| Welcome to the LC Josh! It's good to have fresh blood. I took a look at your art thread over at Mecha Talk and I like what I see. I sincerely hope your fiction is as good as your artistic talent. Any particular genre you're interested in writing in? PS: Try the cookies. |

| Hello everyone, as you can see my name is Josh. I also hail from Mechatalk, where I mostly just post in the Art section. My main forte at the moment is frankens but I'd like to break out and start writing down some of my ideas in the form of fanfics and original stories. Seraphic suggested I join this place for help and critique with that so I suppose here I am. I look forward to reading some interesting things from you guys as well as hopefully developing some sort of writing skill. |

| Greetings. I forgot to introduce myself before posting already. Yeah, so Antares, of MechaTalk -fame. Over there my largest project is my Gundam Seed Phoenix (or GSP as I like to shorten it) fanfiction, which is still alive! I mostly do short stories of contemplative nature, meaning there might not be a lot of plot but a lot of reflection. I also have a longer sci-fi story and a fantasy story well on the works, but I wanted to finish the fanfiction finally before really committing to those. Writing is a hobby for me, but if something gets published, that's always nice. I do also write more fact-based stuff when I get a good idea (commentaries, essays, etc.). I join The Lost Citadel because I thought it might be a good idea to have a forum to discuss writing and give and receive comments. |

Yup. LaughingMan is one of my friends, but we're more like brothers. I think his name comes from when he and I play co-op survival mode in Gundam vs Zeta Gundam. He uses =) as his signature, which is the laughingman. And I use +,+ which is the dead man, haha. He plays the Gundam MkII while I primarily use the Super Gundam or Gaplant. Anyway, welcome. =p |

| Member #Q has arrived. So....hey. I'm currently working on a SRW-style Fic, although it might take awhile as the cast of characters just exceeded that of your average SRW game. I'll post some of what i have of it as soon as i find the flash drive i put it on. I do have a habit of starting stuff and never finishing, so I'm counting on all of you for your criticism to keep me going. |

| Amadi Akintunde | Posted on May 13 2009, 01:46 AM | ||
| Amadi Akintunde here, or formerly 'Dustin' from Mechatalk. You should all mostly know me from my Kemal Dynasty Spec Book, Mobile Suit Gundam: Malebolge, and Tales of the Kemal Dynasty. Of course these are things which I write. Malebolge currently under heavy revision. Ever since I was 14 years old, I've been wanting to create my own Gundam universe, and with any luck and skill, officialize it not within Sunrise's jurisdiction, but Yoshiyuki Tomino's. Of course, the chances of this happening are slim to none, but hey, why not try? A 'warning' to all who will read my writing; I tend to try and develop new concepts of my own in my writing style, such as implementing ideas that haven't been suggested before, and etc. Seraphic should know this, what with the new Mobile Weapon concept I have going. Mobile Suit Gundam Malebolge, which is actually part of a multi-series Gundam Universe, in the similar style of the Universal Century, takes place in the year 0025 of the Kemal Dynasty. The Earth Federation exists no more, and in it's place, is the seemingly Totalitarian Purgatorus world organization. Following the turbulant world reorganization, the Earth seems to be in perfect order. However, far into the reaches of outer space, the disheveled former Federation space colonies are in a post-war trauma, struggling to survive under a sparsely controlled, lawless isolation from the rest of society as a result of the devastating civil war only 3 years ago. Amidst the dark and untrusting mood, a small taskforce calling itself 'Semper Fidelis' has initiated a secret plan to send six Mobile Suits to Earth, under orders to link up with the last of the remnant Federation forces, to return the Earth Federation to it's former place in the Earth System. However, things may not be as they appear to be... As you already may have noticed, this fiction seems to have a Gundam wing-ish theme to it. By no circumstance is that going to happen. I want this thing to be of my own accord, and my own writing. The entirety of the Kemal Dynasty is supposed to be somewhat grimdark, and written vastly differently from what Gundam series we have seen then and now. Malebolge will contain the theme of 'Just because you fought a war, it doesn't mean you know what it is to be a true soldier.' Generally speaking, the five teenagers plus one adult that are supporting the Semper Fidelis Earth Forces may have fought in a civil war, but do not know the harsh, intimidating and cruel life of a disciplined soldier. Throughout the middle point of Gundam Malebolge's first half, the 'Gundam Agents' will go through segregation due to their social status as children, and will be treated as such; even as they go through formal military training. Being denied certain privaleges, such as piloting their respective Gundams, will be commonplace as it really should be in military tradition. After all, they ARE 'delivery boys' meant to deliver the Gundams to the Federal Forces. Nowhere in their mission did it say that they were to fight against the Purgatorus. But as current events envelop and mangle them, the Gundam Agents are given an epiphany as to the life they have been shamelessly imitating for the past 3 years. Quite a synopsis, as you've read there. Though let me be clear on one thing: the Gundams will not be invincible. Hell, they're not even 'new technology'. It'll be the most realistic, as I'll try to write. Why? Cause even fighter jets will be able to take the Gundams down a notch. Course, I won't say anything more from there. So yeah. ...hi. |

Not fast enough to take place #3, I'm afraid! *maniacal laugh** As for copy/pasting, I save two separate versions of my drafts. One has forum tags and the other is clean. (It's important to note that Word should be able to do searches for all text that might be say...Italics or bold. Quite handy.) It's actually sort of a clumsy idea, but it works well enough for me. The problem is editing two files at once when I go back to fix things. >.>; I'm actually really glad that you're here. "That's all we need! No new members required!" Hahaha. |

| Member #4 here! I'm a proud Sailor in the US Navy, but unfortunately this also means that most of my time is devoured by 11/12-hour academic days in a school building that doesn't permit me to take anything in or out, which has the adverse effect of pretty much destroying the time in which I can write. Hopefully, I'll be able to post what I already have written over the weekend (is there a convenient way to copy+paste from Word while retaining such exotic things as indentation and italics without doing it all manually?), and, even more hopefully, I'll be able to update on a regular basis. It's great to be here, and I wish this board a happy and prosperous future! |

| Heretic Zed, aspiring writer/artist of science fiction and fantasy. Working almost full time in a job that keeps my hands busy but dose little to keep my attention so I spend a lot of time working out plot details. I’m entering college in the fall for theatrical production. Props, stage and special effects. My goal is to continue on into film production and hopefully get into the business of sci-fi and fantasy film making. I wouldn’t mind seeing some of my stories become films, but that’s a dream for farther down the way. It would also help if I actually finished anything… |
