Synopsis/Summary/Notes
The Second "Battle" for Tymiar pass is the name given to a military situation which involved a couple of serious engagements, numerous skirmishes, and an elaborate tactical maneuver which lasted for nearly half a decade. When Emperor Malkau II of the Praklaetos Empire first tried to follow in his ancestor's footsteps and conquer Iclese Lands, he began his campaign in the same way as his great-great-grandfather, Markin IV. Massing a huge army, consisting mainly of the highly elite Praklaetos infantry, he ordered his force into Tymiar Pass, confident of breaking through. Though unprepared, and outnumbered even more severely than at The First Battle for Tymiar Pass, an Icelse army under Legion Master Vul'hlok marched to confront them. The initial few days of fighting were fierce, and the Iclese were driven back as they had been before. However, this time the power of the Sahamaki was able to bail the Iclese forces out. At their whim, a great avalanche collapsed into the pass, blocking off the two forces for several days, and giving the Iclese time to recuperate.

When the barrier of snow cleared, the Iclis commander expected his opposite number to launch straight into an attack, but he was mistaken. Arrows darted between the forces, and a few skirmishes were fought, but over the next few weeks, battle was not joined. Perplexed, Vul'hlok ordered his own assault, but he was easily driven back. So, like Malkau, he contented himself with taking the defensive.

For 4 years this continued, and to all the Iclese it seemed as if nothing was changing. But unknown to them, the Praklaetos forces were slowly withdrawing all the time. They marched down, south beyond the mountains, and after 4 years, the last of them had left Tymiar Pass. Though Malkau's intention was to strike fast and hard at the exposed southern part of the Iclese Lands, he was halted by the Elves of the Southern Part of the Continent, who delayed his armies as they attempted to circumnavigate the mountains, and eventually allied with the Iclese to destroy his army at the Battle of Amysi Hill.
