Carrie White, Kamato Hongo, Matthew Beard, Anitica Butariu. These people are all disputed. Question: How did they get verified in the first place? I think White and Izumi both had other evidence to show that the certificte is not his, there are other people with the same name etc. If that is so, how did they get verified? One question: If Calment had a older sister with the birthdate of 1875, will we consider her as disputed as she might have used her sister's birthdate, and she might have been born in 1888? (You may think with a younger sister born 13 years later is unlikely but it is possible, Besse has a younger sister born in 1909) That will make Calment only 109 at her death. If that is so, do you think Calment on the page will be orange, meaning disputed?
Why will people use their older sibling's birthdate? Rather strange to use another person's birthdate, eh? And so why are we feeling suspicious that they use an older birthdate? Say Besse is born in 1896, how does it get verified? With a younger sister born in 1909, why don't we feel that she might be that child born in 1909 and use the 1896 older sibling's birthdate?
Just curious. wink.gif

White probably got verified since her documents from her admission to the mental hospital indicated a birthdate of 1874. Hongo was verified due to some documents that apparently inflated her age. Izumi got verified due to being in the Japanese census of 1871. Beard got validated due to having Census matches (which were later disputed). That Romanian SC (Butariu (sp?)) allegedly got verified by the Romanian authorities, and I think that GWR accepted her claim without being given any physical proof.

Sometimes I have wondered the same thing but, in regard to Jeanne Calment, her life has been well documented. If you want the details, read the following:
