What is a plot?
A Plot is a storyline set up by a member of this forum with a certain objective/event/task.

An example of a plot could be:
A Demon from another realm has been plaguing a village for some time, it resides deep within the dark mountains, you and a group of friends have been tasked in slaying the beast

Am I allowed to make a plot although I'm not a mod/admin
Yes, any member of the forum is allowed to make their own plot whether or not they are a high ranking member of the forum, but if it is a plot that will result in whole places being destroyed, then they should ask approval for the plot, or it will be discounted.

How do I make a plot?
Simply make a thread with an interesting storyline that will keep people interested.

Some plots, for example my own "Religious warfare plot" were not intended to actually be a plot, but as interest grew and the story escalated it involved in a plot with several other threads.

Other threads have been made with the intention of becoming a plot and have grown into interesting storylines.

A simple way of making a plot is posting your idea on the mission board in the Lost Soul tavern with your idea and seeing how many brave adventurers are bold enough for your task.

Can a plot be just between me and some friends and no-one else?
Of course. If you want a plot only to involve you and some friends then make sure you put "Private" in ether the topics name of description. This way only people who are invited to post in the thread will be allowed to.

Alternatively you can make the thread open which means anyone who wants to join in the plot can do so at will.

Is a plot only one thread or..?
It can be one thread. It can also be several.

Many plots have started of in one thread the "main thread" and then split off into several other threads.

For example, the "Religious warfare" thread had one main thread in which the main attacks were being directed from. And smaller parts of the plot such as the arson that burn down the chapel.

Although it is perfectly okay for your plot to be a single thread, which is more common in smaller plots.

I've made the plot, what now?
So you've made the plot.

You have to make sure you can generate enough interest into the plot to keep it running. You can do this by posting your idea in the "New plots" section of the forum with links to your plot and maybe a quick introduction to what its about.

Once the plot is up and running, you have to make sure it keeps running, and be prepared for it to change direction a few times.

If you forget to manage your plot it will most likely die down.


Making your plot a good plot
Here are a few tips:
Keep it interesting
Realistic
Don't be to controlling over what goes on
Be free to changes in the story
Don't go over the top
Stick to the storyline
Make it in places people don't usually post
Give it an interesting title
Think of something original

Things to remember when making a plot
Put the plot title in the topic description of allposts concerning the plot
If its private make sure all topics concerning the thread are labelled as so
Do not readily kill off members characters without their permission
Make sure what ever "big bad" your up against isn't too overpowered
Do not make something that will effect the world too much without permission from an admin.

My plot finished now what?
Now you go to the "Finished plot" section and create a topic sharing the title of your plot.

The post should include links to all topics concerning your plot and a sort sum up of events that happened during your plot/what the plot was about.
