Though, to be fair, these days most good fantasy novels come equipped with maps. Hell, loads of books are accompanied with maps in order to be able to slide easily through what would otherwise be a difficult description.

After thinking about it - any book that deals with a world other than our own (and as we know it) should have a map. This is not just limited to fantasy, but fictional books referring to places on the Earth that may have existed a long time ago, or don't actually exist at all.

I'm all for the idea. I agree, it's very convenient to have a map of some kind there to support you. I'm reading this book on Atlantis and Lemuria (Don't ask, I'm just one of those guys... 2012, Atlantis, 5th Dimension, Energy, whatever baby) and it can get really confusing when they throw around geographical locations. But they included several maps at the back with a lot of indications and a very detailed legend.

Oh yea. As for the maps.... I'll work on one right away.
