Jaunty Jackalope is available for download.

Hey Rob, you can put Ubuntu Netbook Remix on a USB stick and try it out on your HP netbook. You know you want to get rid of WinXP. ;)

I gave the hp mini 1010nr away. Some woman that I new kept posting up on facebook about wanting to have a computer. So, since I did not use it as much as darth anyway, I called her up and then brought it right over. It is actually perfect for her, because she has very small hands (actually, everything about her is small).

She had a computer to use, but none that she owned, so now she is hooked up, and she likes it a lot. And, no, she would not give me any of that sweet stuff, before anyone asks.

I'm downloading now.
I want Ubuntu on something but I'm so tied up in producing FAH points right now that it's all windows on my machines. They are producing about 10,000 PPD each. What's the closest I can get with Ubuntu??

What CPU are you talking about? My Q6600@3.0GHz machine gets 5,400 PPD running one SMP client. My Q6600@2.4GHz machine gets 4,400 PPD running one SMP client.

It will be one of the Q6600's
I know you posted the link somewhere, I couldn't find it last night about running GPU's in Linux? Will I destroy a computer trying to get it running?

You never did say if your talking abot VMs, or a native install. All my machines are dual boot and have VMs set up.

I want straight up Ubuntu, so a native install. VM in Lenox would be fine

So what's the verdict? What kind of points can I get from a quad running Linux.
Can you run GPU's in a VM?
I may just have to take the cut in points, but as I type that I think of my climb to stardom.

More than Windows.

Not a Windows VM. You can run the GPU client in Linux, no VMs needed. I'm not saying it's easy.
