http://pewforum.org/A-Religious-Portrait-o...-Americans.aspxAccording to the poll above, 78% of African-Americans are Protestants. Thus Lucy Hannah was likely a Protestant.
And as for my statistics, they are probably correct, but there's no 100% guarantee. I made an educated guess about supercentenarians' religions by looking at what countries they came from and what countries they lived in. Very few supercentenarians are open about their religions, so my data might not be 100% correct. For instance, since Jeanne Calment lived in France, an overwhelmingly Catholic country, she was very likely Catholic. However, I am not 100% sure because she never told the media what her religion actually was.

I replaced Rosa Rein with Adelheid Kirschbaum as the oldest verified Jewish female SC ever.
Futurist - September 18, 2011 04:11 AM (GMT)
Was there ever a verified male Jewish SC?
clark kent - September 18, 2011 01:48 PM (GMT)
Muslims and Hindus mostly come from Asia like India or Indonesia. so even if there are SCs with that religion they might not get verified in the near future. unless someone born in Europe or USA converted to those religions and became an SC.
Roy Neuberger who died at age 107 was born into a Jewish family but considered himself as an atheist i think.

As we can read in many articles, Jeanne Calment was a devout catholic. Look for example:

What was Lillian Joelson's (1896-2007) religion? Jewish?

The quote could be interpreted as showing some element of doubt.

Thanks. I added him. Do you know who the oldest female Jevovah's Witness ever was?

In the "Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses"s 2011" (page 69) you can read that "Elin, the oldest publisher in Sweden, is 110 years of age". In the footnote on the same page is written that Elin died as this yearbook was being finalized.

I suppose this supercentenarian could be Elin Karlsson (1900-2010). So she has (probably) been the oldest Jehovah's Witness ever.

Updated now that the Jewish female and male records have (probably) been surpassed. :D
Mithridate - January 4, 2013 11:13 PM (GMT)
Shouldn't the oldest Jewish female be Evelyn Kozak instead of Adelheid Kirschbaum?

Yes, that's a typo on my part. I previously fixed the age but not the name. :P

Very interesting.
There must be some Muslim and Hindu SCs but for as long as we are unable to validate subcontinental asians they are unlikely to show up in the official data.
Mithridate - January 4, 2013 11:31 PM (GMT)
Many SC's were probably baptized, for example, Christians, but decided to become Atheists or Agnostics. I think that the record for these last two options is high (~113 for female).

Possibly, but we need some sources.
@Zebra: You're probably right. I think that eventually we'll see verified Muslim and Hindu SCs, though, probably in several decades.

Irénise Moulonguet (recently verified) is the oldest Jehovah's Witness.
