The Chair Is Always Comfier, On The Other Side

Lounging in the pile of chairs, Admetus' body snaked around the bars of one particularly comfortable rocker. He was enjoying the evening sun and was basking in the cool breezes of the dusk. He loved the temperature at this time, the sun was just setting on the horizon, it was still warm, but the colder air kept it bearable. He didn't like being too warm at all. Though, now that he thought about it, it was no picnic being frozen either. But the nights when he got too chilly, he would usually sneak over to Etcy's house. Her fur was soft and she was fluffy; she was the perfect cuddle buddy.

Adme yawned and stretched, his tail flicking happily through the air. Part of him wished he could have some company to talk to, but he was often so nervous around others. Maybe or Etcy, or Munkustrap, he was his hero, afterall. Or even Demeter. The night on the shore he had talked to her had made it much easier to speak to her from then on.

Admetus sighed, the solitude got tiring after a while, but he tried to focus on the bright side, and enjoy the quiet while he had it.

Nono was sleeping in the pipe most of the afternoon and was just starting to wake. She slid herself out of the dark pipe and stretched. She breathed deeply, taking in the cool evening air. She rubbed her eyes to clear her vision and looked up to see a cat sitting on the chairs. He was clearly enjoying the cool breeze as well. She stretched once more and and made her way over to the tom who was lounging.

She looked up and jumped into the chair next to him. "Hi. Nice breeze tonight." she mewed while making herself comfy in the chair. She looked out into the empty junkyard and closed her eyes as another cool breeze ran through her brown fur.

Admetus was startled when the kitten jumped up next to him. He looked down at her and his tail curled around him protectively. He had seen this cat around the junkyard before, but he had never really talked to her. The one thing he did notice is how they seemed to look very similar, maybe they were the same breed or something.

Realizing how odd it must've seemed that he was just staring at her, Adme blushed and nodded. "Yeah, It's really nice out tonight." He began to relax more and his tail returned to swish through the air.

"What's your name again?" Admetus hated asking that question, but he rarely talked to cats that he didn't know. He usually just hung around with Etcy or Pouncival. "Sorry, I-I'm not very good at the whole name thing."

Nono took a deep breath on air, letting the cool breeze run through her fur. Its felt nice.

The kitten looked up at Admetus with a warm smile. "My names Nono." she mewed. She too had seen this cat around occasionally. He seemed quiet and reserved, much like herself at times. She looked back up to him. "Whats your name?" she asked quietly.

Admetus nodded in response to Nono's introduction. "My name is Adme. Well, Admetus, but a lot of people call me Adme." In fear of rambling, Admetus shut his mouth and thought of something more productive to talk about.

"Why are you here alone?" He didn't really realize that the question could end up sounding intrusive and rude, but most kittens traveled at least with another cat.

The kitten listened as the tom told her his name. "Admetus?..thats a cool name!" she mewed. Nono was fascinated by little things including names. They made her smile.

Nono nodded her head before answering Adme back. "Yuss! Im here by myself. Im from Manhattan and I had to ride a boat to get here." she mewed rather excitedly. She liked being in this junkyard rather than being across an ocean and being in a big city where no one cared about her.

Admetus looked suprised, and looked out into the distance thinking about how far that would be. He hadn't been far out of the junkyard before. And He had definitely never been out of the city limits before, at least, that he could remember. "That must've been exciting." He took a small pause and curled his tail around his torso. "Or scary."

"What was it like in...Man-hatt-in?" He sank into the chair more comfortably to listen to her describe her former home.

Nono nodded and sat back in the chair, letting her feet hand over. "Yeah I was more scared then excited. I knew the city at the back of my paw and then the boat took me away. I didnt know where I was." she mewed.

Nono thought for a moment before answering Admetus's question. "Well....it was big and there were tall buildings and there were lots and lots of people." she mewed remembering the towering buildings. "Oh and it was really loud too. There were a lot of cars honking ans stuff." she mewed nodding to herself, flicking her tail.

Tatiana's tail flicked back and forth lazily as she intently watched the two cats nearby. They seemed to be in a deep discussion, but Tatiana could only catch a few words of the conversation. She didn't mean to eavesdrop, but it looked like they were discussing something incredibly interesting...and at that moment, Tatiana was...well...bored. Her unusually-high amount of curiosity getting the better of her (Tatiana was not, by nature, an overly curious cat), the young queen crawled out from behind the bushes and walked over to the chairs. She blinked twice and raised her brown eyes to the other two felines. "Did I hear you say something about a city?" she asked the other queen.

Admetus pondered on the description Nono had given him, trying to figure out if he had ever been there or if he could at least recall hearing about it before this. He scratched behind his ear for a moment and before he had the chance to say anymore on the topic, he heard another feline join in the conversation. Adme looked and saw the cat standing in front of the chair, and his tail instinctively curled around his feet, his ears lowering for a second. He took a moment to observe the queen, a black, white, and bronze cat with a studded collar around her neck. "Oh, y-yes. We were talking about a city. Man-Hattin, the city where she came from," he explained, gesturing towards Nono.

Tatiana turned to the other queen, her eyes wide. "You lived in a city?! Wow, weren't you ever scared? I would have been. Oh, I'm Tatiana, by the way." She smiled shyly.
