Title: Let NP know what we want!
Description: Important!

Xihix - April 2, 2008 10:40 PM (GMT)
I'll repost what I said at the Gamefaqs boards:

Nintendo Power wants to know what games we want for the Virtual Console, as asked in the new issue their magazine (bottom right corner, page 25). It says:

Wanted!
What classic games do you want to see come to the Virtual Console? Send us up to five picks (only for systems currently represented on Virtual Console) at vcpoll@futureus.com. We'll print the results in an upcoming issue. Note: This is for polling purposes only, and will in no way determine future Virtual Console releases.

Yes, it will not determine future VC titles. However, there are two aspects to how companies decide to do things. One, the fans. This rarely happens... But the second one is demand. Why? Money. Getting it printed on NP will be our best way to truly show the demand. This would hopefully show Square even more why they need to port it to the DS, allow it to be put on the VC, or hell, make a sequel. So, email NP and tell them, we want Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars!

The email is again: vcpoll@futureus.com

This is excellent!! At last a chance!

Super Mallow - April 3, 2008 12:16 AM (GMT)
Check site. It was up on there.

(But redirect this to announcements)

Oshiro Akina - April 3, 2008 02:23 PM (GMT)
This just makes my day . . . I am definitely sending them an e-mail. <333

Thank you so much for finding this out!

EDIT: I just sent them an e-mail . . . Hopefully this poll will help bring back SMRPG . . .

Xihix - April 3, 2008 08:19 PM (GMT)
Oh, sorry I missed your post in the announcements. Oh well.

Super Mallow - April 4, 2008 01:18 AM (GMT)
No problem. I made the announcement topic after this, it was just on the site before. Maybe it didn't display yet and needed to be refreshed, it's possible

I put my email in the second I saw this on Legacy's front page. :D

The note said they wanted to know what your top 5 picks are... just curious, what'd everybody put for their top 5 (besides SMRPG, of course)? Kirby Super Star, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Earthbound, and Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures were my 2-5.

I think it's interesting that they made the disclaimer for the likelihood of the games being released on VC... I bet they're expecting waves of rabid fans, possibly SMRPG and Final Fantasy and such. But this could be yet another testament to the mass of fans waiting for a sequel, something to get Nintendo's (or Nintendo Power's, at least) attention in a way they can't ignore. I hope they print the top 5 games when this is over.

They said they would show them in a future issue. Anyways, my 2-5 were:

2. Earthbound (I've gone through it once 100% and I'd like to do it again simply because Ness is again my main in Brawl.)

3. Rocket Knight Adventures (An awesome Konami game that they absolutely wrecked with the sequel. It's basically what you'd get if you mixed Sonic the Hedgehog and Castlevania.)

4. Mischief Makers (Yet another miseribly underrated game. Why this was never made into a long standing franchise is beyond me.)

5. Star Fox (A game I've only played a little bit of but have never had the oppurtunity to go all the way through it.)

Keiji Dragon - April 13, 2008 08:29 PM (GMT)
My list:

1. EarthBound (SNES)
2. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
3. Mother (Japan only) (NES)
4. Super Mario RPG (SNES)
5. Virtual Bart (SNES)

Keon XVII - April 14, 2008 09:30 PM (GMT)
Here's the list I sent:

1) Super Mario RPG (the first RPG I ever played, and my favorite of the Mario RPGs)
2) Earthbound (I've never played this game, but I've seen other people play it and I've been dying to try it out)
3) The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (my favorite 3D Zelda game)
4) Bomberman 64
5) Tetris Attack

Super Mallow - April 15, 2008 01:15 PM (GMT)
I actually said...

1) Super Mario RPG
2) Super Mario RPG
3) Super Mario RPG
4) Super Mario RPG
5) Super Mario RPG

No kidding =P

But then I said I know I'm being stupid and can't vote for it 5 times and went to this list:

1) Super Mario RPG
2) Super Mario RPG
3) Super Mario RPG
4) Super Mario RPG
5) Chrono Trigger

mozartate - April 15, 2008 11:06 PM (GMT)

daveyhuds - April 17, 2008 12:15 AM (GMT)

Oshiro Akina - April 17, 2008 12:24 AM (GMT)
I pretty much wrote an essay stating that I would like to see Super Mario RPG on the VC and the reasons why . . . I didn't really list anything else because I wanted SMRPG to be my focus . . .

The Radiance Paladin - April 21, 2008 03:01 PM (GMT)

Don't worry Super Mallow, we believe you. If we didn't believe you, none of us wouldn't be here (LOL).

Mr. Bojiggler 12: Yes, that’s correct.
Culex: (Sigh of relief) I thought I was a goner.
Mr. Bojiggler 12: Except…like the fans say…One Super Mario RPG game with no true sequel just ain’t enough!

ctt4lfecw - May 5, 2008 01:46 PM (GMT)
Guys...the results are in!

1) Earthbound
2) SUPER MARIO RPG
3) Chrono Trigger
4) Mother
5) LOZ: Majora's Mask

Check gamefaqs, this poll is correct in I believe the April issue of NP. AND EarthBound just got Rated! Nintendo is listening. Earthbound has been rated E! And keep voting guys, because Nintendo still wants to know what we want, they're still taking votes for next month's poll! Let's get Mario RPG in first place! Send as many votes as you can, tell a friend! NOTE: The editors also picked Mario RPG in their list as well!

Super Mallow - May 5, 2008 05:26 PM (GMT)
Or you could just check the main site and have seen the same thing days ago

ctt4lfecw - May 6, 2008 11:09 PM (GMT)
I've tried posting the link to vote on Super Mario RPG videos on YouTube. It's like a street campaign or something. ha I bet they're a lot of Mario RPG fans out there that still don't know they have a voice finally. At last there's an outlet.
