Potions Outing

[Ariadne]

Mariquis cleared his throat as the students gathered near the edge of the forest. He noticed that they had losely gathered in their years, seemingly unwilling to mix with anyone that wasn't their age. Noding slightly to himself, he raised his voice. "All right everyone, settle down. You have all been put into pairs, so I expect you to stick with that person, and you all have your potions...I hope." There was faint laughter at this. He smiled and went on. "Now, you'll be put into groups of two to four pairs, and each group will be look after by one of the helper pairs." He indicated to the seventh years close by. "I'll now call out the groups. When I call out your pair and what colour you'll have, come forward and Professor Tindall or Professor Bloke will give you a ribbon. Then find the helper pair with the same colour. Let's get started." He lifted a roll of parchment and started with the first years. Then he called out the second years, then he got to the third. "Rayven Kinley and Rodaich Eachann, blue. Mercuito Boot and Katerine Swidon, blue. Isabel Mycroft and Durst Scamander, blue."

[Shenavyre]

Merc laughed and turned to Kit on his right. “Well Kat-er-ine Swi-don,” he said, imitating Fallios. “Seems we are to be partnered.”

[Mononoke]

-Rod-

"Team Eachann-Kinley!" exclaimed Rod, holding up a hand for a high-five in a hopeful manner.

[Tamare]

"What a shame," Kit muttered, rolling her eyes as she looked up at Merc. She held up a hand for him to high five to show she was only joking. "Mercky Boy, I couldn't think of a better victim," she replied, blue eyes sparkling.

[Verity]

"Oi! You lot! Stop blabbling and come 'ere. Like a lot of yaks, you are" he said, grinning like a hyena. "Birds first, no pushin' there matey. Easy comes easy goes, mate. Come on, line up here in fronta me to get your ribbons" he told them, waving about a blue cloth around his head. "You'll be helped out by my dear friend Corbin here. Corbin's in my class, aren't ya Cory?" he asked. Corbin nodded half-heartedly at the teacher. He didn't really fancy being with this teacher, but he wasn't complaining. This little outing got him out of class. Gary handed out the ribbons to the thrid-years as they lined up.

Rayven returned Rod's high-five. She was, at the moment, trying her best to ignore all the other students. Instead, she kept her mind on the potion she'd brought.
She took her ribbon from Bloke, them stood in the rough versinity of Corbin. He made her nervous, so she sort of ignored him to. She concentrated on the boy Bl had been paired with, Durst Scamander. She'd only seen him in class and knew next to nothing about him. She shrugged slightly to herself. Oh well.
She smiled at her friends. "It's cool that we've been put together. I can't think of anyone I'd want to go into the Forbidden Forest with more."

[Mononoke]

"So, what potion did you bring Rayven?" Rod asked.

-Zadiel-

Zadiel fidgeted with the small vial of potion in his pocket. The liquid was so viscous it almost stuck to the sides of the glass. Ebony in colour, it bubbled ominously.

Fenella told him everything would be alright. All he had had to do was make the potion whilst everyone else was asleep and bring it on the excursion. It needed to be distilled by moonlight anyway, so it made sense to wait for nightfall.

He spotted Eachann and company out of the corner of his eye, no doubt talking about telewashers or dishphones. Zadiel noted the fall of the shadows on the ground and wondered where Fenella was. It was nearly time to leave.

[Shenavyre]

Merc whistled and wondered what they were all doing.

ooc: sorry, evidently cannot think atm.

[Ariadne]

Rayven pulled out the vile from her pocket. It was filled with clear liquid with a sort of rainbow sheen to it. "Mortathor. It took me two days to brew it." She grimaced. "I had to do it outside, because of how much it sticks when you're mixing it together. But it should help us. I chose it because it's supposed to make magical beasts more friendly. At least, that's what the potions book I read said. What did you bring?"

[Mononoke]

-Rod-

Rod pulled a length of chain out of his pocket, on the end of which was attached his own vial. "I lose things far too often," he explained, swinging the chain from his hand. The vial was filled with a watery substance of a deep green lustre. "Lime juice," he announced, adding a huge wink. "It's gotten me out of a tight spot many a time."

[Ariadne]

Rayven frowned slightly. "Lime juice?" She took the vial from him and held it up to the light. "It's, um, very nice lime juice." She handed the vial back to him. "The thing is Rod, we're supposed to bring a potion with us, not juice. Do you think the professors will even allow it?"

[Mononoke]

-Rod-

Rod put his hand to his forehead and sighed. "It's not lime juice Ray," he said quietly, keeping a lid on his exasperation.

[Ariadne]

Rayven blinked, then frowned. "But you just said it is. Make up your mind." She placed a fisted hand on her hip. "What is it then, if it isn't lime juice?"

[Mononoke]

-Rod-

Rod seemed to regain his previous zeal. "That m'dear, is a secret! Suffice to say that I didn't leave it in the cauldron too long this time, but I can't help but feel that it's a little undercooked..." He trailed off, examining the substance and lamenting his tendancy to burn his concoctions.

OOC: I kind of haven't decided what Rod's potion is yet... *stalls some more*

[Ariadne]

Rayven raised a brow, then shrugged. She'd find it out soon enough. "Very well." Professor Fallios anounced that it was time to get moving. Ray looked at the others. "Well, here we go. Anyone got any words of wisdom before we start?"
