I'm thinking about running a server again. The last time I gave up because it almost never showed up in the list (because of the wireless stuff). I've been having other internet problems too and there are a couple of things I'm gonna try.

The first one: no more wireless stuff. I've got a cable coming from downstairs (the internet+phone modem) all the way here. I just have to make a hole in the wall (oh dear God!) and then bingo!

If my internet works like it should, then I'm done. If not, I'm gonna have to do what my father did to make his internet ok: Ask KPN for a Speedtouch modem to replace my Siemens one (Siemens sucks with this).

If it works I'm gonna try to start a server. Our internet speed is also twice as fast now because we pay 5 cents (or 5 euros) a month more!

Man o man! Finally have a cable now instead of a wireless connection. But it was damn hard.
First I had to lay the cable from downstairs to my room, drilling holes in the process.
Then I still had to make an UTP cable out of it, with the plugs or whatever. But I didn't have the tool or the parts. Finally got them, turns out the tool doesn't work!!! A few days later I finally got what I needed... CABLE DOESN'T WORK!
So I thought I'd reset the router. So I did, and then the phone and internet didn't work!!! AAAH! We've been without phone for a day, when I finally found out about a hard reset. So I did it, and yes phone/internet was back. Cable STILL didn't work!
Turns out I did something wrong with the wires of the cable...

So now it works! *sigh* And my internet finally works like it should.

So I'm gonna try running an AVP2 server on saturdays soon.

Allright, I'm going to do a test-run this Friday (if I don't forget it). So everybody's welcome. Basicly, the only thing I want is someone else besides me to join the server for a few seconds, so I know it works or not. If it works, I'm going to try running the server every Friday and Saturday.

It'll be named: =EC= Extinction TDM
and it's Team Deathmatch
Don't know if my connection is fast enough, but I think it'll work.

Test run is this Friday from 18.00 till 24.00 (benelux time). I probably won't be there myself

the master server was thrown out of the window I heard, how to login now these days?

Might give it a try soon.
