Important Announcements, Please read these along with the rules.

Before anyone joined this bored, Victoria and I created a rule. However, we neglected to post it. It has been an increasing problem over the months, but not that I blame any of you, because no such rule is listed.

New Rule: You may not create a profile involving characters (other than your own) without the specific roleplayer's consent.

This rule is most often abused in two forms:

1. Many of you have created profiles with mates. This relationship is okay to create amongst your own made-up characters. However, you may not create relationships with characters that others play, made-up or from the origional musical, without the roleplayer's consent. This goes for all relationships; parents, children, best friends, enemies, etc.
Ex: "Victoria is the daughter of Jennyanydots and Skimbleshanks"<-- one could not create this relationship without consent of Jennyanydots and Skimbleshanks

2. Some have created histories involving Macavity. Such as he murdered/turtored your character's family. Macavity has a roleplayer on this board, and by putting this in your own history, you are modifying his history (which only he is allowed to do). Anything involving Macavity (any cat for that matter) and your character may not be created without the roleplayer's permission.

Hello Jellicles! I have two important requests that I would like you all to read.

1) Please do not be lazy in your posts. I am not a huge stickler for grammar, and you can spell as badly as bad is as long as you try, but please, please, use periods and capital letters. This is not so important on out of character boards, but on character descriptions and roleplays I request that you use some formality in your writing. It isn't fair to the other writers, who take the time to write organized profiles and posts. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just some decently written sentences.

2) Do not abuse making new threads. When the Jellicle Ball was working slowly, I spent a good 45 minutes deleting threads one at a time to get the website out of it's problem. I'm not sure if this alieviated the issue, but I think it helped. Making new threads makes Squee die. Do not make a new thread for every small personal thing. You may announce it on Squee. We have had WAY too many new threads lately all about announcments. It is cluttering the board. You may make announcements once and awhile, mostly for important things. A few examples are:

Polls, and be sure that they can include almost everyone, preferably everone.
Tragedies of Real Life, or important issues that are too serious to be Squee material
Important events, like if you are trying out for some school play or musical
Artwork, Sounds, or Videos you have made
Ads
New rules to be discussed
Birthdays


But, DO NOT abuse them. Don't make threads that more or less say "I'm bored, chat with me." That is what squee is for. Creating a new thread is a waste of space, and possibly slows down the website.

This is not a huge, huge deal. I'm not discouraging announcements. But lately they have been a little too frivolous and focus on one person alone, and it is not a big issue.

You might be compelled to make a silly one every so often. This I encourage. But no more than a few each month. DEFINATELY no more than one per week

Also, this abuse does not apply to all of you. I just don't want to name call. Also, I am not angry with people who have misunderstood the proper conduct. This is only the first time I've mentioned it.
