4 Wheeling Up The Ranks Group: Administrator Posts: 3,304 Member No.: 1 Joined: 3-November 04	Hello folks, in the recient week or better we have had a new registration a day, posting porn and links that could hold bugs. I have disabled user verification so I will manualy have to approve new members, as these new people always have a small (a) at the end of their sign in and emails from .ru addys they are easy to identify. this will no longer happen since the change in the board config, sorry if you stumbleled upon one of these posts I have checked in daily to delete them and ban the new users abusing our board, this will no longer happen with the changes I have implemented Glenn -------------------- Check Our Climb To The Top 100 Teams Our Climb Through The Ranks

Are you up to it? Don't go over doing things! Thank goodness that I am not quite as foolish as I once was, or I might have actually clicked on one or two of those links. I however saw what it was and knew that there was no telling what you might get besides porn, so steered clear of it. Hope you are feeling well and the treatments are coming along good. Thanks Mike, You need do nothing, I do check my email daily even if I don't have energy to stop in and chat at present. I recieve a notice when a new user registers, It's a simple process to identify these new spamers and or a potential new member of the forum.

I will see if there is a way to have you recieve the new user verification email as well, but I think not. It hits my primary email I will evaluate the origin and just do a quick approval and or not based on the origin of the IP addy as well as user sign in. I could even take this a step further as I get their email addy and drop a quick note before aproving the account to see the interest in our forum.

Side note since I have changed this config, one user / spammer signed up and could not post the board, since they have seemed to move on as I have had no further users sign up from those specific addys, . I believe we are good to go for the moment !
