Character descriptions go here.

Example:

Name: (self-explanatory.) Ex.: Voldemort

Gender: (also self-explanatory.) Ex.: Male

Rank: (be sure to include what type of magic they use and their social class. explain briefly if necessary. if they are an animal or one of the winged people from Halcyon, include what they are and if they can use magic.) Ex.: Spirit Kea'datra, Emperor (tyrant)

Description: (what they look like, how they display themselves, etc. try to be specific and detailed.) Ex.: Voldemort is tall, slight, and pale, his appearance itself pure evil. He has unusual red, catlike eyes, a snakelike face, and long, spidery fingers. He holds himself with pride and with pure malevolence. Always cloaked in flowing black robes, he moves with a sinuous grace - like the snake, Nagini, he wears on his shoulders.

Personality: (how they act, their views and opinions that stand out, what they think, are they evil or good? feel free to elaborate and be detailed.) Ex.: Voldemort throughly believes that all common folk that can not use magic should be killed or enslaved. He is somewhat reckless and assuming, but he can be cautious when he smells danger. He will kill anyone in the way of what he wants carelessly, and likes to secure that he will never be beaten. He's very ambitious, and dreams of immortality. He will kill people and animals heedlessly for their Spirit magic. He is cold, ruthless, and had never known any friends or love.

Abilities:(how good their mental capacity is, how strong they are, do they know more than one power, how good are they at shapeshifting, weaknesses and strengths, battle tactics, and how capable they are without magic.) Ex.: Voldemort is extremely skilled at Spirit magic and even knows a little Life. He it very good at killing with either magic (had honed abilities with the former) and can easily control minds and read them. He can shapeshift into a snake. His few weaknesses are his pride and ambition; otherwise, he is cold, calculating, and skilled. He often likes sto stand behind his army until he sees an easy way to his goal, and will gladly have people die for him. He is not even sure how well he would do without magic, though he is somewhat skilled with a sword. (And let's say daggers, for Voldy's sake.)

History: (why they chose their type of Magic, and important or interesting heritage, their basic backgrounds, any important events that had happened in the past, whether or not they were on the original ralthiad and, if thy weren't, where they are from.) Voldemort is an orphan who never knew his parents, and was brought up in a crummy old foster home. He was not from the original Ralthiad, he just appeared randomly and ambushed them with his all-powerfulness and killed everyone because he refused to join him, until a heroic young orphan with a part of this soul came up and made his killingness backfire, so Voldy died. Uhm.

Other: (anything that doesn't fit elsewhere that you would want to note.) Ex.: He commands a battalion of Mages that also think the non-Mages should be obliterated, called Death Eaters.

First Character! W00tness.

Name: Al'gar

Gender: Male.

Rank: General of Her Majesty's Royal Army, Lieutenant Captain of the Empress's Personal Guard, Master of Arms, Guardian of the Royal Palace, Lord of the Forsaken Isle, Protector of Her Majesty's Lands and Defender of the Border. And most Bored RPer To Walk the Earth.

Description: Lean and moderately tall, Al'gar has dark hair, bright eyes and sun-darkened skin. He has thick shoulders and muscled arms, but he still pulls off a thin look. His face is usually grinning or smiling, and even when serious his eyes maintain a twinkle as though laughing at a private joke. He keeps his hair trimmed short, and shaves off any stubble or mustache.

Personality: Al'gar is very laid-back. He is almost always in good spirits (without alcohol) and likes to keep those around him in good spirits as well. He jokes frequently, both witty and sarcastic, and this often makes people doubt his tactical and stragetic ability, and his age doesn't help. This, obviously, is false. Al'gar came from a family of generals and tacticians, and was brought up with the teachings in his childhood. Generally confident and charismatic, Al'gar is a natural leader (a trait that seems a part of his family) and his troops would follow him to Fell itself (:cough cough:). He is devotedly loyal to the Empress of Ralthiad, as any retainer ought to be. In terms of dealing with people, he is usually very understanding and listens carefully. He is not known to be particularly stubborn, but nobody is without flaws. The court isn't really the best place for him. While polite, he still isn't particularly fond of formalities and generally tries to do away with them, sometimes insulting others of high status by mistake. He keeps his word, and once something is resolved he can be set on finishing it to a fault. He doesn't react very well to people trying to take command where the leadership is his (like another general commanding his troops).

Ability: Al'gar, trained from boyhood, excels in the use of daggers and throwing knives, with training in the sword and bow. More importantly, however, his family trained him in the use of Life to enhance his abilities. He uses it to increase his speed, reflexes, and reaction time to make himself a fearsome close-combat warrior, though for a very limited time due to the amount of Life required. His main weaknesses lay in long-range combat; while able to throw knives he is not particularly skilled in magic itself. The few enchantments and spells are all that he really has a grasp of. Also, his techniques usually will not perform well with powerful mages, or very heavily armored foes. He isn't exceptionally smart and sort of lazy about education was during school, but he understands fully the things he has bothered to learn.
The few magic he knows how to use:
-Enchanting weapons with Fire and Energy
-Simplest breaking down of Fire, Water, and Energy
He lacks control of his non-Life magic, so he uses them sparingly.

History: Brought up in the noble family that has provided generals to the rulers of Ralthiad for centuries, Al'gar knows what he's doing and exactly how it's done. He was trained and schooled since boyhood, so despite his age he has sufficient mastery of combat.

Name: Kali Yameien

Gender: Female

Rank: Numenorean E'karasti

Description: Light skin, but not pale. Kali has long, dark hair that shines with a dark copper color in bright light, especially firelight. Her right eye is golden-brown; her left a dark brown that often appears aniridic. Years of practice with weapons have given her a trim but far-from-delicate form.

Personality: Kali dislikes speaking formally, and so only does so with those of the highest status. She is fierce but often funny--silly, even--but hates it when people laugh at something she did accidentally unless she finds it funny herself. She is very smart, but (if you don't mind?) rather likes Al'gar. Kali is also creative, willing to take risks, and quick, but can sometimes be quite tactless.

Abilities: Kali has proficient training in many various types of swords, but her favorite style is with two long-ish curved swords (think samurai blade), one in each hand. She also enjoys "playing" with her knife, and would make quite a good assassin. Kali is also proficient with archery. She knows a few magical cantrips and weak enchantments she uses on her weapons, but in a broad range (e.g. fire, light... radiation...?).

History: Kali worked with her parents in blacksmithing, and one day she decided she wanted to do something with her skills. She made a small, cheap sword for herself and began to practice. After several swords and a couple hundred cuts, her parents began to recognize her potential, and so she began to train as a warrior. It took many years of practice, but now she fights with blades as well--or better--as a noble might dance. She also forges most of her own weapons, sometimes with her dad's help. When she saw him making arrowheads one day, she was inspired to make her own and train with a bow. She now makes her own arrowheads as well, and often spends practice fighting sessions imagining a better blade or arrowhead. Most of her creations have serrated edges or vicious fang-like prominences.

Other: Several years ago, Kali saw someone throwing stones at a young crow. The crow fell and broke its wing, but the person just left it there and fled upon her coming. Feeling sorry for the bird, she took it into her care and helped its wing heal. By the time it was able to safely fly again, it had bonded so well with Kali that it didn't want to leave. Upon learning the crow's gender (female), Kali named her Shira, meaning 'star', for the white highlights on her wings that stand out like stars against the night sky.
This site has some images of crows' wings like Shira's, and some white (but not albino!) American crows. (Warning-a few of you may find some of these pictures rather gruesome; I'll tell you why if you're scared-ish or whatever.) The second is of American crows with white; I think Shira's more like the one in flight. Wow, that rhymed...

Name|| Kae'lassa

Gender|| Female

Rank|| Spirit Kea'datra, accomplished shapeshifter

Description|| Kae'lassa has long, flowing auburn hair that glints dark red in sunlight. Her smooth complexion, light skin, and small, slim build almost make her appear fragile - an extreme illusion. She has soft, large hazel green eyes that always seem to reflect the forest.

Personality|| Kae'lassa is quiet and mostly shy, preferring to keep company with animals other than her own kind. She always seems calm, even in the midst of chaos, and in battle she fights calmly and silently, but as fiercely as a wolf, with a fire in her eyes. She always hangs around the fringes of her group, watching for danger. She doesn't open up the strangers, and makes sparing friends. The few friends she has - especially Naehina, Caz, and Thunder - she trusts with her life.

Abilities|| Kae'lassa knows Spirit and a little life, though she is a full mage in neither. In Life, she's pretty useless with healing major injuries, only good at giving short bursts of energy to animals, people, or plants. In Spirit, she can connect and talk mind-to-mind with animals and other humans, and - regardless of what language they speak - can learn languages in a blink of an eye, with access to a mind of a speaker. She can find certain people and talk with them over great distances with little effort. She cannot do much else with Spirit, and has never tried to force her way into another's mind, though she has a vague idea of how to do it. Her best and most honed skill is shapeshifting - she has a natural talent for turning into all types of animals, from a dormouse to a dragon (although the latter takes much more energy and concentration). She has an affinity with wolves - a pure white wolf is her favorite form. Even without her powers, she has surprising strength and flexibility - as those who have tried to capture her know well - and fights best when those she loves are in danger. She knows the sword moderately well, and the bow and arrow very well. In the most recent battle, she received severe injuries, but she's healing quickly and can travel fine. Kae'lassa is swift and silent, and is one of the best at woodcraft in the whole party.

History|| Both of Kae'lassa's parents were n’tulunes - peasants. Badly oppressed by the current Emperor, Shanemaru, her parents joined up with several other elves - more high-ranking - to try to find ways to throw Shanemaru down. Shanemaru got wind of the plotting with the help of a spy, and as Kae'lassa's parents were low-ranking and trivial, he killed them and burned their e'kel as a warning to the others. Kae'lassa, returning from the forest after hunting and secretly practicing her shapeshifting skills, saw the burning e'kel and attacked Shanemaru viciously, turning into a variety of shapes in her sorrow and rage. Shanemaru easily detained her and knocked her out, and seeing her unusual shapeshifting skills, made her a type of personal slave, forcing her to change into various animals whenever it suited him. He still allowed her to be trained in Spirit magic, and the days when she could be taught were the best experiences of her torturous life. She never spoke much after the day when her parents died, and there always seems to be a shadow of sorrow behind her eyes.
Along with a few other young elves whose parents suffered or were killed under Shanemaru's rule, Kae'lassa rebelled against the Emperor and helped Kshatriya kill him. She has been with the elves the whole journey to Fell, and doesn't plan to leave them anytime soon. She and Aldicaz, a Wind (or Water?) Mage, fell in love during the journey, and she knows something he doesn't...

Other|| Kae'lassa bonded with a young wolf called Thunder, a rowdy and optimistic silver female, and they always stick near each other.

Name: Magadha (I changed Myra's name because I felt like it.)

Gender: Female

Rank: E'karasti of the Aragorn people, a Spirit mage with the narrow ability to talk to avians and shapeshift into them.

Description: She is very short and slender, but in excellent physical condition due to her rank and training. She has (very) short black hair, dark blue eyes, and very fair skin.

Personality: Her personality makes up for her lack of stature. She has a hot temper and is occasionally very blunt, especially when she's annoyed. When she isn't directly part of a conversation or situation (read: isn't forcing people to listen to her), though, she tends to fade into the background and observe without being noticed. She is direct and honest as much as possible and expects others to be the same way; she hates manipulation, hidden motives, and dishonesty, as she is not adept at uncovering them. She sees orders and rules as secondary to what she thinks is right, and she is highly opinionated and not inclined to change her mind on a whim.

Abilities: Magadha is a skilled fighter and has devoted her life to improving that skill. She is especially talented at street fighting and one-on-one combat; her preferred weapons are quarterstaff, knives, and her own hands and feet. She has a natural grasp of avian mindspeech and shapeshifting, possibly because of some avian blood in her background, but she only recently discovered this ability. She makes good use of it, however, and is quickly gaining expertise. She sees magic as merely a tool to be exploited--nothing more, nothing less.

History: She was born a peasant but applied and got into e'karasti training when she was 15; her family gladly gave her up, as it was a chance to rise high in the world. Magadha didn't go with the more "sophisticated and honorable" path, though; instead of learning the sword, jousting, or the rules of chivalry, she applied herself to no-holds-barred street fighting, intending to become a city guard or private bodyguard. She eventually chose the latter, which was ideal because she isn't noticeable but is highly observant and has a good instinct for dangerous situations. She became known as one of the best in her field and worked for nobles and other famous, important, and/or rich (preferably the last) people until the volcano blew up and killed everything.

Other: She has a special friendship with a hawk named Shatterglass. Birds of prey and corvids are the easiest for her to understand and communicate with, as they are the most intelligent, while smaller birds are usually easily distractable, hyperactive, forgetful, and unable to grasp complex concepts. She can shift well into hawk form and is working off of that; different hawk species and other similar birds of prey are the easiest, while a bluebird would be difficult for her to accomplish because of its many structural differences from a hawk.

Name: Naehina

Gender: Female

Rank: Numenorean Fire Kea'datra

Description: Physically, Naehina would be called more agile than either strong or tough. She is slim and rather short, but she makes up for her lack of stature with her strong personality and demanding presence. She could easily stare (aka glare) down a man twice her height and three times her width. Her skin is pale, her eyes are a bright green, and her coppery-red hair is about waist-length.

Personality: Like her magic, Naehina’s personality is very fiery. She has a hot temper, a big mouth, and an unequaled stubbornness, and when she sets her mind to something it is nearly impossible to stop her. She can be completely unreasonable at times, almost childish, and she will only admit that she is wrong when it starts snowing in midsummer. However, she is also a fiercely loyal friend and an extremely competitive opponent. She can be rather bossy, but this usually stems from her more nurturing, maternal side. She is quick of tongue and wit, and she has a good sense of humor (as long as the joke isn’t at her expense).

Abilities: Naehina has always had a phenomenal affinity for Fire, and from an early age she has devoted all of her training to Heat, Light, and plasmatic substances. She also has a mediocre skill in Air, though she only ever uses it in partnership with Fire. Her abilities in Mindspeak are limited to fiery animals such as dragons and phoenixes, which, of course, she doesn’t come across often. Her skill in Shapeshifting is at an absolute minimal.

As for physical fighting, Naehina doesn’t know the first thing about swordplay. She has a rather decent aim with a bow and arrow, but her preferred weapon (aside from fireballs) is the blowdart. She brews her own poisons, which she always carries with her: One that merely sends her victim into a deep sleep, and another that is deadly. When working long-range, sometimes she will also dip her arrowheads. However, she avoids using either poison as much as she possibly can and kills only when absolutely necessary.

Naehina also fire-dances in her limited free time, and she will occasionally bring this skill onto the battlefield. It is especially useful when her opponent is a lover of Darkness.

History: Naehina’s father was murdered when she was a young teenager, and as a result, her mother became clumsy with her magic and ended up incinerating herself soon afterwards. It wasn’t until recently that she found out she had a half-sister, Kiladra. Apparently her father had been married before he met Naehina’s mother, but he left his wife and his unborn daughter for her when he found out that she, too, was soon to give birth. It was the vengeful brother of his first wife who eventually killed him.

Naehina was only reunited with Kiladra for a short time, for her sister gave up her life in the War against Emperor Shanemaru and his army of Undead minions. She lost several other close friends at that time as well, so it is understandable that she has been rather out of sorts ever since.

Other: (Still deciding about her bond.)

Name|| Talynx (Taia) Riversong

Gender|| Female

Rank|| Scout of the Halcyon Empire, knows Water Magic and a little Air

Description|| Taia is slightly taller than the average Winged, and more lean than slim with a wiry frame honed by years of flying and fighting. She has long, sun-gold curls that frame high cheekbones and often fall over her misleadingly large sky-blue eyes. Her wings are rather narrow and thin, which makes it easier to dive and maneuver in water. Her wing feathers are the precise shade of her hair - obviously, the wingtips are bleached pure white. Both her hair and her feathers are are soft, and glossy - entirely waterproof from years spent in the water.

Personality|| Observant and alert despite her unassuming presence, Taia's rather good at gathering information from people and noticing interesting things. A little quiet, she doesn't like dealing with people too much, but she loves her scouting profession, especially when it includes water. Though she can understand people well, tends not to be sympathetic. She also has trouble realting to girls and spending much time with them. She has a tough, impassive exterior and tries hard not to show emotion. Most Winged hate getting wet, so she and her powers sometimes prove invaluable.
Unknown to her superiors, she's always had a fondness for forbidden things, such as magic. In battle, she's fierce and strategic, knowing exactly how to dart in and strike with hardly any risk of getting hurt. As she's grown up in the barracks with only her brothers left to her, she's always been underestimated and only judged by her appearance.
Taia has a few friends, whom she has chosen wisely and trusts, at least, more than most people. She trusts no one but herself with her own life.

Abilities|| Taia is stealthy and is good at woodcraft - swift both in the air and the forest, and swims like she was born in water. She knows a lot of self-taught Water Magic, and feels more at home in water than the air; she knows exactly how to manipulate the currents and flows to her advantage. She uses her wings to steer and propel herself in the water, or catch the current like a sail; she can use Water magic to actually breathe in the water, eliminating the need to surface. She wears light, waterproof non-baggy clothes in order to help reduce drag.
Like all scouts, Taia is moderately skilled at the bow and arrow, but she's very learned and deadly with throwing daggers, her favorite weapon.

History|| Taia's mother died in childbirth, leaving Talynx alone with only her two brothers to raise her. They didn't exactly raise Taia as the lady her mother wished, but treated her just like another brother, and she was quickly accepted into the military camp her brothers spent nearly all their lives in. When she was a toddler, the other soldiers and warriors played with and spoiled her - when she began to grow older, they mostly distanced themselves for fear of impropriety. She had a lot of time on her own, and took refuge in the nearby river whenever she felt lonely or bored - water had fascinated her all her life, and she quickly began to learn its ways.

Other|| Um.. dunno, yet.

Image|| i'll find one someday..

Name: Rakeri

Gender: Male

Rank: Numenorean Water Kea'datra

Description: deep blue eyes, dark brown hair that falls to the upper back (usually held back with a hadori-like-thing), average height. He is not the strongest of the Water mages, but makes up for his loss of strength in precision and ability. He is very clever and always keeps an notebook handy to record interesting things he thinks of. Most of his free-time is spend developing new ways to use magic.

Personality: He will never jump into any situation head-first, unless someone is in danger. He believes that all things have a right to live any kind of life they want to, so long as they do not take advantage of other people. He does not believe in "good" or "evil." His passions are Magic and serving his Empress.

Abilities: He can do almost anything he thinks of. Although he hardly ever duels, he is actually quite good at it. His diversity and adaptability put him ahead of other Mages with similar strengths. However, when it comes to physical combat, he is helpless. Rakeri also has a limited ability with Spirit.

Name: Esel

Gender: Female

Rank: Numenorean Energy Kea'datra

Description: She has long, glossy blonde hair that falls to her upper back. She is an excellent runner due to her long legs. Her smooth face is very attractive, and she loves to flirt with any man that happens to be nearby.

Personality: She dresses very femininely, but acts more like a man. She usually wears fairly exposing clothes -- even in the dead of winter -- Esel loves a good fight, with magic or not. She has never studied magic formally, and taught herself. She only knows flashy stuff and making weapons. She can’t do many practical things, but doesn't care much. She has a very bland house, as she spends most of her time outside, practicing magic. She always is using magic, and tries to learn as many things as possible, but refuses to be taught. She is one of the most powerful of the Energy mages, and also one of the best fighters -- and knows it. This knowledge has kind of gone to her head, and she's rather conceited. Her pride and scorn for non-Energy mages is rather apparent, and she doesn't believe anyone could be better than her. Scornful, proud, and arrogant, she can overestimate herself in battle and make a misstep. She also is rather vain about her appearance, and is quick to take offense. Her temper is like quicksilver, and she's is icy-cold disdain to anyone who challenges her.

Abilities: Esel knows flashy, impressive looking things and can make tons of different weapons. She can’t do many practical things, though, probably because of her self-guided approach to magic. Her favorite things are making different colored explosions in the sky (fireworks), shooting bolts of lightning from her hands, and starting fires. She know a very small amount of Fire Magic, but can’t do anything with it than control the way the fire burns, if Energy started or is fueling the fire that she’s controlling. She is also skilled in acrobatics, Tae Kwon Do, tumbling, and fist-fighting.

History: Her sisters have always envied her beauty and her skill with Magic. Esel, eventually becoming fed-up with their continual jealous mocking, ran away from her home and sought refuge at the government. She had never known a father, and her mother was murdered shortly before she ran away. She was originally an excellent scout and tracker for the government before revealing that she could use magic.

Name: Sayurr

Gender: Female

Rank: Flightless of the Halcyonidae

Description: Sayurr has the standard tawny-brown hair and eyes of the Winged, and wings of a similar color but mottled with a bit of white. However, her right wing is deformed--she has been a Flightless since birth. It is not a major deformation, as they are normal other than the fact that the wing's shape at its tip is awkward and her primary feathers only a few inches long. Even still, she takes care to brush her hair and preen her wings, for while she cannot fly or take off with them, they are still big and useful enough for her to glide or slow a fall. Sayurr is more on the short end of average.

Personality: While generally calm, Sayurr's position in society and treatment by others of a formal rank has scarred her emotionally, and so she often feels depressed or irritable. However, she is also determined, for she joined the Flightless rebellion and wants little more than to have a proper place in Winged society. Being with the other strong members of the rebellion has made Sayurr emotionally stronger, and she can more easily control her feelings and feels far less saturnine than she used to. Sayurr is not particularly good at anything, but her determination and perseverance drive her to practice many arts, be they creative or belligerent.

Abilities: Sayurr doesn't have many special abilities, but she is a good leader. (Ideas, or is this good?)

History: Sayurr's mother (Iani?) was originally a respected Goldwing, but was found ripping others off, and so she was marked a Blackwing. Iani became pregnant with Sayurr after joining the Flightless rebellion, and so she learned of their issues and their cause. When Sayurr was finally born, even though she was deformed and Iani knew she would be marked as one of the lowest kinds of Flightless, she didn't kill her as a normal Winged would have. Iani also knew that because of her status in the rebellion, if Sayurr joined it, she would have a good chance of getting a high rank as well.
Through training with the rebellion, Sayurr became a strong leader, and she is now the current leader of the rebellion. (Vengerid! Hahaha! :rolleyes: )

Other: Should there be anything else?

This person isn't a leader of the rebellion (though he would have good cause to.) I doubt he'll know about it until someone else approaches him.

Name|| Kay (Kaihtaar, meaning 'outcast' or 'shunned')

Gender|| Male

Rank|| Flightless of the Halcyonidae

Description|| No taller than any seventeen-year-old, Kay has fierce, brilliant green eyes overshadowed by jet-black hair. The truly startling things about his appearance (for the Winged) are neither his glittering, haunted eyes and blank, vague face, nor his constantly tense, alert frame; two cruel scars slice down his shoulders and part of his back, marking the place where he once had glossy, raven-dark wings. Despite the loss of his wings -- or perhaps because of it -- he moves with a quick-footed, wiry grace that none of the Winged could ever achieve.

Personality|| Stubborn, fierce, and opinionated, Kay has a fighting spirit, but is surprisingly quiet for what has happened to him. His voice is soft, smooth, and certain, only raising it when he's very heated or insistent. Though you would expect him to stand out among the Halcyonidaen streets, he's surprisingly good at melding into the shadows and staying completely unnoticed -- a good quality to ward off derisive, cruel Winged his own age, and to support some of his hobbies, such as pickpocketing and cutting purses. Though normally quiet, sensible, and methodical, when roused Kay can be quite reckless. Solitary and with few friends, even among the Flightless, Kay only talks to those he thoroughly trusts.

Abilities|| In spite of his normally calm demeanor, Kay often finds himself in street fights. Over the years, he's taught himself (and learned from his opponents) the entire skill; whenever he sees a successful move, he quickly memorizes it. Because of this, he's just about undefeatable, though he never goes searching for fights. Patrols of Redwings are the city guard and they will ruthlessly break up any fights, so he's practiced at striking quickly and surely, then disappearing among the alleys. In more serious fights, he puts to use his skill with daggers -- he always has a few tricks up his sleeve. Kay also learned a marginal amount of fire without realizing it, though only really enough to start a small campfire and keep it going. He thinks it's just because he can find the right kindling. He has a deep hatred of Violetwings, and he doesn't like the rest of the Winged that much either.

History|| Kay has a dark past. Son of a minor Violetwing, who raised Kay alone without support from a father, he lived an innocent youth. When he turned fifteen, he got lost from her mother while in the Main city and followed a couple other Violetwings into a building, hoping to ask for help. He was alone and wandering in the house, trying to find other Winged; he curiously picked up up an oddly-shaped pendant to examine it when a large, imposing Violetwing walked in.
The Violetwing saw him with the amulet and he colored with rage. The man grabbed Kay and yelled at him, calling him a thief; Kay blinked and just said he was curious, he wasn't a thief, he was trying to get home to his mother. The man wrenched the amulet from his grip and soundly threw him out, saying that he'll keep and eye on him for any further crimes.
Kay guessed that wasn't the end of it. The man and the boy now had a deep hatred of each other. He quickly found his way home with the help of a kind Goldwing.
His mother had been getting increasingly quiet, and Kay felt like she was frightend for some reason. He asked her if she was all right, and she began, 'Dear, I shouldn't tell you.. it's about a certain Violet-"
She clamped her mouth shut as the imposing Violetwing man -- whom Kay once had his encounter with -- walked into the house without even knocking. Their house was on a secluded part of the mountain, on the fringes of the city; mother liked to garden, and fresh air.
"Beat it, kid," he snarled at Kay, and with a last glance at his mother -- who looked utterly terrified now -- Kay left and went outside.
He couldn't stand it. He had a curious nature, and her mother's wide, frightened eyes made him uneasy. Within a minute, he walked back inside and froze with shock.
His mother was lying on the floor, her blue eyes glazed and her throat cut. The man was unhurriedly cleaning his sword. He caught sight of Kay and grinned a wicked smile. "Oh, hello. She knew too much, you see."
"They'll make you a Blackwing for this," Kay said hoarsely. His mother was gone. The only person he had ever loved. Killed by this man. He suddenly felt a deadly rage. He wanted this man to die.
"What? No, why would they do that? Especially as it wasn't I who killed her. It was you, in a mad, psychopathic rage." He grinned lazily, sheathed his sword. "Everyone will suspect you. You're too easy to blame.. you stole the amulet today and hid it. Tell them that, and no one will think I still have it. Your poor, sweet mother questioned you about it, tried to make you give it back, and you killed her. Tell the Redwings that, and they might not kill you. With luck, you'll also be blamed for the murder of that annoying Violetwing at my house."
Kay stood there with shock. "You can't frame me," he said weakly. "I have the truth. The priests know magic, they can see into people's minds."
The man's grin widened. "Oh, you're a sharp one. But the priests needn't be involved. After all, the proof is against you, and unfortunately for you, the words of such a high-class Violetwing such as myself are much more influential than a crazy teen psychopath." The man tapped a strange bracelet on his arm twice, then twisted it. "Brings the City Redwings, you see. Hopefully, they'll just dewing you, few questions asked."
That was when Kay screamed. He was against the wall, the man's sword was out, and inch away from his chest, to prevent him from escaping. Almost immediately, five Redwings burst into the room.
Kay's mouth closed up with terror as they surrounded him, and the Violetwing man satisfactorily sheathed his sword and related his twisted version of what had happened.
"No! I didn't do it! He's lying, he killed her himself!" The words burst out his mouth desperately, tears beginning to run down his face.
The leader of the Redwings leered at him. "You know that's not true, little boy. Enjoy your wings while you still can. For two first-class murders and an important artifact stolen.. you won't be having them for long."
A sharp pain at the side of his head, and blackness.
(Sorry for the longness of it. And the non-descriptioness of it too. I figured it was the best way to relay what happened to him.

Other|| That's pretty much it. He hangs out with this black alley cat (Kay named him Shade) and the lead each other to edible food. He'll care for the cat if it's hurt, and the cat has a good sense of danger (and of where it can find food.)

Name: Savtyrr Hightalon

Gender: Male

Rank: Violetwing , advanced to Triumvirate

Description: Old, perhaps in his early forties, but far from frail. He has a strong and confident stature, with dark eyes and brown hair matching the light shade of his wings. He face is hard and his features are sharp. His face is usually calm and hardly ever shows emotion. He walks with a calm, strolling gait as though he owns the Empire (which in fact, he nearly does). He is always calm and in control of his body, conforming easily to rigid codes of conduct.

Personality: Power has corrupted him. Once he had a taste of it, he never let his quest for it waver. He has developed many masks, personalities, and false identities, making it difficult to map his true personality. He is always thinking of ways to manipulate and use people, no matter who they may be. He has a habit of overlooking emotion and feelings, which can sometimes cause trouble for him. He doesn't take well to anyone who shows the slightest ability to be like him, or anyone who commands the respect of people he doesn't.

Abilities: He has a great ability to think logically and is, in fact, amazingly intelligent. However, this has imbalanced his left and right brains, so that he has about no emotional ability to speak of. He has no magical ability, but he's trained in pretty advanced sword and hand-to-hand combat.

History: As a child, and young adult, Savtyrr was often neglected. This is main source of his great desire, which now approached need, to be accepted and respected. His parents, both Goldwings, were away often and didn't care too much about him. His accomplishments, which everyone recognized him for but his parents, ranged from small community leadership to, eventually, the Triumvirate.

Name: Cairbre

Gender: Male

Rank: Scout of the Halcyonidae, knows Earth magic and shapeshifting of/into inanimate objects

Description: Cairbre has long, light, slightly reddish-blond hair (okay, like mine but lighter) and pale skin. His wings are pure white with black banding that fades towards the ends. He has a very muscular, stocky frame and isn't the best runner, but he can fly for ages without getting tired and usually comes out the winner in fights, although he isn't especially agile. Even though he has a stereotypically masculine body type, his general appearance is fairly androgynous.

Personality: He likes to know he's doing the right thing and is approved of, perhaps too much. He tends to take orders without questioning them unless they're obviously stupid in some way, and he highly respects authority. He hates breaking rules and also hates other people who break them. The exception to this is his use of magic, which he does as a sort of hobby, especially when he's bored on patrol. He isn't especially comfortable taking charge and always worries about making the wrong decision and failing or having failure be his fault, which is why he likes having others make the decisions for him. He is very methodical and responsible, however, and resists changes that don't have a good reason behind them. Because of that, and his very cool head, he is a good person to have around to keep wild ideas or plans reasonable and in check, but he isn't always open to new or radical ideas. He is also a very fair person and is good at mediating disputes without offending people. Well, he's just generally good at not offending people, I guess. He doesn't hesitate to state his opinions, though, and definitely isn't shy, although somewhat introverted. He would be a diplomat if not a scout.

Abilities: Earth magic, as stated before. Once the elfy people introduce shapeshifting, he'll also pick up how to shift into inanimate objects and make them shift into other things (lead into gold! wheee!). He is a good fighter, especially with heavy weapons like quarterstaff (his preferred weapon) and axes, since he is strong enough to wield large and heavy Deadly Objects with little difficulty.

History: He was born to well-off Goldwing parents and originally trained to be a Redwing, but his instructors recommended him to be a scout because of his stamina and good memory. Yup. Pretty boring, really. Like I said, he respects authority, and so while he doesn't totally hate the Flightless, he is uncomfortable around them and will take some convincing to join the rebellion. First he needs to learn to think for himself and accept the fact that he can't please everyone.

Wow, I just realized that he's pretty much Maga's antithesis...

Name: Mirina (Miri)

Gender: Female

Rank: Greenwing of the Halcyonidae

Description: Miri is very fair for someone who spends so much time in the sun. Her blonde hair has been bleached almost white, providing contrast to her dark gray eyes. Her wings are also a very light shade of yellowish-brown. After so many years of working in the fields and and handling animals, she has become very strong for a girl her size and age. She is still very young, still more of a girl than a woman. If she were human, she would be just barely out of her teen years.

Personality: Miri is very timid and shy, but at the same time, sympathetic and nurturing. She loves animals and young children. Her elders usually approve of her for being so polite and obedient, but people her own age tend to avoid her because she is so quiet and "odd." The fact that her father is a Bluewing also distances her.

Abilities: Miri has only just begun to learn magic, and as of yet, she does not have a proper instructor. Her talents mainly lie in Life, and she is especially good at Healing. She also has a touch of Spirit, and she can use Mindspeech with animals and people she knows well. Her skills in weaponry are sadly limited, though she is very proficient with a sling. In general, she can quickly learn anything she puts her mind to. Lack of training is her main issue.

History: Miri was raised by her mother, a Greenwing. She didn't see her father very often, for he was a hard-working Bluewing. Her mother was the one who secretly taught her some magic, which she had picked up by watching her husband, even though he strictly forbade it. Though her mother mostly knew weather-related magic, Miri began to experiment and soon discovered the art of Healing, which came much more naturally to her. She also realized that she could mentally communicate with animals if she knew them well enough. However, her father eventually found out what she was learning from her mother, and he sentenced the latter to several years as a clipped Blackwing for disobeying both him and the law. He dismissed Miri as too young to know better, but when he took her in, he left her under strict supervision. She was no longer allowed near animals, and was rarely even let outside. She is currently trying to plan her escape, and she wants to find someone to teach her more about magic (cough-Kae'lassa-cough).

Other: An emu familiar . . . ? :D
