Name: Owain Dreyrugr
Age: Not known, but known to be among the second generation of vampires. Estimated about Two Hundred years younger than Raskar
Height: 6’8
Build: Owain is built like a dancer, lithe and sinewy as compared to others of his kind who have had rich and full diets of humans.
Social Problems: Owain, like his compatriot Caul, is a blood sucking dinizen of darkness and as such is at a loss during many social occasions.
Noctunal dweller of night: Owain lives within the dark, indeed he thrives with it. Its allure prevents him from hunting in the way vampires usually do (by ingratiating themselves into a group that operates during the day and slowly killing them off.) In fact, he prefers to hunt at night using just his claws and his wits, the way (In his eyes) a true vampire should.
Honour of the warrior: Owain, being a human from before the modern era, is concerned very strongly with his 'Honour' or his standing within the tales told. To him the idea that he is painted as being a dripping horror with no more honour than an animal is unthinkable, and swift vengeance usually follows. (Note that despite his habit of honouring all those that choose to fight him, he considers Raskar beyond honour, a dangerous beast to be killed at all costs.
Powers:
To Dissapear From The Hearts And Minds Of Men: Owain is indescribably old for a non divine being. His Origins stretch back into the mists of time, and only the few who were born before could ever have a chance of remembering where he began. All this experience has given him the ability to disappear totally from human knowledge, sometimes for centuries on end. Owain doesn’t want you to find him, then you won’t.
Mesmerize: Owain has spent the best part of his life learning techniques to enable easier hunting. The one he uses the most is a technique whereby he emits a pheromone, drawing every human that is downwind from him inexplicably towards him. They are in perfect control of their actions, but they feel the pull, and are pained to resist it.
Legend Living Among Us: Owain is, to all extents and purposes, a living myth or legend in the mind of most of the population. He was always the sadistic helper travelling in the wake of death (an obvious allusion to Raskar, or perhaps Olaf.) As such, he is able to defeat most opponents with his bare hands: thanks to his feeding on the raw tide of emotion at his unveiling. It will sustain him as well as any create of matured blood cultivated from dragons or aniven, and will keep him going like an unstoppable tide, never relenting.
Gray Mist From Beyond: Owain learnt the same craft early on in his life as Olek Skilgannon (the fallen angel) and could turn himself into a fine mist. However, his mist is tinged with red, and is slightly more silver in colour. However, in this form he is not invunerable as he is far more succeptable to wind based attacks than he would be normally, and indeed more than once he has been known to reform and take a few arrows or a sword to the gut to avoid the horrific death that would ensue should the mist be dissapated.
Regeneration: Being a vampire lord and (technically) oldest vampire still walking, Owain posesses regeneration beyond anything humans could withstand. However, this does not make him totally immortal, andd he can still be killed like any other vampire or lord.
Diminish Existance: Owain can step into a shadow and dissapear, reappearing out of another. This may explain his almost unnacoutable ability to dissapear from all knowledge, but it is also a good technique to hold in battle. He cannot walk through the shadow if he is in mist form.
Looks: Tall, swarthy and handsome are all words that have been used to describe his features. Famously for a vampire, he has eyes that do not change with the ingestion of blood, remaining the same stormy blue with a light golden ring around the iris. His nose and mouth are perfectly proportioned, and his medium length hair falls down to his shoulders. The only mar on his beauty is the dark circles around his eyes, caused by so many nights and days spent without sleep.
History: Owain has a beginning, but the whole story was lost in the mists of time. Only two men knew the full story, and one of those is dead. The early reports bill him as some sort of horrific monster, hiding behind the cloak of death until he had passed, and then striking out at innocent victims. This story has a grain of truth; as he was, for many years, a member of the Riz’Kar Clan and frequently went out on raids with Raskar.
What turned the obedient lackey into the methodical and silent immortal mastermind is a mystery, but we do know that one day Raskar grew tired of his associate, and left him to die chained to a rock. His screams echoed off the cliffs, disturbing the birds and sending them flying from their nests. “Curse you! I swear that I will live, and that one day I will drink deeply from the sweet cup of revenge! I’ll live, and the cursed accord we signed will be burnt to the ground as a sign of my second coming! Remember, there have been worse things I’ve done!”
How he escaped, and survived the sun’s rays, is not known. Perhaps some long buried power erupted in him at the betrayal, or perhaps Raskar’s entire family share the same unique ability of surviving even when they should be dead. After that, he wandered for many years, dropping his original name and becoming Owain Dreyrugr. He saw the fall of his old clan, and wept that his chance for vengeance had been so cruelly taken away from him.
For a while, he travelled and lived on his legend as the oldest vampire still in existence. All that changed with Raskar’s return. He now has a reason to hunt once more, and across the boundless hills and gullies of his former land, to the north of Italy and former France the cries of joy echo as the wolves run once more in the trees of Cellweirus Vale
Race: Vampire Lord
Religion: Owain does not worship the petty gods of mortals. The promise of life everlasting is a gift sought by fools, and he does not wish for another life after his time is up.
Friends: None
Weapons:
Wailing Doom(Dimensions - 90cm/? Inches)
The Wailing doom is a weapon which is forged from the iron; collected from the corpses of slain shapeshifters, dragon kin and other abhumans by the people of Cellweirus Vale. It was shaped, and strenghtened with Nickel to become a steel mass, shapless and ever twisting with magic. The Wailing doom's neutral form is that of a sphere of ornate metal, forever rippling and changing. However, it can take the form of almost any weapon Owain wishes, be that a spear, a sword or an axe to name but a few.
(Disclaimer - Ar'dith, a character controlled and created by one Gohtlin Tai is the oldest vampiric creature still in existance, but as he is a Werepyre I thought it ok to place the title of supposed oldest vampire upon Owain, with relation to Raskar made within the profile)
