So, I pretty much joined this forum a] to talk with other diehard SMRPG fans and b] to hype up my own SMRPG-related artwork. I used to do everything on deviantART, but I've since gotten my own webspace, and I wanted to see what people think of it and, more importantly, the artwork therein. This is one I just finished, and it's my current definitive SMRPG fanart. Many of you may find this to be very... nostalgic, in a manly-tears sort of way. Read the description for much SMRPG sentimentality. I'm thinking of sending this to Nintendo, too... anybody recommend a way to get someone to see it? I've got a bunch more SMRPG art on my deviantART - arczero.deviantart.com. I really think you SMRPG fans will enjoy it. I've actually started a comic / manga / graphic novel of the game's story there, as well as on the respective page on teamsketch.com, but I'm waiting on my colorist before we continue with it. Wow, that is absolutely amazing. Geno looks fantastic, and I love how you drew so he kind of fades into the shadows, or that's what it appears to me anyways... I also love how you surrounded him with all the wishes found on Star Hill, and added some ones of your own too. It's a pretty unique touch, but very pretty nonetheless. My favorite wish happens to be the big one under Geno, as that is currently one of my wishes The teardrop at the end is a very nice touch, it really shows the feelings and emotions that you put into this while making it. Overall the picture is fantastic, had I been attending Otacon '08, you bet I would be right there trying to buy one from you, or do whatever I could to get one heh. It really is a beautiful piece, I'd totally even buy one from you via online transaction, but only if you were cool with that heh. Thank you for showing this here, without your post I'd have missed out on seeing such a nice work of art of an awesome character.

Yeah, I just changed up the organization of the site the other day - sorry about that! It's fixed now, though! I edited the link, so you can check out the page with its description. I might as well put it here in the thread, too...

*stares and stares*
This . . . this perfectly describes how I feel. The wishes, Geno in the shadows, even the tear . . . Now I'm starting to tear up . . .
The ending never fails to make me cry, as silly as it may sound. The part after the parade, the fireworks, the moment of darkness while the music plays and then you see Geno fly back onto the screen and you see him flying back up to the heavens . . . That part gets me every single time.
I'm so tempted to beat the game and watch the ending again after seeing your art . . .
I would love to have a copy of that art if at possible, but I understand if you can't . . .

Much appreciated comments! The wish under Geno kinda serves as the "sum" of all the wishes there... that seems to be the most common wish of all SMRPG fans. Not all of them, but most, I'd say... it's definitely my #1 regarding SMRPG and its return.

If you don't mind waiting a few months, I'll be making prints to prepare for Otacon - I'd definitely be cool with doing business with you via the interwebs!

Not silly one bit... that was my entire motivation for doing this picture. The ending always gets me too.
| QUOTE (Super Mallow) | I personally don't like how Geno was drawn, but it is a very awesome picture. 'Cept the tear. It looks beveled and clashes with everything else |
To each his own. I've subconsciously developed my own style of Geno over the years, and it's a pretty stark change compared to his original stubby 3D sprite. I try to make him look like the kind of artwork Square-Enix puts out these days - slender and lithe, with that crazy protruding hair and whatnot. That's the style I'm using in the SMRPG webcomic, anyway. And regarding the tear, I agree with you somewhat... I figured hardcore SMRPG fans would be more forgiving with it, having read the trivia behind it, but no blood lost... it is what it is, a token of affection mingled with sorrow.

Most definitely, just drop me a PM for pricing and stuff when you're ready, I'd love to buy one of these from you. I also have AIM or MSN for convenience :]
