->Coheed and Cambria (Prog Rock concept band) ->King Crimson (THE ORIGINAL prog rock band) ->Prize Fighter Inferno (The solo side-project of the above CoCa's lead singer/guitar player, some sort of electronica folk faux-country hip-hop ish thing) ->The Tragically Hip (pretty much music about Canada, ranging from very folky to hard-ish rock) |

What I like to listen to, when it comes to writing, can vary greatly. However, if you're listening while writing, I find lyrics to be distracting. If you're just trying to get some vibes to get some text going, then you more or less need lyrics.
Instrumental music, in short, is what I connect to writing. I don't know if electronic music qualifies as instrumental though. |
