Title: Culex...
Description: What about him..?

l3lade_masta - August 2, 2004 03:39 AM (GMT)
What's the point of fighting Culex... just to get experience...? Cause he's not really anything to do with the story, infact, he's more like a note that some Final Fantasy guy added into the Mario story, cause even the victory music is Final Fantasy, and not the usual SMRPG battle music... LoL.

To tell you the truth.. I haven't really beat Culex, I just fought him and I always died, probably cause I never use Peach to heal, my party's always Mario, Geno, and Bowser. What do you get when you beat him or something? ...Oh well.. kinda pointless topic... go on with what you were doing... LoL.

Mr. Zap - August 2, 2004 12:48 PM (GMT)
He IS worth more experience than anyone else.
But, when you beat him all you get is a Quartz Charm.

l3lade_masta - August 2, 2004 04:42 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I just read about him on another site...

I wonder why Squaresoft even bothered putting him in there though...

Nash - August 2, 2004 04:44 PM (GMT)
Culex is cool. That is the point of fighting him

l3lade_masta - August 2, 2004 04:53 PM (GMT)
LoL. Yeah he is. But it just seems weird they'd put this Final Fantasy-looking boss into the Mario RPG. I guess Squaresoft just wanted to have some fun or something...

^_^

Kinda goes along with the Link and Samus Cameo thing too I suppose. I guess you could ask the same thing about that, but the answer is the same.

Yeah all the cameos made the game even better I think.

l3lade_masta - August 2, 2004 05:04 PM (GMT)
Sadly, I've never seen any of them in the game.. I need to start playing it again. But sadly, I gave away my SNES to my sister.

-_-

I've never gotten to see Link, or Samus, or beat Culex for that matter... but anyway... my question is answered I think for the most part, so this conversation is over.

B)

Silence_Knight - August 5, 2004 07:54 AM (GMT)
just to let you know the Quartz Charm if i rembember right doubles your attack power, which is really good.

l3lade_masta - August 5, 2004 10:04 AM (GMT)
I see... makes sense. Culex is a hard boss...

They might of put Culex in so you could get a Quartz Charm and to give people who find the game too easy a challange. I was actually able to beat him one time! But then the door closed and I couldn't fight him again.

Rowen17 - September 17, 2004 06:15 AM (GMT)
Culex really isnt that hard at all, I beat him no problem with geno/mallow
All you need is the Lazy shell and the safety ring and its like impossible to lose.

Lazy shell armor makes magic attacks do NO DAMAGE and so does the safety ring (not safety badge) but to a lesser degree. I just gave mallow the lazy shell and geno the ring and they never died.
Mario on the other hand died right off the bat, I didnt even bother healing him

Culex is very tough if you dont have those items though, Though I have beaten him both ways He is very challanging without them

If your playing the game for a challenge or think its too easy i wouldnt recommend useing these items.

That's 'cos he got dropped on his head when he was born :P

Nash - September 21, 2004 08:51 PM (GMT)
he is cool and sexy! j/k

Mr. Zap - September 21, 2004 09:46 PM (GMT)
This topic's OLD, man.
Ha!
Old Man!!!

geno - September 30, 2004 02:47 AM (GMT)
he isn't that tough. get the lazy shell weapon and armor and you are practically invincible.

mario - lazy shell weapon
bowser - drill claw
peach - lazy shell armor

have peach do all the healing and have mario and bowser take out culex. at the conclusion of the battle, you hear the final fantasy battle completion theme. culex IS actually a cameo from an old final fantasy.

geno888 - October 2, 2004 11:48 AM (GMT)
Culex is one of the coolest bosses I mean u go through all that to find him then have the craziest battle in the game. It's awesome.

Anthony - October 4, 2004 01:55 AM (GMT)
In most Square RP games they have these hidden bosses that you have the option of fighting. Cluex does get easy after you beat him a couple times(not in a single game).

No, he isn't.
Well, maybe he's in Final Fantasy 5, which was only
released in Japan.
I'm sayin' this cause I play Final Fantasy and I want to get something straight.
Okay?

Jagger - October 24, 2004 02:35 AM (GMT)
culex adds a special feeling to the game that make's it feel really unique.

yes it's totally off topic but it's cool to fight somthing from a whole other universe (as culex say's)

mabye the meaning of it is

all video games have there own world

all of those worlds are in the same universe

when those two world's meet anything can happend

..then again mabye it was just a random idea to add in Culex for the fight.

Geno Star - November 25, 2004 09:35 PM (GMT)
Ah... Yes... Culex from Final Fantasy 4... A true battle indeed. Worth the money for the fireworks spent.

James - November 27, 2004 09:49 AM (GMT)
Culex is the boss of Monstro Town?
oh! I love him! principally the music!
he is very difficult
he is more stronger than smithy!

Fawful - November 30, 2004 11:54 PM (GMT)
Well, Nintendo Power DID say that Culex was being from Final Fantasy 2, however I have not been finding him with or without the same name.

finalhazard - December 1, 2004 12:04 AM (GMT)
Culex was inspired by Final Fantasy 2 concept art. His battle theme is the boss battle theme from FF 2, "Convo with Culex" is the Prelude, and .... forgot what the other was. O_O

saint - December 1, 2004 12:27 AM (GMT)
Well go read my cluex guide to beating him im sure my plan will work.

Lemon - December 1, 2004 01:57 AM (GMT)
It is easy if you get lazy shell, and use Peach for survival.

Dragon DASH - December 3, 2004 08:13 AM (GMT)
He's extremely difficult to defeat if you're party is not over level 25, based on my first experence I mean. But it's kind of worth it, you may automatically gain a level up and a Quartz Charm.

and....

If you manage to defeat him and/or without having a member lost during battle,
you should consider yourself an advanced player. ;)

ThE_HaMmeRBro - December 3, 2004 01:17 PM (GMT)
You have to use that trick from KKcola

saint - December 3, 2004 10:51 PM (GMT)
Just have peach with the damn lazy shell and have her heal while everyone else kicks cluex's ass.

Bacube - March 22, 2005 01:08 AM (GMT)
1.Peach with Lazy Shell
2.Let mario and other partner die
3.Wait till all your enimies run out of FP
4.Heal party and go wild

l3lade_masta - March 25, 2005 07:23 AM (GMT)
Bacube, that is yet another warning for Bumping a post up. As much as I am proud to see my post get bumped up... LoL ...this topic is pretty much dead. Though Culex can still be discussed about, it would have been best if had just either replied in the newer post about this, or started a new one. Please stop doing this...

-_-

Kirbyfan103 - March 25, 2005 08:32 PM (GMT)
I've fought Culex quite a few times, though I haven't beaten him yet.
