A nonsensical tune drifted from the lips of the black and white queen as she made her way into the junkyard. How did she come upon this place? Oh yes, she was wandering her new neighborhood and happened to catch the scent of other cats; naturally, she followed it here. She passed mountains of tossed-away items, all the while wondering what kind of cats called this home. With luck, they might be those Jellicles she had heard about from the old cat next door. Her ocher eyes spotted the abandoned car and she instantly thought that she could get a much better view from up there. She jumped up and, as her clumsy luck would have it, slipped on the fender. Anyone who witnessed that would think it was rather odd. After all a cat who was a klutz? That was almost unheard of and utterly preposterous.
'Let's try that again shall we?' she thought as she got off of her backside. Instead of attempting to leap atop the car again, she merely climbed up as carefully as she could. She didn't want to take another spill today. Once she thought she was out of general harm's way, she directed her gaze to the layout of the junkyard. She was on one side, on top of an abandoned car. There were some chairs to one side and a large tire sitting across some junk to her right. The center of the yard was relatively clean, like a dance floor of sorts. The whole place smelled of cats, but where were they? -------------------- |

A slight crash came to the ears of the young queen. Startled, she stood upright, the white and bronze patches on her black body almost glowing in the moonlight. The queen poked her head around the corner of the pipe near which she had been (unsuccessfully) scavenging for food. Directing her gaze across the junkyard, she meowed quietly.
"Is someone there?" she asked. She was frightened; her heart was beating so loudly within her bronze chest that she was certain the whole world could hear it. -------------------- |
