Got a new 25" flat screen i-inc monitor. With XP I have my resolution set at 1920x 1080 which is perfect. However Vista's max is 1600x900
ALSO! Loaded Linux on a dual boot, everything appears fine until it goes to final start up then black screen, can't find video frequency

Maybe because it doesn't recognize that monitor. Are there drivers for that monitor? My Dell 24" monitor is running at 1920 x 1200 resolution in Vista 64-bit.

How are you connecting the monitor to the computer? HDMI, DVI, VGA, or a combination of those?

It came with Vista drivers and I loaded them.
Hooked up into a KVM switch so VGA. I could hook up HDMI to the KVM, would that make a difference? I'll check.

With Vista I believe you need to connect it with an HDMI to DVI Cable.

If you still have issues, I would try taking out the KVM to see if it works at high resolution that way.

Just did and it does, just like XP only without all the trouble. It does look pretty though.

If I was to get another HDMI to DVI cable how would the TV work? I can't go back now (no KVM) which means when I finish getting the XP ready I'll have to stick it in the living room. No place for a monitor there though.

I'm not really sure what your asking. If your talking about hooking up 2 computers directly to the TV with 2 different HDMI/DVI cables instead of using the KVM. In that case you use the TV menu to switch inputs. Thats what I do with my machines. No KVM, just 2 computers per monitor using seperate inputs on the monitor.

So, what's the question? Will it work? I think it should. I also think Murphy's law should be changed to Mgrist's law.

If you need a cable, MonoPrice is the place to get it.

The last time I ordered from MonoPrice I got a dozen different cables. So, the shipping cost per cable wasn't much. Plus there's no sales tax.

Let me know how it goes at Walmart. I went to their online site and it looks like all the HDMI/DVI cables have to be ordered online because they're not stocked in the stores.

That cable from MonoPrice for $12 doesn't look that bad. :P

Edit: As cheap as you are, I'm surprised you didn't go for the cable at MonoPrice that only costs $2.82.
