Is it? The caption (
here) says, "Mrs. Besse Cooper in August 2002 on the occasion of her 100th birthday," but she turned 106 in 2002, so that doesn't make much sense.

Avolk, there's no need to quote the entire post if you're only going to refer to one of them. Remove the unwanted pictures, or comment using the reply button instead of the quote button. OK? :)

That's probably right. The article also spells Sidney Cooper's name wrong, so somebody obviously hasn't done their homework.

I was aware of the typo in that Besse Cooper photo (100th in 1996 or 106th in 2002?). I can contact the newspaper to find out the exact info, but want to make sure that nobody haven't done that yet?
If nobody have done that yet, I'll do that & get the answer on whether it is her 100th or the one in 2002.

FYI, I didn't contact the newspaper, though I thought about it. I don't think the author would mind if you pointed out the error; she seems pretty open to comments.

Wherever the photos came from, well done to all... It's great to see the pictures from Besse's youth. I doubt that young woman ever dreamed that one day she might be approaching her 116th birthday!

I am surprised by the new pics of Besse Cooper. She is still physically "O.K."! I think that Elizabeth Bolden's milestone isn't to be excluded... What are your thoughts now?

The above photos aren't new. They were taken on 30 March 2011 when Besse was 114.
