Joining the joint-state
In an odd move, in contradiction to their normal policies, it seems the Arkansas-Mississippi joint state is looking to allow the anex of a small group of communities in the area. Hopeful onlookers see it as a new leaf for the normaly very closed and controled society, others see it as little more then a desperation measure with rumors of near universal food and equipment shortages among the Postmaster government.

City state blues
It's rumored something is brewing in the normally quite isolated city state known as Crescent Top (Or Nawlins, depending on who you're talking to.) Although known as a merchant community, rumors are that something is afoot in the swamp, and although unknown what exactly is happening, it's said the many traders are being turned away. Some seem to have planes for Last Hope, although many have been forced farther west in attempt to ply expensive wares.

What exactly is happening in Crescent Top? Nobody knows for sure, but combined with the cease-fire between the Rangers and LSB, you can bet great-dunes fringe communities are going to prosper as a result.

News from the front!

Bell-John Hood, the so called "Wolf of the West" surveyed the area, from his grenadiar pit, with his homemade spyglass. The ruddy brown of the field in front of him jumped every few seconds as he flinched from a random assortment of explosions. He ignored them - it was by his own order, after all, and the continued fire from his newly added artillery regiment was good for morale. The booms made it seem like this might actually be a line that they could hold, and had the effect of keeping much more accurate Brotherhood Snipers at bay. He'd ordered the artillerymen to switch over to liquid based weaponry, and although it was a wasteful manuever, he had no qualms about ordering it. Being a tribal war veteren had it's benefits, after all, and none of his men minded that he was pilfering from the supplies they where supposed to be protecting.

It'd been a four day engagement, and the morning had brought the first end in immediate fighting in that time. Before that, it'd been nearly two weeks of continual minor retreats. The ill-established defensive efforts he'd managed to throw together could rarely hold against more then one Brotherhood assualt, and they'd been nothing but agressive, badly injuring Hood's excuse for an army. He'd only barely settled into his newest defensive posititon, a muddy, long, narrowly sloping hill, when he'd recieved a new message from- well, some asshole official- the name didn't matter. What did matter was his new priority, and that was holding his line until the last man until further communication was established.

The message was less then ideal, but for once, his 'troops', if you could call them that, where in fighting condition. He'd finally met with two groups of the newly created debt-soldiers, although they where the first batch. Back before the debt-act allowed them to be combat oriented, the debtors where little more then general laborers, although they where more useful then half of his actual fighters. With the debtors busy trying to create fortifications out of the sloppy brown earth around them, he had a chance to give most of the men a slight break. He'd even let them set up with the "Belle Corps" - and although the women of the Entertainment Regiment generally didn't see open combat, lace, skirts, and all, they where invaluable when it came to preparing men for it.

He knew the Brotherhood would be upon him again before the next night.

Wasteland exposed: war machines Pt. 1

The Serra Aerospace aerial client refueling station, Civilian version:

A prototype with a name longer then what's left in half of the books in the world, this rumored behemoth might be a myth, or might be a powerful new tool in the hands of The University. Designed for a supposedly forthcoming revolution in personal transportation, this huge aerial cruiser was designed like a flying barge. With multiple ports for personal flying vehicles and even cafe accommodations in the sky, this gigantic propeller vehicle could be an extremely useful transport, if at all salvageable. That is, rumor also has it that, even before the war, the few existing prototypes where aborted because of an extremely inefficient use of fuel.

Wasteland exposed: A travel guide! (Pre-war version)

Copperton, Tex-Arkana's best kept secret! Although little more then a sleepy residential community between Dallas and the Arkansas Border at first, the sudden discovery of large copper deposits in this unlikely location made it boom in the early days of the Chinese War of Communist Aggression. Although it's been, by most accounts, stripped clean since those days, it's still a wonderful tourist destination for day-trippers on the way to or from Dallas.

Visit the mines! Check out the scenic strip mined locals just a few miles out of town for a fun plays to throw the pigskin and get your grill on! If you want something slightly more exciting, try checking out the exploratory mines - small passageways snaking alone underground from early in the town's history. Be careful though - Copperton was one of the first small communities to test out a 'Labrynth tech utility sewer system" which runs into the mines in a few places and features particularly large and complex sewer ways throughout the area.

Visit for the hunting! Tired of the grind and looking for an outdoor adventure? Not experienced? No problem! The area is well known for it's productive hunting ranches at affordable prices!

Visit for the community! A vibrant, although rather small community with all the amenities! Convenient shopping, more then it's fair share of Bed and Breakfasts, and even Bon Bonaparts, a hidden gem with four star French cuisine! Not just fun, safe! Although it's location is kept hidden, Copperton was chosen as one of the essentially located communities for a government emergency food store!

-The University and the Southern Brotherhood Are now at war!
-The Tribes and the Confederate Remnant are currently allied.

The front becomes more dynamic!
A critically important defense by Bell-John Hood in the north has finally halted the continual advance of Brotherhood Knights. His coalition forces held key fuel stores even after nearly two weeks of constant bombardment. The stalled Brotherhood forces now face the first well fortified line they have since the first outbreak of war, and as more and more debtor troops flood into the front, an excess of labor has resulted in increasingly defensible posts.
In an effort to avoid loss of momentum, Brotherhood troopers outside of the main front are reportedly being diverted towards attacks on spread researchers from the university. With few mercenaries willing to face the Brotherhood outright, the University is facing devastating losses even as the Confederacy finally seems to find stability in its ranks. The Confederacy hopes that this may finally spurn the University into sharing basic techniques for large scale production of firearms, but the University is still hesitant in providing the Remnant with a means to supply themselves with a mass amount of equipment, even as basic as it may be.

The West Continues to stabilize
Although Skirmishes between Rangers and Lobber recruits are still often and widespread, the leadership of the two organizations is increasingly trying to reign in the feud. Infighting between various Lobber gangs has left the organization exhausted, and although it seems a more peaceful leadership has retaken control, information on the LBE is still notoriously unreliable. More concretely, various different toll roads and systems of highway ambush are appearing on the western border of Louisiana, and gang presence is continually weakening outside of these more passive efforts.
The Rangers, too, it seems, are encountering a wide variety of trouble, and as their region of influence expands resistance towards the movement is increasing drastically. Even as establishment of safer trading routes in Eastern Texas earns them favor among many travelers, local ruffians and more entrenched populaces are increasingly attacking and attempting to profit from raids and robberies from the group. Even so, the Ranger's newfound ability to divert Ranger's from the east and their increasing funds from bodyguard missions and the clearing of smaller gangs has reinforced their ability to post, and make good on, bounties they place on local gang leaders and ne'er do wells who have a history of offenses against the Rangers.
