What I like to listen to, when it comes to writing, can vary greatly. However, if you're listening while writing, I find lyrics to be distracting. If you're just trying to get some vibes to get some text going, then you more or less need lyrics.

Instrumental music, in short, is what I connect to writing. I don't know if electronic music qualifies as instrumental though. :D Gareth Emery is one of my favorites for the moment. If you have Spotify and are into electronic music, give him a go.
