hadn't moved, so Kit decided to give him a bit of help. Pushing him into the hole, she climbed in behind him, and closed the portrait behind herself. "Lumos," her wand tip lighted up, sending a beam of light down the passage. "And don't think just because I'm nerdy, I haven't skived once in a while," Kit murmured in Merc's ear.

She followed Merc down the passage.

OOC: it was meant to be Mercutia, and apoligies for a bit of GM.

Merc sighed. "Fine! I'll get hit by cobwebs first then, I just wanted to offer you the opportunity," He muttered; it was rather dark in the tunnel. Kit wisely lit up her wand, and he wondered why he didn't think of that.
He did a fake snort of disbelief. "Oh you do not! Rod and I would have seen you otherwise...unless you skive off to do homework, and that, my dear Miss Swindon, is not skiving at all! Well?" He turned around to see if Kit was still following as she had not yet answered. As a result, Merc promptly walked straight into a stone wall, before collapsing in the tunnel.

[Tamare]

"S**T!" Kit rushed over to Merc and bent down, slapping him across the face a couple of times for good measure. She shone her wand beam in her face, opening his eyes and shining them like she had seen in Muggle television shows. "Bloody hell..." Kit slapped him a couple more times before muttering an incantation, conjuring a jug of water. This she poured over his head. "WAKE UP!"

The burst of inspiration, it seemed, worked.

OOC: he can open his eyes or start yelling... hehe.

Merc spluttered and sat up straight. "Achnein," he groaned, clutching his head. It felt as if he had walked straight into a stone wall!
Then he remembered that that was indeed what he had somehow done. He looked up and saw Kit's face illuminated before him. Merc reached out to help himself up. When he was on his feet again, he said, "Looks like someone's blocked up this passageway!"

[Tamare]

"Not for long... stand back!" Kit gave Merc another slap just for good measure, before standing in front of him and walking back, so that he, too, had to do the same. When she felt he was a a safe distance, Kit turned around, muttered a few well chosen words, and the stone disappeared. Or, crumbled, to be accurate, leaving bits of rock everywhere.

She shuddered, hoping there was no one behind the wall when she'd blasted it like that (a charm she had worked all holidays on) and stepped through, holding her hands above her head in case the cieling decided to crumble too.

Merc blinked at the rockfall. That was quite some charm. He gently shoved Kit behind him and stepped forth first in line through the passageway. It didn't look entirely safe...the walls looked like they were growing, then shrinking...he had hit his head pretty hard afterall...
"I say, the ladder's here! We've here! And we haven't died in the attempt!" Merc tested a rung with his foot. "Well it seems sturdy enough..." He looked at her and winced. "I'll go first shall I?"

[Tamare]

"You shall do no such thing!" Kit planted her hands on her hips and glared at Merc. She pushed her glasses up her nose and squinted. "You seem like you're going to fall over... shall I douse you with water again, or are you okay? It'd be a shame, going all this way and not actually making it into Hogsmeade..."

"No!" Merc cried. "We shall not let trifle things such as concussions, and brain damage get in the way of illegal out of school activities."
He began to climb the ladder, rung by rung. "Butterbeer, butterbeer," he chanted meekly, hoping Kit was following.

"Firewhisky, Firewhisky..." Kit yelled, the sound bouncing off the stone walls. She followed Merc up the ladder, waiting for him to push open the trap door.
