Title: Version 5, Type 2

Super Mallow - November 25, 2005 09:16 PM (GMT)
I posted this is feedback because I do not need to take away from the current announcement

Anyways, the site has taken a visit/page views hit since the hacking. Expected right? While that may have been a good thing (Now I have a reason to gain visitors), I still need to stabalize it

So, I reworked V5. For some reason, when it's done, I feel as though this could be a good one. It's completely in beta, and I really need some suggestions

I know, 1 color, same nav bar. Chill, it's in complete beta. I'm still working on it

Hm... I really like this. I think its better than the orange model. I particularly like how you put up tabs at the top for the games.

My only suggestions would be to put some color or graphic in the white area of those tabs and make a totally retronely* background, and maybe leave the inside the way it is.

I also like those graphics... nice cool colors... its cool. Or maybe I just like dark themes too much. I dunno.

*my word of the week.

I made an updated version - more towards a final product

Wow, I'm really loving the design. Only one thing I don't like, the background behind the tabs at the top, the white looks odd and misplaced.

Super Mallow - November 26, 2005 03:46 AM (GMT)
I've changed a lot but saved it as a different file name, so I'll post those soon

Super Mallow - November 26, 2005 04:10 AM (GMT)
This is the good one:

Base everything off that

mariofan12 - November 26, 2005 04:45 AM (GMT)
Dang thats awesome, well, theres really nothing that I dislike. Can't wait till it's finished.

Shadow Master - November 26, 2005 04:56 AM (GMT)
@_@

Keep it that way!! =)
I think you should just change the white between the tabs, but otherwise its great!

Super Mallow - November 26, 2005 05:07 AM (GMT)
The white between the games is there so they look like Folder Tabs

I've tried it with different colors.....and it doesn't work. But, I might be able to make it that way. Dark Blue on Blue is somewhat decent, though white/silver looks much better

Shadow Master - November 26, 2005 05:18 AM (GMT)
Well whichever works out best. Personally I really don't mind it too much. It doesn't really stick out a lot.

Max - November 26, 2005 05:19 AM (GMT)
Can't you just have the backdrop/screenshot extend down farther around the tabs? I think that would look better.

Shadow Master - November 26, 2005 05:21 AM (GMT)
Oh yeah, just curious, but I saw it on the side bar and I was wondering, are you ever going to actually make the secret page? Or is there already one and the message that says "it is not done yet" just a hint/trick? lol

Kamek - November 26, 2005 06:24 AM (GMT)
I like it better than the orangeish one. I especially like the tabs on top, and the colors are much easier to digest.

Geno seems a little wierd, but not necessesarily a bad choice.

Paratroopa - November 26, 2005 09:14 AM (GMT)
I like it! <3 The colours go well and the tabs are pretty neat...

....But, to risk sounding like every other person who's posted in this thread, I don't like the white behind the tabs. </3

It's great, but obviously it needs a banner, which I'm sure you're in the process of making or you're going to do. I really think it could use more to it. Right now I don't see too many differences from V4... except the color and text, etc... I seriously don't know what to tell you to liven it up, but I just think it's too plain right now. It looks good though, nonetheless.

^_^

I'll probably think up something that it needs and I'll let you know.

;)

Hyper Geno - November 26, 2005 04:18 PM (GMT)
It's okay, but I acctualy liked the orange one better. Your next layout should be in Macromedia Flash ( :P ) like:

l3lade_masta - November 26, 2005 05:52 PM (GMT)
A Flash website would be cool, but I don't think the whole website should be flash. Maybe an introduction... that would be awesome. Course it would be neat to see stuff moving on that version you've made. I take it the four categories at the top will scroll down if u go over them. That will be cool. I like that effect. I personally like it better than the other Version 5.

;)

I like this one a lot!

That whole thing with the colored screens and Geno and the text "Super Mario RPG Legacy' might be that banner thingy you're talking about =P

The screenshot thing above the tabs going into them is slicing, not quite my level yet, like the flash

l3lade_masta - November 26, 2005 07:21 PM (GMT)
No, I'm not talking about V4, except for when I compared the colors. It's just a darker blue. What I was saying about the banner is you need to make a banner for V5 if you haven't already, because for me nothing comes up... if there is one I mean. Just categories of Mario RPGs.

-_-

I've seen tutorials on slicing and coding for webpages. I've actually read up on a lot of tutorials dealing with webpage designing. I'm sure you could find somewhere a category-scrolling-down effect. Maybe not flash... but you know. I mean I don't even know if you have any experience with flash, but the scrolling categories could be done on ImageReady if you already know how to do it or if you read those totorials. I'm sure you can find something on good-tutorials on how to do it... if you need it of course...

The banner's there.........at least, for the rest of us....

Try to take a PRNT SCRN so I can see what the problem is...maybe?

l3lade_masta - November 26, 2005 07:28 PM (GMT)
http://www.smrpglegacy.com/v5blue/nav3.jpg

That's all that shows up for me... Well, there's more of em to the side I mean, with different RPGs, but other than that there's nothing above it...

Super Mallow - November 26, 2005 07:31 PM (GMT)
Ok..........that's strange....

l3lade_masta - November 26, 2005 07:33 PM (GMT)
Something I realize it does need is maybe more of a variety of colors, and maybe sprites, or official art in the background of the categories on the left side maybe...

Super Mallow - November 26, 2005 07:36 PM (GMT)
I'd say the banner covers most of that

Along with the tags, that's the best part....so you need to see that first

Try refreshing?

l3lade_masta - November 26, 2005 07:39 PM (GMT)
No it won't come up no matter what I do. It might be the computer I'm on. This isn't the computer I normally use, but still.. I don't see why it wouldn't show up. Could it be the file type?

Super Mallow - November 26, 2005 07:41 PM (GMT)
It's JPEG - everything is JPEG

l3lade_masta - November 26, 2005 07:48 PM (GMT)
Well I don't know what the problem is then. There isn't even a User Posted Image thing with the red X, there's just nothing there... Maybe I should just wait til I get home and see if it works there.
