I am using national borders based on what they were at the time of the individuals' birth. For Germany, I included Augusta Holtz as her case is almost certainly true:
Top 5: Russian Empire: 100% (5/5) Germany: 80% (4/5) Denmark: 60% (3/5) Belgium: 40% (2/5) Italy: 40% (2/5) Norway: 40% (2/5)--would have been 60% (3/5) had Herman Smith-Johannsen died in Canada as he planned to Canada: 20% (1/5) United Kingdom: 20% (1/5) Australia: 0% (0/5) Austria: 0% (0/5) Finland: 0% (0/5) France: 0% (0/5) Japan: 0% (0/5) Netherlands: 0% (0/5) Portugal: 0% (0/5) Spain: 0% (0/5) Sweden: 0% (0/5) United States: 0% (0/5) Top 10: Germany: 60% (6/10) Norway: 40% (4/10)--would have been 50% (5/10) had Herman Smith-Johannsen died in Canada as he planned to Belgium: 20% (2/10) Canada: 20% (2/10) Italy: 20% (2/10) United Kingdom: 20% (2/10) Australia: 0% (0/10) France: 0% (0/10) Japan: 0% (0/10) Netherlands: 0% (0/10) Spain: 0% (0/10) Sweden: 0% (0/10) United States: 0% (0/10) If anyone sees any errors, please let me know.
