This is my last post here..I have been a member here for a long time. From 16 January 2011 to 31 July 2012..after 1 year 6 months I realise it is time to move on.
No one here is responsible for my decidsion. I will tell you the reason : I can't anymore! I can't make new friends, my mind is on sc's! I can't enjoy other stuff I used to, my mind is on sc's! I neglect my family, myself and real life friends..my mind is with sc's! Last weekend I have to admit to my sister the only reason I did not talk to her the whole weekend is I was reading stuff on the 110 club..the whole weekend I do not sleep enough, I read about sc's over and over! Hope you guys sEe the picture! It was nice but it needs to stop now..Thanks everyone for everything. Will I ever return? Don't expect me any soon again.. Regards Pieter Nel. Former 110-club member from 16 January 2011-31 July 2012. (But leave now) |

Hi Pieter,
You have been a valuable member here since I've joined on 27 August 2011. I understand that sometimes you get addicted to something and can't stop. Family and friends are much much more important than other hobbies such as this. We need to focus on our life, and not let the Internet intercept it too much that it affects our daily life. You can come back anytime, I think all you need to learn is restraint. Restraining yourself from doing something is difficult, I sometimes have that problem with certain things, but I think everybody learns, and you too! Goodbye. Come back anytime. I would always welcome you, and I believe, the 110 Club too. Regards, Donovan |

It seems a few people are leaving nowadays..
In my opinion it's important not to "live only for sc's" but have a good balance between sc's and other stuff in live. If it stays a hobby and if we have enough time for other things in life there shouldn't be any problem.. But if you can't keep this balance it's better for you to stop and take a break. Maybe some day you can come back and be able to have this balance, if you are still interested in sc's;) I wish you good luck on your way! |

You were a pleasure and honor here Pieter! You'll be missed very much.
I myself have not been around myself because of some nervous breakdowns and personal issues. Thanks to Ben, Robert, CT, Baxi and Chris Amos running the forum extremely well I have stayed! BTW, Where is Robert? He hasn't been on since July 7th. Anyways, best of luck to you Pieter with life! |

I'm sorry that you're leaving. I must admit that I decided a long time ago that I would restrict my interest in supercentenarians to the weekend, otherwise I would get very little else done.

Keith, As I'm sure others are wondering the same thing, I'll update everyone. Robert's computer crashed so he has to rely on an old laptop to do his stuff -- but it did not have saved access to forums. He will be back online soon. Cheers, * CalvinTy |

Pieter, I am sorry you are having a struggle at this time. Like others have said, it's important to have a balance of family, work/school, friends, and hobbies. The most important thing out of all this is that you saw that you have a problem, not having *others to tell you* that. Glad you know what you need to do -- hope you will be able to come back soon when you have found your balance. * CalvinTy |

Sad to see you have left but I understand where you are coming from.
I have been taking longer and longer breaks lately as I need to find other things to focus on. It can be very energy draining to focus too much on one thing, and you can forget to live, so I can relate to how you feel. I hope you can find a better balance in your life now you are away from the situation. Maybe you can come back one day when things look more positive and you can find a more healthy balance. P.S You have been a very important member to the club over the last year and you will be missed. ***Daniel*** |

I'll miss you Pieter. You were a great addition to our team. If you'll ever want to come back, we'll be here waiting for you.
And I hope that you'll be able to handle your time better in the future. Personally, since I've been unable to post for a month (and also had a 3.5 month suspension in Jan.-Apr. 2012), I've learned not to spend too much time here at the 110 Club. |
