DSi: Necessary or Nintendo greed

Is it worth paying more than the price of a lite for DSiWare and some extra onboard features?

Well, I would wait to find out what the DSiWare games are and how good they are.

I don't know what to make of the DSi, the camera feature isn't that great looking, maybe of equal or lesser quality of a cell phone, but that's why I have a Camera. If the DS Ware is as crappy as some of the games on WiiWare, definitely not buying it. I probably won't buy it anyway, unless a Mario game gets on there.

I already got a ds AND a dslite so whats the point?

Unless they make things that are only for the DSi AND really good, there is no point to getting it. Therefore i am not getting it. I mean what is the point of having a camera? If you have a cellphone and you bring it everywhere, there is no point to having a DOUBLE camera because most cellphones have cameras.

What I'm afraid of, is that knowing Nintendo, they will say it is not meant to replace the DS, but then they will start releasing games with features exclusive to the DSi. Then they will probably discontinue the DS lite.

Even though it is very easy to find Game Boy emulators online, it would be kind of cool if they used this for a GB and GBC virtual console. They could have some awesome features like wireless linking and maybe even Wifi for the games that allowed multiplayer. They could also use it to emulate the N64's transfer pack for games like Pokemon Stadium and Mario Golf, between the Wii and DS. I doubt they would do anything that awesome though

I was kinda hoping for a GB VC. It's a great idea, and the only reason I would ever THINK of buying it.

Yeah, even if it was to have a VC it would have to have a lot of good games before I would consider it. I'm proud to still have my original, giant, Game Boy-style DS

Super Mario Land, Game Boy Zeldas, and a bunch of other ones.

Yeah, me too, and then the Lite came out, and there was hardly any accessories for the original DS. So I got a Lite! But I'm not getting a DSi...

I don't like the Lite, its really hard to adjust for the size difference and the different button placements from the original DS.

The original had a better slogan too, how can you beat "Touching is Good"?

I bought the original at a store for $10 less than the lite which was right next to it. I didn't know the difference back then. =V

Meh. They've always done a third revision of there portables before, so I'm not too surprised.

Here's what I mean:
Game Boy > Game Boy Pocket > Game Boy Color

Game Boy Advance > Game Boy Advance SP > Game Boy micro

Nintendo DS > Nintendo DS Lite > Nintendo DSi

The Micro did horrible.

At least this should be the last DS. It's a good system, but we don't need 3. Sorry, Nintendo.

I am quite happy with my DS lite. Yes the DSi may have a few extras and more options, but for me its not something I would get. It will not play and gameboy advance games. I think that maybe Nintendo has a hidden agenda behind it to kinda phase out the gameboy advance and its games.

Too many conspiracies like that are around to rule that out...that's probably their true motives.

But I like the DS. I think they should of waited a bit to make the DSi have two widescreens and PSP-esque graphics because other than that, it's a DS with a camera and DSware.

Unless of course they make GB VC...I like that idea: Super Mario Land...Wario Land...

...All those Zeldas I mysteriously never bought. Yeah, I might just get the thing if it has a GB VC. But after a price cut. X-Play got a rumor it's going to be $180.

HAHA I didn't think there'd be a THIRD DS. i just hope it's close to the same size as the Lite, or there won't be any accessories that fit the Lite anymore.
